Cons: "I take this flight quite a lot. These comments are for this flight (MIA/MSP) - but not necessarily only for this exact flight that I took on 10/1. To be clear - the crew says "this is not AA", it is Republic Airlines". Well, they must think of themselves very poorly. Their food in first class is always changing - oh, I meant only the names for the same exact meal change. "Grilled Chicken with Couscous", "Grilled Chicken with Risotto", etc.. - all cold meals as they do not have an oven/microwave? on the plane. They are charging first class international prices for economy domestic service. For this amount of money, they should have better meals and a more modern airplane. The first class is always freezing (even in summer) while the rear cabin where the crew stays when not working, is hot. So if they make the first class happy with the correct temperature, they cook in the back. I have also observed more people than usual coughing and getting colds - both ways - than any of the other flights I take regularly (over 115,000 miles on AA this year). I would suggest that AA make it clear that Republic must offer better service to their customers - especially for the large airfares they are receiving."

Cons: "This was a plane with central screens along the aisle, and the airline chose to broadcast a sci-fi action movie with almost constant flashing blue light, and violent action scenes. This was first of all a movie that many people, including me, would never choose to watch, but since it was on the aisle screens there was no getting away from it. It was also unsuitable for children, even without sound. But mainly, I object to the showing of any film in that situation - only aisle screens available, and on a night flight where most of the passengers are trying to sleep. I was awakened several times by the flashing lights. Other things: one of the bathrooms was not very clean, and the plane felt like the usual cattlecar, with just 3 seats on each side of the aisle, which is unusual and unpleasant for a transatlantic flight."

We never received notification that anything was wrong with the flight and we were given the run around for 2 hours until they realized it was their fault and we missed the flight. Then they just offered a refund. In my opinion they were overbooked and did this on purpose, because it could have been resolved in minutes. I am disappointed with all parties involved including Kayak because of not notifying us of a problem. Thanks for ruining possibly the last time my father would be able to see his family and friends."

The thing that took the cake was that the cabin crew absolutely refused to let me take one of the 5 empty exit row seats telling me that it wasn't fair to the people who paid more, which absolutely enraged me. So then apparently it's also fair that their seats will fit someone who is 5'-4" comfortably but not someone who is 6'-4"?? So it's fair that I can't afford to pay an extra $100+ for it after my profession got gutted in the recession and I make a fraction now of that I used to make? Making your customers suffer for no good reason is inexcusable. I will not be flying United again. Ever."

Sat on tarmac for an hour or more, finally took off but missed connecting flight mid afternoon and no other acceptable flights until 11 pm getting into Fort Lauderdale at 730 am. (originally was supposed to be getting to Fort Lauderdale at 10 pm). Also, the aisle seats on the plane had a narrower underseat space that my little boxy carryon wouldn't fit into--and it usually fits under any underseat storage...Luckily the passenger in the middle was willing to swap places."
