Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "The fact that no one sat next to me believe me it was not a my choice there was just not a body to put in the seat"
Cons: "The staff was not friendly or say hello or goodbye"
Pros: "The crew was fine and was thankful they found a way to get back to Detroit (but, it required a stop in Dallas and an overnight in Chicago)"
Cons: "There was no social distancing or enforcement for wearing masks. I saw no sanitizing on any of the three flights I had to take to get to Detroit. of the four airports only the one in Guadalajara asked any health questions and could be seen sanitizing the waiting room and eliminating seats to keep spacing."
Pros: "Crew very friendly."
Cons: "I could not get wifi. Had it from GCM to SAV with no problems."
Cons: "My ticket did not allow me to use my status to upgrade. Never buying through Kayak again."
Cons: "Same as the other two legs of trip. Horrible and will never fly American Airlines again"
Pros: "The flight time are on time ."
Cons: "Good entertainment on broad"
Cons: "Its okay"
Pros: "Crew members were all very pleasant and personable. A very special experience with the local ticket agent / boarding agent (double duty) in Guadalajara: Maria Hernandez (or perhaps Fernandez) who was pleasant, professional, helpful and even called us respectfully by name ("Mr. and Mrs. Petrusek") She is an outstanding representative of American Airlines! Gracias to her!!"
Cons: "Not a thing! We live in Mexico and we usually fly Volaris...I think AA just became our favorite airline!"
Pros: "Crew and food and drink options fine. Comfort level in First Class much lower that expected. Update the aricraft please!!"
Cons: "Couldn't recline the seat very far. No USB outlet. No multimedia options. Get into the 21st century!!"
Cons: "Too cold"
Pros: "The flight was on time and deboarfing went quickly."
Pros: "Crew was good. There was a lot of movies available. A LOT!"
Cons: "The boarding process was the WORST!"
Cons: "This leg was terrible, the plane sat on the runway for over an hour! The captain did not initially say anything for 30 minutes."
Pros: "The seats were decent for a domestic flight. Everything was timely."
Cons: "More food. Better entertainment."
Pros: "Crew was nice. Plane was clean."
Pros: "Lots of food and drink on plane."
Cons: "Philadelphia airport is horrible, rude staff, they lost our luggage and many other international flight luggage. Absolutely unacceptable."
Pros: "Not much"
Cons: "Duck tape holding up oxygen mask compartment 1 row behind us. Cabin entertainment monitor was missing a 3rd of the display and only one headphone jack in our row worked. Thankfully, we brought a splitter. We will never book an American Flight again. Aer Lingus was STELLAR. No comparison."
Pros: "Being prompt"
Cons: "Ran out of food I liked."
Pros: "Breakfast on GDL-DFW and movie"
Cons: "One hour delay on account of missing signatures from some mechanic according to the captain’s weak and shallow account of the facts. Flew with a 1st class upgrade to DFW and upon missing the connection to DSM (imputable to AA) I would have expected AA to have me await my later conection (3 hrs AA 2488) in the Admiral’s club especially after having paid for the upgrade. Instead, the bozo at the Admiral’s Club entrance in Terminal A A23 indicated that only Mexico City passengers were allowed into the Club even if as a GDL passenger I had a 1st class boarding pass. Poor and misguided management of the moment of truth on behalf of your employee with a 1 Million Miler customer. My experience recently with Delta and United has been with more open minded, customer centric and better trained airline staff. Disappointing and hope someone will read this and let me know that my note was heard. What is next?"
Pros: "The 737 was excellent. Boeing still makes the best aircraft."
Cons: "Being rescheduled from an 0830 departure to a 0530 departure, which meant I had to get up at 0300 to get to RIC by 0400 for TSA and check-in. As originally planned I would have arisen at 0500, still early, but not nearly 0300. The equipment had no individual entertainment screens. So we were stuck with whatever was on the common screen...which was bad."
Cons: "The airline decided to randomize seating so boarding was an absolute mess, with families switching seats, understandably. Flight attendants didn’t help at all or try to de-escalate the issues. The bathrooms were dirty and unkept which is unacceptable for long flights."
Pros: "Relatively quick embarkation process despite having to walk outside. Got us safely to destination."
Cons: "Those old turbo props suck big time. Not only everything looks dated but the engine drone and especially the vibration are unbearable. I have flown turbo-prop in Europe and they didn’t seem so noisy and transmitting so much vibration."
Pros: "Journey on time, crew friendly and helpful"
Cons: "Cramped seat, only 1 toilet"
Pros: "Not exceptional"
Cons: "Not much room for moving around but really fast"
Pros: "Friendly staff"
Cons: "Food was terrible and the seats tight"
Pros: "Smooth transition with our connecting flight"
Cons: "Plane didn’t feel very clean. Our tray tables were dirty Seats were not very comfortable. Food could do with a little help"
Cons: "There was no inflight entertainment at all. Your only option is to purchase WiFi so that you can view entertainment on your phone or other electronic device. For a plane that cannot offer inflight entertainment, the WiFi should be free."
Cons: "Our connecting flight was late and they next flight left 5min early?! WTF! We missed the flight by 3min. 10 other people missed the flight too. Now our whole day is blown waiting nearly 6hrs for next flight."
Pros: "Movie selection, drinks"
Cons: "Kayak/JustFly charged us a fee to pre-select our seats which was appealing traveling with a baby. However, upon checking in, we found that the seats were not reserved and the fee was a marketing ploy. The airline attempted to separate our family of 3, but luckily it was not a full flight and we were able to sit together with no help from Kayak, JustFly, British Airways, or American. Kayak/JustFly made the experience of traveling overseas with a baby more challenging than it otherwise would have been which is a terrible way to conduct business. We will never be using these services again and will tell family and friends to do the same."
Cons: "I was forced to check my carry on and pay for it. I was not charged on my way to lax or my trip to Hawaii. Sad. And person was rude"
Pros: "All good"
Cons: "Arrived 1 hr before my flight and they wouldn't check me in. I believe they overbook the flight and turn customer down. They even gave me hard time during rebooking us. Never again."
Cons: "the AA flight arriving to Charlotte experienced a door malfunction that delayed deplaning by 15 minutes. Not a big deal unless you had a close connection to begin with. Result was a dead sprint to Charleston gate where no attempt to hold the plane for those passengers. Also, a black, middle-aged woman with short hair working the ticket counter had the personality of a piece of cardboard with zero responsiveness. AA should reconsider who it places to interact with the general public."
Cons: "Flight connections time was not enough for mam with infant.we missed the flight should better set up that kind of big airport"
Pros: "Overall easy navigation."
Cons: "More signs for terminal to terminal navigation."
Cons: "No entertainment in Business/First and no USB plugs or outlets. Only difference between Business and coach is the size of the seats. The rest was the same. I expected more service, food of some sort and entertainment or connectivity. I will probably avoid flying American if I can help it unless I see that they have updated things."
Cons: "Disappointed with the "Hot Box" (Bean Burrito type) cold & never heated up but still served...unedible. Real shame - food just wasted...unnecessary and just adds to costs of flights at end of day :-/ Customs & Gate in Clt delay could have been handled better. Continuously told us we were deplaning and then silence...several times...very frustrating after 9 hour flight. Better communication and organization in customs would be appreciated Otherwise, crew was very polite and overall good job"
Pros: "The flight was comfortable with good food and movie options."
Cons: "Being in the last row, the deaf didn't recline much and I had difficulty sleeping. Also, I was not informed on the ticket that this particular international flight only allowed one free checked bag, not two, ad got stuck with a $100 extra baggage fee."
Pros: "Service, flight experience, entertainment"
Cons: "Checkin Personal It was delayed 4 hours"
Pros: "The Boarding Was Fast And Easy, The Flight Was Even Early And On Time! The Crew Was Very Nice."
Cons: "There Was No Entertainment For A Almost 2 Hr Flight."
Pros: "New plane!"
Cons: "Only offered pretzels even though there were cookies. I ha to breakfast them."
Cons: "Lots of turbulence."
Pros: "Great service and convenient flight."
Pros: "We boarded on time, we sat in the exit aisle, so we have a little extra room. They offered free movies, which my husband took advantage of. Pleasant flight"
Cons: "We had purchased the tickets months before flying - It was Quantas, but we flew on American and Alaska- no one seemed to talk to each other - not one site had the complete itinerary. Took hours of phone calls and a lot of anxiety before we completed the trip. I used my American airline frequent flyer card and even though we flew over 14000 miles, we got credit for 500."
Pros: "The comfortable sitting and good hospitality by staff. Timely departure and smooth landing of aircraft."
Pros: "Movie was free to watch and seat had usb to charge my phone."
Cons: "Paid extra for priority boarding, that was a mistake. We got boarding group one but by the time all the families with kids, first class, and frequent flyers went ahead of us they called all remaining groups together. Forget about overhead space left over, we had to gate check carry on. Seats were very uncomfortable, no room under the seat because of a big metal box for power outlets. No leg room, sat shoulders and thighs touching with neighbors. No meal service, just drinks and pretzels, luckily we picked up something to go changing planes in Dallas. Never again!"
Pros: "The crew very helpful and nice."
Cons: "On the flight home my seat wouldn't let back, so I had to sleep in an upright position. Lol"
