France has begun to ease its travel restrictions. As well as travelers arriving from states in the wider European area (EU, UK, Andorra, Vatican City, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino and Switzerland), travelers may now enter France from Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, New Zealand, Rwanda, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia and Uruguay without any requirement to self-isolate, or to demonstrate their travel is essential.
Exemptions exist for spouses and children of French nationals, long-term residents with French residence permits and their spouses and children, long-term residents of EEA Member States, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or the Vatican City and their spouses and children on their way home, and healthcare professionals. Airline crew, personnel of diplomatic and consular missions and international organizations with offices in France and their spouses and children, and merchant seamen may also still enter. Mask wearing is obligatory for all travelers above the age of 11.
Travelers will need to complete a ‘sworn statement’ (déclaration sur l’honneur) form self-certifying they are not suffering from symptoms associated with COVID-19 and have not been in contact with confirmed cases in the preceding fortnight. This is available in English on the site of the French Embassy London.
Foreign travelers who are not nationals of the above countries or arriving from one of the above countries are still restricted from entering France.
Travelers arriving from outside of the countries listed above must have an International Travel Certificate to enter and transit France, showing that their travel is of an "essential" nature. This must be obtained prior to departure via the French consular offices abroad or online at https://www.interieur.gouv.fr.
Travelers flying to airports in France from such areas will also be required to take a PCR test. They may either provide a negative test result taken less than 72 hours before departure. Whether this test is recommended or obligatory depends on the category your country of departure falls in to:
Category 1 countries: For travelers from Bahrain, Panama, the UAE and the USA. Boarding will be refused if a negative COVID-19 test result is not presented. Those departing the US who have taken a test but do not yet have a result will be able to board with a consular ‘laissez-passer’ on condition they re-take a test on arrival.
Category 2 countries: For travelers from Algeria, Argentina, Armenia, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Costa-Rica, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Equatorial Guinea, India , Israel, Kosovo, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Madagascar, Maldives, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Occupied Palestinian territories, Oman, Peru, Qatar, Serbia, South Africa and Turkey. Travelers are strongly recommended to take a test in the 72 hours prior to departure but can opt to take a test on arrival instead.
Arrivals from countries not named above will be invited to present negative test results taken 72 hours prior to departure or may opt to take a test on arrival.
Travelers without a negative test result arriving from Category 2 countries and from countries not named above are subject to quarantine if they refuse to take a test upon arrival.
There are special regulations for travelers transiting through France to return to their country of residence. Only direct transit to reach your country of residence is permitted. Transiting travelers may not leave the international zone and will not be admitted to France. Luggage must be checked through to the final destination, and travelers will not be permitted to leave the international zone to collect and recheck baggage. The duration of transit must be less than 24 hours.

Cons: "Real nightmare as I had booked YUL-LYS-BRU with Brussels Airlines (SN). YUL-LYS was operated with Air Canada. Came within 4 minutes of missing flight despite being at airport 3 hrs early. SN had not released ticket to Air Canada so they could not check me in. Had to call SN customer service after AC could not check me in, then wait and wait as they had to try to correct the mistake 3x before AC counter could issue boarding passes. Terrible experience going through this with 2 small kids waiting. It’s as if the two airlines’ systems don’t communicate but passenger is responsible for resolving."
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "Sepeated seating with my wife"
Cons: "Took 3 hours to get our drinks. Completely out of inventory with food and snacks. Very hot on the plane . WiFi didn’t work/ they charged for headphones which i haven’t even heard of. My tray table was completely crooked , i had to place my drinks on my husbands table. Overall, just terrible."

Pros: "My 15 minute nap"
Cons: "The male crew member seemed to be having a rough day."
Cons: "When I bought the ticket I thought it was air Canada but it was air Canada rouge so no food no entertainment tried to download air Canada app but took about an hour to get 10 percent done so flew with no entertainment no drinks no food nothing. Boarding was a pain had a three year old also had to pay extra 50 dollars for my baggage. Typical air Canada nonsense. Would not use them again."
Pros: "Everything was good"
Cons: "One Stu artist who was a older women she was very grumpy, there was little to no turbulence the whole flight and if you got up to go to the washroom and we’re waiting and seatbelt light came on she would make u sit down immediately even if it wasn’t that rough, she made a girl wait for the washroom for 45. Minutes was kinda pathetic, when she was on her shift break not one person had a issue with any of the other flight attendants only her"
Pros: "The food and service were very good."
Cons: "The entertainment system is a bit outdated and had to be rebooted more than once. But this was only a minor inconvenience."
Cons: "Delayed Flight, barely made it onto my connecting flight."
Cons: "smaller aircraft with very limited overhead bag storage. Constantly have to announce volunteers for bag check in. Happen both ways. Atl to Toronto and Toronto to Atl."
Pros: "Accommodations given fue to cancellation"
Cons: "Extra baggage fees and experience with some of the crew"
Pros: "Boarding process."
Pros: "Very personable and welcoming crew on plane"
Cons: "Ground crew a little curt"
Pros: "Flight crew was vey nice and flight was on time."
Cons: "For some reason we were forced to check our luggage (standard curry-ons) however it would completely fit to ovehead bins. Also waiting area were completely cut-off from Duty-Free shops - as soon as you passed security - no access to shopping area."
Pros: "Nice to see some older flight crew members."
Cons: "First meal was frozen. Bread, veggies and brownie cake were frozen while the chicken and rice wasn't appetizing. Flight crew should be more aware of the first row seats when pushing their food carts down and now bumping into passengers tvset."
Pros: "Fast and friendly check-in, flight was on time, service on board was good, flight was comfortable."
Pros: "Nothing because it didn't happen"
Cons: "When I got to the airport, the attendant notified me that my flight had been exchanged. No one notified me of this and I was still under the impression that my flight was scheduled as my itenerary in my latest email. It took two hours to figure out that United had changed my flight and booked me on a different one. Once again, without notifying me. Thank god they changed my flight to a later one or I would have missed it. By the time we figured out what flight I was on, I had to sprint to a different terminal because check in was closing in 20 mins. I arrived at the check in kiosk with less than 5 mins to spare. The experience was terrible and customer service from each Kayak, United and Air Canada. I also injured my back while sprinting between terminals wearing a heavy backpacking backpack. Would not book through Kayak again."
Pros: "Boarding in TO was horrific and had to stand more than an hour"
Pros: "Pathetic service"
Pros: "Air Canada's seats are more comfortable. I didn't have that stiff and unbearable pain and numbness I experienced with other planes over the last 20 years."
Pros: "Great! The passport check in Lisbon was backed-up, but Air Canada held the plane for many passengers. It was a great flight! Highly recommend!"
Cons: "Horrible to say the least"
Pros: "We had to book our son on a flight from Phila to Toronto unexpectedly. We had lost our car keys in Canada and had no way to get new ones. (That's a long and complicated story.) our only option was to fly our son up with the spare key. Luckily he had just gotten his passport. He got a window seat and lived the adventure. The crew couldn't have been nicer."
Cons: "The last minute price if $1000 plus!!"
Pros: "Polite and friendly crew"
Cons: "Connection was a hectic with staff sending up and down to get our boarding passes. TSA had short lines but long wait and a lot of attitude."
Pros: "Great flight"
Pros: "Quick flight, on time."
Cons: "The TV's in the back of the seats didn't turn on for this short flight."
Cons: "Couldn't rate entertainment- there was none - none expected"
Pros: "Food is good"
Cons: "Late again, in the last 4 flights over the last 5-6 weeks I was on time once. Two of the last 3 flights you lost my luggage and both times I was told I would have it late in the day or early evening. 3 weeks ago I received it 36 hours later and yesterday I got it the next morning. 3 weeks ago the overhead lights did not work in almost the entire plan. Yesterday, my movie kept cutting out and the guy next to me and a few others too. I got so frustrated that I shut it off."
Pros: "Crew was nice"
Cons: "Air Canada lost my luggage, didn't get it back for about a week after I came home."
Pros: "It was on-time, left enough time to reach connections and my bag arrived."
Cons: "I was sent to Frankfurt because Air Canada messed up my flight. When I got to Frankfurt, they had booked me on a lufthansa flight. When I got to the gate to get a boarding pass, the person told me that Air Canada had not paid them for the flight and unless they were able to contact them before boarding the plane, I would not be able to get in. They were able to do so right before boarding. The plane from Frankfurt was over one hour late. I was supposed to arrive in Lyon at 10:35am and got there at 7:30pm. Throughout all this ordeal, Air Canada staff members were mostly unhelpful and often rude."
Pros: "Nice flight attendants"
Cons: "In flight entertainment wasn't working on my seat."
Cons: "Mine and my wife's legs did not fit. The seats were spaced much closer together than is standard, and this made the flight unbearable. I stood in the isle for most of the flight. To make things worse on this 5 hour flight, there was no video available to distract me."
Pros: "The flight had good entertainment, decent food, good service, and it left on time. I've never been really impressed with Air Canada but they provide great value for the money as they have sort of become the budget airline of international travel without having a true "budget airline feel." I'll take a good flight to Tokyo with Air Canada for $1100 over an excellent flight to Tokyo for $1500 or $1600, or maybe more. I also like the option of having a long layover in Toronto or Montreal with Air Canada, as these are good cities to spend a few hours in. On the flight back from Tokyo, I had a nice layover in Toronto that lasted almost a day."
Cons: "The electronic/entertainment system went down for a about an hours so that was annoying. This only happened on the return flight but it was enough to create anxiety and make you wonder when it's going to come back on. Airline food is hardly ever much but it's pretty dull on Air Canada. It's not a bad idea to bring some of your own food and alcohol onto an Air Canada flight. The service was good but the stewards don't seem to enjoy their job as much as on some other airlines."
Pros: "The bilingual announcements. The movie selections."
Cons: "Most of the staff were rude and made me feel like an inconvenience any time I needed something. Due to delays leaving Heathrow and arriving in Ontario, my 2 1/2 hour layover was reduced to 30 minutes. And because I was transfering to a flight to the US, I had to sprint through 6 security checkpoints. I made it to my flight, but my bag did not. My bag was not delivered to me until 1 am the following day."
Pros: "Left on time"
Cons: "Didn't pick up dinner trays, when they passed out breakfast, one lady didn't bother to hand out the napkin or the bottle of water to people, while the lady going down the other aisle did. Greasy pice of cake and no napkin, and a red eye flight and no water? I saw them on the cart, I guess it was just too much work to hand them out!!!"
Pros: "We arrived on time, despite the delay in departure (caused by the necessity to off-load a no-show passenger's luggage)"
Cons: "I was given an long explanation why I could not have a whole can of coca cola to drink. I believe, when I spend over $1500, a free coke should be part of the deal. I am glad that I brought my own water, because the service was so limited. There was no entertainment system on board. I suppose the assumption is that everyone brings their won i-Pad."
Cons: "Air Canada cancelled a flight from New Orleans to Toronto causing our entire itinerary to be rebooked and without a replacement flight. We ended up not getting the Air Canada flight back and having to go with United"
Pros: "the crew was great, food was alright, and overall I enjoyed my flight"
Cons: "the only entertainment was able to connect to apple products or a renatble iPad. I don't have an apple product so that was a bit annoying"
Pros: "Love the free coffee dispenser in the aiport! Staff very friendly and helpful."
Cons: "Left a few min late"
Cons: "They wouldn't offer me any change of the flight unless I paid more than double what I originally paid for the airfare. I just lost an entire airfare because they're change fee's are too much, and they are also not allowing me to change the flight to cheaper prices that I've found available on both Kayak and Air Canada. I will never fly Air Canada again."
Pros: "Good flight and on time."
Pros: "Comfort+ seats have excellent leg room."
Cons: "This flight crew couldn’t have been more obnoxious. Announcements about every 15 minutes on a 4 hour flight. I felt bad for anyone trying to sleep, as it was impossible with the extremely loud announcements that were not only unnecessarily frequent, but we’re painfully repetitious."
Cons: "We had to wait for about seven hours at the airport because the flight was delayed."
Pros: "Awesome and funny service."
Pros: "Excellent gate crew"
Cons: "Pretty uncomfortable seat"
Pros: "gate agent helped to get me on a flight at LAX just made it an extra 10 hours"
Cons: "not cancel my flight"
Pros: "Flight was on time and quick"
Cons: "Seat comfort was terrible, as if the seats were made for children."
Cons: "Delayed departure; cramped seat; minimal amenities"
Pros: "Quick boarding"
Cons: "Horrible uncomfortable plane"
Cons: "Would not give us hotel vouchet"
Pros: "Flight was on-time; no delays; great crew! I also liked the fact there was a person at the gate to let us know where our connecting flight gate was - that was really helpful!"
Cons: "In flight entertainment (archived TV/Movies) not provided (other than through personal electronics); but that didn't bother me - flight between Santa Barbara and Denver isn't that long."
Pros: "The onscreen entertainment kept me occupied most of he trip. There were also multiple bathrooms which helped. The neck rest installed on the seat was also nice."
Pros: "As always with United you know what to expect being a Silver Star Alliance member."
Cons: "It was a normal United flight, good, but not outstanding - in coach class - it is one of the most reliable national carriers."
Pros: "Quick and easy to board."
Cons: "Plane was delayed for over 2 hours and nobody from United told us it is delayed and for how long etc. Customer service not very helpful"
Pros: "I really can't complain about the flight. Great service and on time"
Cons: "The only unfortunate thing was there were no TVs which was a bummer"
Pros: "Caught all my flights on time everything went smooth."
Cons: "All good things"
Pros: "OK service, hard landing"
Cons: "Scheduled times were kept"
Pros: "6 HOUR DELAY I THINK THAT SAYS IT ALL"
Cons: "The Overnight flight I had was EXTREMELY uncomfortable. Too uncomfortable to even sleep at all. The seating is so tight, I could barely move my legs when the seat in front of me was reclined (and I am tiny!) I landed after my connecting flight was already boarded, causing an employee from the airline to announce my name over the intercom on the plane and tell the passengers to "clear a lane for me." I ran with my suitcase over my head, bumping into people and making it to my next gate...where I was told there was ABSOLUTELY NO ROOM for my carry on...which was also, very tiny. I specifically did not want to check my bag because I needed to immediately hop off the plane to make it to work on time. Another customer was VERY upset about having to check his bag and was pulled aside. I finally was told I needed to check my bag at the gate to get on. So i did. As I entered the plane, about half of it was COMPLETELY empty with PLENTY of room. I was floored. About 10 minutes later, the very angry man happily entered with his carry on and stored it easily in the overhead bin. My frustration was at a peak. But I said nothing. When I arrived to Newark, I rushed to baggage claim and guess what? After 30 minutes of waiting, my bag never showed up. I had to check in with information and finally found it. But this caused to me to be late for work. I have usually had a great experience with United. But this experience has changed my mind completely and am very upset."
Cons: "Flight cancelled and no alternative to deal with cancelled flight"
Pros: "The best time to fly a particular airline is right after they've been in the news with bad publicity. Every single personnel was attentive and cordial."
Cons: "It was a smaller plane and very full. The seats are packed so tightly together, you dare not sneeze."
Pros: "Everything was fine on the first leg."
Cons: "Delays, very long delays. Not a fault of anyone but United had delays."
Pros: "Punctuality and very courteous ."
Cons: "My flight out of traverse city was cancelled but I rebooked on a different airlines through united to be able to get to my destination in time for an event that day. It was a long process but I made it and really appreciated all the work the agent on the phone did for me. When I arrived at the airport they had my resvervation but no ticket... luckily we worked it out"
Pros: "Very comfortable and the staff was great!"
Pros: "Flight attendant was fine"
Cons: "Was told upon checking in that they did not have s seat for me. United airlines informed me that third party websites do not guarantee seats. You must book directly on united. They over book the flight and several passengers were not allowed on the flight"
Pros: "fast smooth safe trip"
Cons: "They ran out of food, didn't get any snacks, which were pretzels, I would prefer peanuts like in the old days."
Cons: "HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM UNITED AND THE THIRD PARTY CONSOLIDATOR. Awful. Awful. Awful."
Pros: "Flight was smooth and on board crew was nice and helpful. Flight attendant noticed I came on with a cane and offered to have a wheelchair ride available in the SF airport. Reminding me that it was a large airport. I declined, but she encouraged me to try it and I agreed. She was concerned and very helpful."
Cons: "The plane was a small plane and we had to disembark on the tarmac. There were two attendants with wheelchairs but they didn't have my name so I walked on. The flight attendant called to me and said to wait. One of the attendants came up with a wheelchair and said he would take me. Unfortunately, a steep ramp had to be used to get into the airport building. He asked another worker to help him and all the way up the ramp I had to listen to comments about "good thing they had eaten their Wheaties" and "they were getting a good workout." I know that I am not a small person, but these ongoing comments were rude and insulting. When we got into the gate the attendant told me that he didn't have my name on his list and had to call for permission to take me through the airport. I waited and he came back and said he couldn't take me, but if I could wait someone else could come for me. I had waited enough already and suffered their rude comments, so I said no thanks and walked slowly through the airport. This experience has left me with a bad feeling for the airline and its personnel. I believe their staff could use sensitivity training at the very least!"
Pros: "We stood in line forever to then be told the clerk couldn't ch we ck us in. When we tried the kiosk it didn’t work. Long story short we missed our flight due to their poor organization of the line and crowd."
Cons: "The confusion caused by lack of direction from the staff."
Cons: "Had to wait at gate for a while before disembarking."
Pros: "On way from Boston to SF, Burbank,,and from Burbank to SF, everything, from service, plane comfortability, seating, was excellent. I was really impressed! But they dropped the ball, the last leg of journey."
Cons: "In SF, I paid wheelchair assistant, who left me at Gate 62, and I told him to come get me if gate changed. He never came back, even after hefty tip, and last minute I had to get to Gate 73, almost fainted, I have leukemia. Though I was able to,board first, the plane was older, smaller, and I was out in an E, middle, seat. Horrible experience."
Cons: "No notification that the flight was cancelled until I got to the airport. Not sure then why I share my phone number and email"
Cons: "Loud girls behind me talking."
Pros: "We landed safely"
Cons: "The flight was delayed 3.5 hrs and there was minimal information given to us as customers. The on flight crew was pretty quiet and it just seemed like we weren't valued as folks that spent good money on your flight. It was also turbulent intermittently."
Pros: "Super sweet flight crew and great entertainment."
Pros: "Fast and easy to use"
Pros: "Crew was able to get most of those delayed onto the incomming flight which was also delayed."
Cons: "The fact that united has no spare planes in case of a delay. Not cool."
Cons: "Tiny seat"
Cons: "The cramped conditions. By the way, please add a "N/A" or "not relevant" or "not interested" option to your rating selections. Or allow categories to be left not rated. There was no entertainment on my flight and even if there was I probably wouldn't use it. I don't want to leave a rating at all for that but there's no way not to."
Pros: "I waited for 4 hours on the second left of my flight. That was unpleasant but I appreciate Kayak sending continuous updates"
Cons: "read above"
Cons: "The plane was absolutely filthy.. crumbs on seats debris on floors. Dirty arm rest and seat backs"
Cons: "Four hour equipment delay on departure One hour equipment delay in return I never want to fly connecting again but it was the only way to get from Newark to Burbank."
Pros: "The flight attendant was super."
Cons: "Nothing really. I would like it if pilots would be more interactive. Tell passengers landmarks and cities/states they pass over. Seems no one does that."
Pros: "It was on time from Cle to Houston. The problem was from Houston to SF"
Cons: "Houston to SF was delayed about 3 hours."
Pros: "Getting to my destination"
Cons: "Almost 3 hours delay on the way there and the same on the way back. It's so unacceptable"
Pros: "Other than all my flights were delayed"
Cons: "Flights delayed"
Cons: "Plane Was delayed For 3 hours. Will never fly United. Alaska is way better"
Cons: "This flight was cancelled and the later flights to Portland were all full, so I was offered a flight to Boston instead, with no refund for the bus ticket from Boston to Portland, and of course my bag did not arrive with me."
