Dealing w kayak and all related parties in advance of flight was a NIGHTMARE. Very confusing w 3-4 layers of companies, reservation numbers, confirmation codes, etc. Will Never deal w kayak again.
Air Canada staff in Boston did not seem to realize that Halifax was an hour ahead in a different time zone. Due to the delay in the Boston Halifax flight, which was known from the time we checked in almost three hours before the scheduled departure, we missed our flight to London. While Air Canada did put us up over night, they were difficult on the phone in planning an alternate route and did not get us out of Canada and to London until 24 hours after we were scheduled to arrive. This was very frustrating for us as we missed an important part of our trip.
The crew was excellent. Very attentive and witty. One flight attendant in particular went out of her way to take my 4 year for a walk to get snacks to give her something else to do. We also boarded the plane first as we had young kids which gave us ample time to settle our carry-on luggage and the kids before the rush of other travelers.
Not enough legroom in coach for families dealing with young kids where these kids invariably want to be in your lap and then ppl in front of you want to recline.....it is just uncomfortable. The other thing is that my trip to Barbados did not have the in seat TV and try as I might to download the plug in to my Surface so that I could watch from their Westjet connect it would not work so that made it difficult to help with passing the time with my kids. I am also a strong advocate for a decent meal on any flight more than 3 hours. I should not have to purchase meals after spending all that money on a plane ticket.
