The plane was newer at least. And I made a big enough stink when they made me check my bubble-wrapped framed paintings that they actually did get hand carried and made it okay.

These are the smallest seats I have ever experienced on a domestic airline. I'm 6'-4" and I couldn't fit comfortably on their newer 737. The thing that took the cake was that the cabin crew absolutely refused to let me take one of the 5 empty exit row seats telling me that it wasn't fair to the people who paid more, which absolutely enraged me. So then apparently it's also fair that their seats will fit someone who is 5'-4" comfortably but not someone who is 6'-4"?? So it's fair that I can't afford to pay an extra $100+ for it after my profession got gutted in the recession and I make a fraction now of that I used to make? Making your customers suffer for no good reason is inexcusable. I will not be flying United again. Ever.

It got me where I needed to go, albeit with a little effort and stress. Crew was pleasant. Thank you.

6 people overbooked, who might not have gotten seats. I was one of them. I recognize there was nothing I could have done either way but it was unpleasant to hear I might not get a seat on a flight I bought a ticket to a month ago, regardless of the price. And the return flight was dismal. Had to wait an extra 3 hours for maintanence on the plane (fine, would rather it get fixed than have an issue in the air) but we were told there would be vouchers worth some amount sent to our email after we landed back in cincinnati. It's been 3 days and I have received no such vouchers. It also turns out I payed $45 for a personal bag that was I guess covered under a personal bag? I recognize this as being partly my fault, but when I went to get my ticket "personal bag" wasn't an option, so I didn't think I had one, or my single backpack actually was $45 to take with me. Was not a terrible experience. Just not a good one.

Overpriced entertainment--I'm not sure why there is a charge at all. Also, didn't get to choose my seat and got stuck one row ahead of the bathrooms in the back of the plane--worst seat ever. Apparently everyone on the plane had to use the bathroom at least 3 times during the flight--plus the drink cart went by another 10 times.

Flight left somewhat on time, was somewhat cheaper than a United flight, and landed successfully. Buying the fast pass through security saved me no time, because the security lines were short as is.

New-style seats on this flight were the least comfortable I have ever experienced. The snack selection on the flight and food package options were reasonably priced, and there were quite a few good options.

We arrived at the airport and were through security over an hour prior to our flight's takeoff. We decided to grab breakfast at a restaurant approximately 2-3 gates down from our gate. We arrived back at our gate 17 minutes prior to the departure time and the door to the entryway was already closed. No spirit attendants remained at the gate to assist or inform us about who we should speak to regarding this matter. We sat at the gate and watched our flight take over 15 minutes to pull away from entryway with no one available to direct us. After the plane pulled away, a few Spirit staff members came back out the door to the gate, and when we inquired as to why our names were not called throughout the airport (as we heard many other names called while sitting at the airport) they informed us we would have to talk to the customer service desk if we had an issue. We went to the customer service desk and they put us on another flight, which did not depart until late that day. We went to the customer service desks of 3 other airlines attempting to find a sooner flight, and when we explained Spirit closed the gates 17 minutes early, each airline stated that the industry standard is 10 minutes. Not only does Spirit not follow the industry standard, but they also shut the gates 2minutes prior to Spirit's standard which is 15 minutes before the flight. Additionally, no effort was made to call our names prior to the flight, as is customary with all airlines. Two days later, we went to board our return flight, which a week prior to our trip we paid $585 to change to that day, and when we went to check in we were not scheduled to be on that return flight. We showed proof of switching our flight and luckily the attendant was able to get us on that flight, however, we were extremely rushed getting through security and due to Spirit's mistake almost missed this flight as well. If no seats would have been available we would not have been able to get home despite paying to switch the flight a week in advanced. Overall, we were very disappointed with our experience traveling with Spirit and would not recommend the airline to anyone. We are frequent travelers for both business and recreation and have never experienced such poor customer service.

Terminal at Chicago was disorganized, crowded,. Flight left late. Even arriving in Chicago was crazy as as getting off the plane we had to take a long detour winding through barricades on the runway, through two buildings, up a flight of stairs, before finally reaching an almost standing room only boarding area.

The flight was cheap and I knew that would cost us in comfort but the cost effectiveness out weighed the lack of space. Overall the staff was friendly and the process of boarding was a breeze.

Food was expensive if that was the route you chose to do.

I wish I had known that they charge BOTH for carrying on AND for checking a bag. I probably would have spent more money to fly a different airline in more comfort. I wish Kayak had made that a little clearer.

Ever.

Flight was in time and smooth. Crew was friendly and active in the cabin.

Seats were very close together and leg room was very limited. It was difficult to get in and out of the window seat area.

I did not like be charged for every little thing. I can't believe that even water was $3. The airline claims to offer lower rates, but they get you in the end with all the extra charges for seats, carry ons, beverages.

Flight left somewhat on time, was somewhat cheaper than a United flight, and landed successfully. Buying the fast pass through security saved me no time, because the security lines were short as is.

New-style seats on this flight were the least comfortable I have ever experienced. Not reclining is one thing, but this style provides minimal padding and minimal legroom to ensure as many people can be crammed onboard as humanly possible. I'm an averaged sized guy in his 20's, and when I got off the plane I felt like a 60 year old with chronic back issues.

Boarding went smoothly, flight was only 35 minutes delayed, plane looked clean.

They don't offer any free beverages. You even have to pay $3 for water. Word of advice, come prepared! Bring snack/drinks, there is nothing complimentary offered. Also be sure to check in, buy any luggage, and print your ticket ahead of time. Otherwise the fee's are nuts!

It was an inexpensive flight.

You get what you pay for. You get nothing outside of your personal item. Nothing. You sit on a bench with zero legroom, you get zero food/drinks on a four hour flight, and the attendants, especially at the terminals, are really not helpful. Not quite sure what value they provide.

Prices are per person and are for e–tickets and include all taxes & fees in USD.

We attempt to get accurate prices, however, prices are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller.
At KAYAK we don’t set the prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

We compile tonnes of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we can't guarantee prices we find.

Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car rentals can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find, on occasion, that certain prices are no longer available.

If you have more questions or if you have a bad price to report to us,
please send us an and someone from our team will get back to you promptly.
