The immense popularity of Budapest as a vacation destination means that there are daily flights from New York, Chicago and Los Angeles to Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport. Flights from New York and Chicago typically require one stop and there are occasionally two stops when flying from LA.

How long is the flight to Budapest?

Flight times naturally vary, depending on where you are flying from. The flight from New York to Budapest takes around 10h, while flight time from Chicago is about 13h. If you’re traveling from Los Angeles, expect a flight time of between 13h and 18h for one stop flights.

How to get from the airport to the city centre?

Perhaps the most efficient way to get from the airport to the centre of Budapest is by bus. The 100E airport bus takes around 45 minutes and costs arount $6. Taxis are of course a speedier option and will cost around $25 per person. There is no Uber in Hungary.
