Cons: "Please see my previous review for my updated itinerary. This Panama City --> Cartagena flight did not happen and instead I was routed to Chicago--> Newark --> Bogota --> Cartagena. The last flight was operated by Avianca. DUE TO the fact that my very last, 55-minute, domestic flight in Colombia was operated by Avianca, it was to my very unpleasant surprise that United decided they were not going to be responsible for the bag which was left behind IN CHICAGO. I emphasize it's in Chicago, because that would not fall under Avianca's responsibility but rather United. I've had an absolutely awful time trying to get in touch with United and Avianca customer service, I've received both conflicting and incorrect/untrue information from both parties, and it's been 4 days now that instead of enjoying my family vacation I've been trying to sort this mess out with my missing luggage. DISASTROUS"

Cons: "Instead of going Chicago -> Panama City I was routed to Chicago --> Newark --> Bogota --> Cartagena. This means instead of arriving 8pm, I would now be arriving 8am the following day (I actually arrived after 1pm, so all in, it was about 30 hours of travel experience). At the request of the United agent in Minneapolis, I got in Customer Service line in Chicago to have my bags properly transferred to my connecting flights. After an hour in line, the agent proved to me by showing me the screen she was working on, that my bags would be routed directly to my final destination. She was confused why I was told to even come in line, so, great, another hour wasted."

Cons: "I called Copa Airlines and the person on the phone told me they had NO online checkin. She told me I had to drive to the airport (SFO - 60 minutes from my home) to check in!!! Poor information. Bad food. Smells awful, cheap. Poor wine. Don't serve anything rather than bad food. They seem rather disorganized. Captain and copilot were okay. They landed the plane."

The organization was good and everything went well The sandwich served on the quick 1 hour long flight was an unexpected nicety that would not have happened on a discounted airline. The bags arrived with me at my destination. Like a well practiced production, I did not see the behind the scene work but in the end everything worked together to make a very nice experience."

Despite the fact that I did online check-in at least 23 hours in advance, I was seated way at the rear of the jet. As a single woman who looks unusual because half of my hair is shorter due to recent surgery; I sincerely hope I was not seated at the back due to my appearance. The other passenger seated with me was a very kind developmentally disabled young man. The placement in row 33 +/- only emphasized the many instances of turbulence on the flight to Chicago."

Cons: "They broke off one of the 4 wheels of my checked-in bag rendering it useless. I approached the luggage complaint section of Copa Airlines and they said they only fix or replace bags when they make an actual hole in the fabric, which would basically require using a sharp knife or a chainsaw. Broken wheels (mine was completely gone), handles etc don't count, in other words, they can throw around your bags like they mean nothing to them because their policy protects them, not you. I'm pretty sure Copa isn't the only airline doing this but it needs to be said regardless, it's really not fair the way they treat / abuse customers' belongings without making themselves responsible for hardly any of it."

Instead of finding us replacement of a window and aisle seats we had to take middle seats. She didn't even make an effort to ask if anyone would switch out. I wish airlines would train their crew to think out of the box style and practice customers service, which finds solutions and not state rules. In the end - people migrated to the exist aisle anyway (where we were seated) and made it into a bed."

Pros: "The flight itself was about as average as any other flight. At least all our luggage made it from the incoming flight from Key West to join us in Charlotte. That was our final destination but most of the passengers were making additional connections."
Cons: "The boarding went like the plane was ready to leave on time, except it didn't. There was a delay because the flight crew came from another arriving flight, so they had to go through the full pre-flight checklist. Then there was a "minor maintenance issue" that couldn't be fixed right away because it was "shift change" for the maintenance crews. Eventually they arrived and fixed whatever, while everyone was getting texts and alerts that kept delaying the departure by 15-minute intervals. Over an hour (while sitting in a warm plane) after the original scheduled departure, we left the gate, sat on the taxiway a while, then took off. Cabin crew only had cookies and drinks, no other snacks or food. All anyone got was an apology for the extended delay."

Cons: "The seats were incredible jam-packed together. We had a 9 1/2 hour flight from Tokyo and could not even sit without our knees touching the seat in front of us. My tray table couldn't even properly extend -- the seats are so tight my tray just folded up on top of me. The food was BAD. 1/3 edible out of each course, consistently. I saw other passengers also dumping untouched trays of mystery meat that came as a side. They handed out egg-tomato-cucumber sandwiches which were inedible. The tomato had gone bad and the egg had a sour taste -- I gagged when I took the first bite. I'm especially disappointed with the seat spacing, though. I had a really difficult time getting in/out of the seating aisle to use the restroom. Even with our bags stored under the seat, I couldn't get in without tripping on/getting my foot caught in the strap of our purses/backpack. I couldn't even turn on one side without my arms or legs touching the passenger next to me -- sore neck, sore back, and still couldn't even get a wink of sleep. I will not be flying internationally with American Airlines again. They are the epitome of an airline trying to cash in on as many seats as possible. Save yourself the trouble and fly Japan Airlines directly -- their food was great and their seats were very comfortable."

At this point, all planes crossing the ocean should have individual tvs for a customer to watch. They had this 15 years ago, how do they not have it now."

Cons: "Initially upon arriving in phili, my wife and I boarded the plane and I walked on the plane first than immediately my wife was asked by a flight attendant if she was supposed to be on the flight without any explanation at all, it was weird and disheartening. Also other than one flight attendant actually seemed to enjoy what they were doing, and I am a big customer service man, and some of the attendants didn't seem to care AT ALL at many points, very disappointed. Also he plane that we took out of the United States to go to Ireland was very small, and the plane to return us to the states was very small as well. The flight from our connection in phili to go to Charlotte was the biggest plane we had, just for a two hour ride.. really disaipointsd with American Airlines."

They kept switching seats, spilling alcohol all over me and my stuff and the flight crew could not care less. We even had an older Asian flight attendant on flight 1749 that was just overwhelmed for the job. She would hand the person on the isle a handful of pretzels and say 'here, pass these out'. The other flight crew members made it worse by treating her poorly. You could tell they didn't like her and were agitated by her. Instead if being polite and educating, they were exasperated and impatient. Overall was super disappointed. I have flown United so many times back home to Maui and was always so please and excited to brag about how great United was. Not this time. Thanks for reading."

Cons: "The Overnight flight I had was EXTREMELY uncomfortable. Too uncomfortable to even sleep at all. The seating is so tight, I could barely move my legs when the seat in front of me was reclined (and I am tiny!) I landed after my connecting flight was already boarded, causing an employee from the airline to announce my name over the intercom on the plane and tell the passengers to "clear a lane for me." I ran with my suitcase over my head, bumping into people and making it to my next gate...where I was told there was ABSOLUTELY NO ROOM for my carry on...which was also, very tiny. I specifically did not want to check my bag because I needed to immediately hop off the plane to make it to work on time. Another customer was VERY upset about having to check his bag and was pulled aside. I finally was told I needed to check my bag at the gate to get on. So i did. As I entered the plane, about half of it was COMPLETELY empty with PLENTY of room. I was floored. About 10 minutes later, the very angry man happily entered with his carry on and stored it easily in the overhead bin. My frustration was at a peak. But I said nothing. When I arrived to Newark, I rushed to baggage claim and guess what? After 30 minutes of waiting, my bag never showed up. I had to check in with information and finally found it. But this caused to me to be late for work. I have usually had a great experience with United. But this experience has changed my mind completely and am very upset."

Reminding me that it was a large airport. I declined, but she encouraged me to try it and I agreed. She was concerned and very helpful."
Cons: "The plane was a small plane and we had to disembark on the tarmac. There were two attendants with wheelchairs but they didn't have my name so I walked on. The flight attendant called to me and said to wait. One of the attendants came up with a wheelchair and said he would take me. Unfortunately, a steep ramp had to be used to get into the airport building. He asked another worker to help him and all the way up the ramp I had to listen to comments about "good thing they had eaten their Wheaties" and "they were getting a good workout." I know that I am not a small person, but these ongoing comments were rude and insulting. When we got into the gate the attendant told me that he didn't have my name on his list and had to call for permission to take me through the airport. I waited and he came back and said he couldn't take me, but if I could wait someone else could come for me. I had waited enough already and suffered their rude comments, so I said no thanks and walked slowly through the airport. This experience has left me with a bad feeling for the airline and its personnel. I believe their staff could use sensitivity training at the very least!"

She was miserable. We were standing at the stanchion, waiting for the next agent to call us. She just stood there. Made eye contact, smiled and gestured to ask if she was open... Blank stare. Minutes later we walked up and she was open. Charged me even more for bag than flight down. Didn't buy anything on trip and bag was magically 15 pounds heavier than the flight down. Also got "hit up" for money by fellow passenger. Don't mind helping, but story was suspect. Anyway, I'm only going to use Spirit as a last resort in the future."

Then 10 minutes later reported the new gate that Kayak had already determined. That was just boarding. Paid for the more comfortable/spacious seating which was nice but useless when coupled with seats that do not recline whatsoever. Painful and slightly torturous. Don't fly them you'll save money by choosing someone else. $ to pick seat $ to bring a carry on...those who didn't know that paid somethingnlike $65 at the gate. The worst. Never again."

People are tired and most of the time are going to try and get comfortable and maybe sleep? No way was that happening with how extremely small this plane was. I am an "average" size 28 year old female and I felt that I couldn't move at all. I can't imagine this flight being comfortable for anyone, of any size. I wasn't going to judge this airline on that alone, but of course, what everyone warns you of, delays. Delays on BOTH flights. So inconvenient for not only us but family members who are planning on picking us up. I will go ahead and remind you that people say, you get what you pay for. We each paid 350, not including the 152 dollars for seat selecting and baggage, and an extra 30 for oversized luggage. Seriously?! That is NOT cheap when compared to delta which allows a FREE carry on, checked bag for 25 bucks, some actual leg room, and a friendly staff. Never again. Super disappointed."

Cons: "The flight departed late was the first indication of the night to come. Next, after boarding and taking my seat (comfortable seat) in the last row. My whole row was told, by a flight attendant, that we would have to move due to a "security" concern. All three of us were placed in aisle row seats closer to the front of the plane. My seat happen to be on the exit row next to two over weight passengers. I am 6'3" and 240 lbs. myself. I am not huge but I require the entire space of my seat to be comfortable. The man sitting next to my seat was easily close to 400 lbs. and wide, so naturally he spilled over into my seat. The flight attendant returned shortly and asked the couple in my row, "would you like to move to the back of the plane where you would have your own row and possibly be more comfortable. The couple refused to move and I don't blame them. The HAD their own row to start with before this flight attendant arbitrarily move me. I could not believe it!!! I later walked to the back of the plane and saw the same mentioned flight attendant, sitting comfortably in my old seat with nobody sitting in the middle seat. This was a red-eye flight and due to my newly given seat I NFC oils not sit comfortably, I could not rest, I have been having back problems, and I am seriously considering filing a compliant if not more. No thanks to any more Spirit flights after this trip."
