Old fashioned seat, no usb to charge my phone, battery went ;off and couldn't make a call to my family to assure them of a half way safe trip while stopping over for almost 6 hours in Ataturk Intl. Airport, Turkey.
clean. Seat covers nice and clean. furniture color scheme pleasant.
1. Seat distance by far too less.
2. seat width on the borderline of being acceptable.
3.. No entertainment, not even a flight info screen available.
4. Only instant coffee available. If it is instant, cappuccino or other café specialities should be available. Emirates and Etihad make the example.
5. Food okay - but not for french airline. No innovation, no thought in it. Standard "how do I get the cattle fed the cheapest possible" food.
6. Electrical / USB / Network plugs or WIFI unknown.
The seats were unbearable. I have flown an international flight before and it wasn't nearly as uncomfortable as this flight was. You people purposely make coach unbearable so that we pretty much have to suck it up and pay the extra money to fly in the better section where when I flew in Lufthansa it was comfy and I had no problems. I will NEVER fly with condor again after this trip. You are a pathetic excuse for an airline
Drinks trolley too slow, considering passengers on most European flights are paying for their drinks. Quick drinks trolley with the food trolley coming along behind would be much better, and a lot more happy passengers, One and a half hours,approx., from take-off when the food and drinks trolley, from the front, reached Row 10. Not good Willie!
You should board by seat numbers on European flights. Aisles too narrow on 320's (and equivalent), with passengers putting quite large carry-on luggage in the overhead lockers and slowing everything down plus discomfort to passengers already seated.
Otherwise a very pleasant an enjoyable flight. when the doors closed.
I was vary unhappy about our flights being move around and also delayed with no one to communicate these changes in English. We did get a voucher for food but since the flights where delayed with little time in between we did not have time to use it. Also our bags not making it with us ended up being an inconvenience but thankful that you had them shipped to us. This was the worst experience flying ever.
The service provided by the airline crew was magnificent. I enjoyed the entire flight from my departure point to the arrival point. Turkish Airline is my to go airline herein henceforth. I will implore prospective travelers to give the airline a shot (try). I can unequivocally attest that the decision to do so will not be regretted.
United has changed check-in to multi step process using Kiosks. Would not allow even 0.5 lbs over allowed limit of 50 lbs. for each individual bag, even though second bag was lower than allowable limit. I had middle seat in Premium Economy. My shoulders were pushing against persons sitting on each side. seat is 17" wide, my shoulders are over 20" wide. It was so uncomfortable that soon after take-off I moved to economy section for the only aisle seat available. The seat reclines only 5", so whether I reclined or not, the seat was very uncomfortable. The food served was way below par. TV dinner quantity was so little that I could have had 3 of those. Plastic cutlery of miniature size. Charged for alcoholic beverages (on transatlantic flight!!). Pleasant surprise was the availability of vegetarian option without pre-ordering before flight. For snack before landing, they served cold croissant. And they did not load one of my bags .... was supposed to be on the flight next day, but wasn't. So its been 2 days and I am still waiting on 1 of my 2 checked bags. And the wifi has not worked on any United flight so far for me. Way back in 2013 Turkish airline had working wifi and did not charge extra, unlike what United wants to do ... but they have to first get the wifi working.
Flight immediately after was Lufthansa. Even though I consider Lufthansa now as a "has been" airline, it pains to say that Lufthansa was much more comfortable. Seats reclined much more than United making them relatively much more comfortable than United. Regular size steel cutlery. Alcoholic beverages (limited choice, no rum but had Dewars) served.
I have flown many times on United from US to Europe and Asia. Last few years were mostly in Business Class and was very happy. I have accumulated over 200,000 miles in the last years and was a Gold status member with United for couple of years. But the cost cutting measures implemented by United in economy class over last few years puts it now on par with airlines like Frontier and Spirit in the domestic market. But the tix prices are on par with premium airlines.
I will be avoiding United for international travel.
