Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "Crowded and hot just like Miami"
Pros: "the seats are ok, but service was awful"
Cons: "the fight attendants attitude"
Pros: "Great crew!"
Cons: "We paid for WiFi but it was not working on this flight."
Cons: "On the first leg of my journey, there was a card explaining how to get inflight entertainment using the aainflight.com which worked great. However the Phoenix to Eugene leg used Boingospot but there was no card in the seat pocket explaining what needed to be put in your browser to access the entertainment portal. There were only two flight attendants on the flight and, aside from the drink service, no one ever came to the back of the plane so I could ask the question. I could have used the call button but I think that should be saved for emergencies. I think the information on how to access the inflight entertainment should be in every seat pocket"
Cons: "Serving hours crazy. 11 AM lunch, for example. Second "meal" weird."
Pros: "The seat was super Uncomfortable. Squished Middle seat that I paid $37 for (w/Priority boarding, see below). What a ripoff. The seat was designed specifically to torture passengers, of this I am certain."
Cons: "I paid for a seat upgrade that included "Priority Boarding", For AA, that meant Group 5 out of 9. WTF?? Clearly Bait and Switch - there's a big placard at every AA boarding gate that states: Priority Boarding 1-4 (to the Left) and "Main Boarding" 5-9 (to the Right). Fraudulent, clearly."
Pros: "on time departure offered a beverage and snack"
Cons: "we had to circle phila we had to wait for our gate"
Pros: "The plane was a good size for that length of trip. Free entertainment options were excellent."
Cons: "Had to pay $80 for an upgrade to be (fairly) comfortable for the flight."

Pros: "Much better flight in 1st class than in cattle car. Not happy about the extra cost just so not to be misrtsble."
Pros: "The pilot got us to Dallas ahead of schedule which was a big help because I was concerned about making my connecting flight. The stewardess assured me of the process and said not to worry."

Pros: "It was on time"
Cons: "Nothing"
Pros: "I could be rebooked on my initial flight and I arrived early in San Diego."

Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "They forgot to plan a pilot....also the crew was 45 min late"
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Horrible service, clueless flight attendants, very unprofessional crew."
Cons: "see above."
Cons: "I missed both meals because I was asleep. I usually get woken up by the flight staff, but this time I just missed them. The first time, I woke up on my own to see everyone finishing their food, so I asked for a meal and I got one; the second time, I woke up to see the trash being collected, but never got a chance to ask for my meal because no member of the flight staff passed me again. I landed in LA at midnight and was starving."
Pros: "How can you serve food like that."
Cons: "Drinks were fare , had to ask for seconds 10 hour flight. Where were they. I got up and got my own."
Pros: "Wonderful and super friendly crew"
Cons: "Booked flight with my sister 6 months before departure, paid for both tickets at the same time to find out seat assignment not together.... that could be understable only if ticket is purchased at the last minute. We were applicable to switch with another couple who were in the same situation as us....."
Pros: "Boarding, comfortable seats, clean"
Cons: "Mediocre service, choice of food was down to one option (and I was on the 2nd row)"
Pros: "The crew was amazing, flight was very smooth, arrived early, plane clean, service was great."
Cons: "For being in first class, my seat did not recline so I couldn't sleep and audio for my entertainment center was not working"
Cons: "There was only a shared screen. And the AA Entertainment app didn't work"
Pros: "Nothing!"
Cons: "Was not compensated for arranging trans from Albuquerque to Santa Fe! Refused delivery of bag Santa Fe address!"
Pros: "perfect"
Pros: "The flight attendant was sweet and nice; flight was not full so I got to have a row to myself."
Cons: "I was surprised there was no beverage service at all. On my flight from Roanoke to Charlotte, same length flight, we were served water and pretzels. I would have liked a beverage."
Pros: "Great service"
Pros: "Very upset this was an American Airlines Plane and not Quantas. There was very little room so it was an extremely uncomfortable 13+ hour redeye flight."
Cons: "Bait and switch tactics, size of seats."
Pros: "Crew was really good"
Cons: "Other than the crew rest really bad"
Pros: "Boarding on time and arrived to my destination on time."
Cons: "no comment"
Pros: "Landed early"
Cons: "The seats were not as good as the ones on my BA flight to Heathrow and then Rome. Also, cross country flight but no in flight entertainment. Arrived early in PHL and American would not let me move up to an earlier PHL-SFO flight since it was a code share booked with BA. Should not be my fault as when booking it indicated all four of my flights were with BA. Once booked it indicated the return flights were code share with AA. American should have allowed me on the earlier flight. That would have opened a seat on the scheduled flight which had people waiting on standby."
Pros: "New plane, all kinds of entertainment choices including new movies, great flight crew, smooth flight."
Cons: "American check in software was down when we got to the airport. Created a very large line. Did not delay boarding, even though passengers still had to go through customs before reaching the departure gates. Had a bit of jog to make sure I was able to get on the plane."
Pros: "Direct smooth"
Cons: "A little snooty attendants tight seats"
Pros: "The mobile updates were helpful and timely."
Cons: "The overhead space was smaller on this plane and as I learned on my trip to DTW my weekender carry-on would not fit with my shoes in it. Because of this, I pulled my shoes out and put them in a collapsible bag that fit under the seat in front of me along with my small personal bag as I had done on my previous flight. However, the gate agent would not allow me to board the plane and would not listen to my explainations at all as I tried to keep the boarding process moving along. She kept repeating "you have 3 bags" and made me steep out of line and check my carry-on (which I would then have to pick up at baggage claim). When I asked why I couldn't get out on the jetway like she had done for other passengers she said, " I only did that for airline employees" (quick happened to be a flight attendant from Spirit). My overall experience on both flights to and from Detroit was that the gate agents and flight attendants were the most unhelpful and rude airline employees I have delt with and I will stick to my preferred carrier, Delta, for my future flights back and forth to Detroit. They certainly make me feel like a valued customer when I fly them, which I did not feel with American."
Pros: "The flight was done by American Airlines. The airplane was quite new. Entertainment in all languages and food in the norm"
Cons: "nothing"
Pros: "The American Airways gate agent was very helpful fixing the problem that British Airways created. She went out of her way to get me booked on AA flights to catch my BA flight from London to Riyadh."
Cons: "My original flight was cancelled and the first available flight was 3 days later. BA booked me on the flight but failed to change my ticket from the original flight causing me to miss the flight from Kansas City. At the airport BA agent told me on the phone that I would have to wait 3 more days after I had already waited 3 days because BA canceled my original flight. Because of the flight cancelation I missed two days of work and because of the failure to ticket my following flight I almost missed a full week of work. The BA booking person seemed content that there was no way I could make it to Saudi prior to the end of the week. Fortunately, the AA agent was able to find a way for me to continue my trip on a later flight."
Cons: "Not able to check luggage all the way through"
Cons: "That all the passengers were rechecked at the Gate by TSA without offering any explanation as to why, if it was a domestic flight, why were they requiring ID again. And checking bags."
Cons: "No Gogo entertainment"
Cons: "Old plane with no plug-ins and outdated media."
Pros: "On time and no lost bags"
Cons: "Tiny overhead bin"
Cons: "there was no entertainment for a very long flight. also, it was night time, and the fasten seatbelt signs are so big and bright that it is impossible to go to sleep! Our plan was delayed for 2 hours, meaning we did not get in until 230am. it was exhausting!"
Cons: "American Airlines is continually delaying flights. Impossible to actually plan around."
Pros: "The guy at the initial ticket counter was wonderful and took his time addressing my needs."
Pros: "roomy flight, great movie selection, food was great"
Pros: "Nothing exceptional"
Cons: "Change fees are ludicrous. Also flight was late."
Pros: "Ordinary flight, not too chaotic for holiday weekend."
Cons: "My luggage was lost! Had to wait an entire day to recuperate my suitcases."
Pros: "Good entertainment for an overnight flight, and good food"
Cons: "Lost and damaged bag"
