Second time I have flown to Brussels with Iceland Air. I love their customer service and especially the flight route. My flight going over was cancelled due to weather. I called their reservation office , had to wait on hold for 1 hour and 15 minutes , but it was worth it. The reservation agent found me a new flight on LH, she explained I would get a conformation about 3 hours after our conversation with the flight information and new txt information. I was able to check in with LH on line that evening. Iceland Air had every pre assigned seats for me.
The boarding process in Kevlavik is pretty awful. No seating around gate areas. You have to stand in line for about 30 minutes to then have to get on shuttle to be driven to plane where you have to walk on stairs to get to plane, or in some cases you actually get to board from the terminal, which happened yesterday. I have MS,and sometimes standing for long periods of time and then having to climb up stairs is difficult for me. I also see a lot of elderly people and parents with babies having difficulty with this boarding process. Their airport really needs major expansion for the amount of people that travel thru their. Seating araes around their gates should be a priority.
Service of staff was sub par compared to other airlines serving Germany
It was a smooth flight and the crew were quite attentive.
I didn't like the confusion of boarding. We stood in a long line for quite a while before boarding began. There were three other lines going to other destinations, which made it confusing and packed with people. Check in was a little stressful as well. Due to a belt malfunction, we had to wait in line for a long time without any information. Once we were able to check our bags, my husband's bag was declined. We had to wait in another line before finally getting the go ahead to go to customs. For the amount of money I paid, I thought a snack would have been provided.
The lights in the cabin were great set up to look like the Aurora
Offered 1 drink and no snack. Rarely do you see the crew on their flights
Tried to reschedule flight just a few days later because of a friend's wedding. It would have cost more in fees to reschedule the flight than it cost in the first place, and THEN I would have had to pay for an entirely new flight. JustFly was absolutely awful to work with and showed neither remorse nor compassion.

Food was all right because the flight didn't depart from Finland and catering was from a non-Finnish supplier. Hurrah!
Stewardesses announced that only chicken is available, regardless of any special meal requests (vegetarian etc..). Eventually special meals were located, but not before passengers specifically demanding for them. WTF. Finnair generously pours you a half an glass of wine with meal, for anything more you have to pay for. Supposedly you can buy snacks with money, but there were no menus or pricelists to be found in the seat pockets. Touchscreen functions were barely working on my entertainment screen, the remote control didn't work altogether. WIFI didn't work at all.
good service in spite of rather crammed conditions and short flight, UK newspaper was available, plenty of leg room (biz class consisting of one row in the front:))) - the lucky 4 in that 1st row were the only ones to get food, and also drink for free, it seems... and yes, the flight was short and otherwise uneventful, I was the 1st to walk off the plane.
The plane was a tiny oldish commuter jet with 2 seats on each side of the aisle. In "biz class" you still had to rub elbows with your neighbor, something other airlines with newer planes have sorted out, but allowing extra space between seats.... but overall, for a short flight (not much longer than an average subway commute in NYC), it really was not a huge deal....
