Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Ease of travel"
Cons: "The food was horrible on the plane"
Pros: "Indifferent crew and confused/disorganised service!"
Cons: "Crew needs to be more engaging and helpful..."
Pros: "The crew was pleasant and helpful"
Cons: "No free snacks just drinks! Its a four hr flight. We left late due to slow boarding and they were slow to load baggage. The legroom is just too small for a flight over 2 hrs"
Pros: "Flight was on time. Boarding was quick."
Pros: "Friendliness of the crew."
Cons: "There is completely no free snacks, just drinks (excluding alcohol). The maintenance didn't sign some papers for the plane which cause the unnecessary delay."
Pros: "The variety of food for purchase was nice!"
Cons: "THERE WAS NO WIFI ON A 6HR FLIGHT!!! omg its 2019. mind blown."
Cons: "The flight was operated by Air Canada, who habitually assume either that the people in the final row have no hand luggage or simply suffer from a severe lack of operational storage capacity. Overhead bins full of spare plastic cups. As far as the crew are concerned, no problem, because you can just push your way three or four rows forward while everyone else is boarding and then take someone else's overhead space. When will Air Canada learn how to run an airline?"
Pros: "Very friendly crew. Great food. Good entertainment system. I sat in premium economy so can't say what the economy section was like."
Cons: "Plane was damn cold!"
Pros: "They got me home"
Cons: "Flight was delayed 2-3 times with no explanation. The food in the gate was trash . After boarding we waited on board for over a hour before take off , during which time someone was duct taping the inside of the plane together and I sat on a broken seat . The single flight attendant refused to take trash from people who didn’t finish their beverage . While the plane was reversing there was a huge bang and the plane shook as if we hit something . I observed gate agent repeatedly tell customers that she couldn’t help them find out if their flight was delayed and to just look at the computer board ."
Pros: "They were very kind and helpful when my daughter became unexpectedly ill during the flight, bringing cold wash cloths, ice etc, and they checked in on her regularly until landing. Much appreciated!"
Pros: "Great service friendly crew"
Pros: "Flight was on time"
Cons: "Didn't serve any free snacks or food."
Pros: "Everything but most importantly the excellent service onboard with some of the most caring and genuinely especially given that we were travelling with our four month old baby. And what a comfy plane the 787-9 is!"
Cons: "I’m nitpicking but the check-in experience was well inferior to the excellent airport and in-flight experience. The agent seemed to treat us as more of a nuisance than a client with special needs (4-month old baby). A little smile would go a long way to fix this."
Pros: "great crew."
Cons: "no wifi on a transatlantic 12 hour flight!!!!"
Cons: "Worst experience !!!!"
Cons: "For an overnight flight I would have expected the lights to be turned off, or at least dimmed. My plan to sleep and enjoy my day of return did not go ask planned."
Pros: "Pearson Airport puts the puddle jumper flights at the far, far, far end of the airport. That makes some sense."
Cons: "There's only one choice for refreshments, unless you count the cracker-amd-nuts machine. The seats are terrible. The assumption seems to be that no one waits long, but the experience proves the opposite, as wind, construction, security clearance for flight crews and who knows what else (any excuse will do) creates delays of more than an hour for people who end up standing along the walls and sitting on the floor waiting. Again, crews and ground staff for AC are not able to give accurate instructions or guidance for boarding flights. That airport is a mess."
Cons: "My Original flight was cancelled 3 hours prior to departure. Had to wait long lines at Air Canada customer service. Due to slowness of process, was not able to take other departing flights to other close airports. Had to stay the night at hotel."
Pros: "It was fine. :-)"
Pros: "This was the absolute worst experience of my life. Out flight from Calgary to LAX was on the complete other side of the airport than our connector to San Diego. After a delay we had a short amount of time to get to the next flight. We literally were told to just cross the parking lot. Well... that ended up being a 25 minute run across the airport to only have to go thru security again. After navigating construction and parking structures we got to our gate 10 minutes late and would not be let on the flight. There was zero communication, sympathy or help from the United Airlines staff. We were told it was not their problem because we came in through Air Canada- BUT we booked through United! All in all it was an absolute nightmare that ended in us renting a car at 12am and driving back to San Diego with zero compensation from United Airlines"
Cons: "No communication between airlines! No customer service to fix their lack of planning and communication. Just terrible all around"
Pros: "Check in and out is very smooth."
Cons: "The long layover."
Cons: "Flights got delayed both going away and coming home. They almost lost baggage and I was going on a cruise the following day. Workers didn't seem to care that I was going to miss my connection. Kinda made it the connecting city's problem."
Cons: "Not on time. I missed my connecting flight"
Pros: "No delay. The plane came half an hour early which is ok. There was no complimentary food but drinks were offered. It would have been nice if peanuts/cookies/chips were offered. There was no entertainment so the rating was 1star. Emails were sent to inform us of changes in schedule and also to check in on line. Leg room is good as we can stretch our legs (I guess you can say that we are not that tall) we wish to travel again with Air Canada in the future."
Pros: "It was a short flight."
Cons: "Passengers over a certain size should get two seats or the airline should install special seats for them. Why I or anyone else should have to endure being crammed in next to someone exceeding his seat size is indefensible."
Cons: "On both outbound and inbound trips (connecting with international flights) the flight was late. Both times the door was closed and then they informed us of the delay. I understand that smaller planes often get bumped, but on the outbound leg, a 20 minute delay on the tarmac and then not allowing us to deplane for another 15 minutes meant I missed the connecting flight."
Cons: "Delayed 3 hours"
Pros: "North American flights are definitely not as comfortable as in Asian flights"
Pros: "Very pleasant flight crew and helpful. Always had a smile."
Cons: "The boarding process at the gate. There were 8 or 9 gates crammed into a small section of the airport. Literally packed in like cattle and getting to the gate for departure was a nightmare, people had to shove and push through the crowd. Not a good experience!"
Pros: "Airplane features like the comfortable seating, leg room and window dimming capability. Head rest entertainment center and Flight Info graphics were great."
Cons: "Overall the crew seemed bored and tired with their job. On-board announcements sounded disinterested, and crew seemed tight and not overly pleasant."
Pros: "Good entertainment options, roomy seats"
Cons: "Nothing I can complain about really."
Pros: "Polite and friendly crew"
Cons: "Connection was a hectic with staff sending up and down to get our boarding passes. TSA had short lines but long wait and a lot of attitude."
Pros: "Flight was late. No device from air Canada"
Pros: "When our flight was delayed 7 hours due to a maintenance issue, air canada did find another plane"
Cons: "The plane was dirty, smelly, 7 hours late. We sat in the Tarmac for 4 hours with one bag of pretzels and a small water. Completely unacceptable. Never again."
Pros: "Comfortable, quiet, fantastic technology"
Cons: "Long line and not much organization during boarding"
Pros: "It was a short flight!!"
Cons: "The movies had no sound!"
Cons: "Only in Canada they make you remove headset for takeoff and landing."
Pros: "Safe and efficient."
Cons: "Poor seat room. Food quality mediocre."
Cons: "Flight delayed more than 3.5 hours, first due to scheduling issues and then due to weather. Checked bags were left outside in pouring rain throughout delay, staff unable/unwilling to cover or move them. Not given food vouchers or any other compensation during wait, everything in the terminal closed before departure anyway. Gate changed 4 times, terminal was sweltering, like waiting in a greenhouse. Awful."
Pros: "I've been taking this flight for many years. The flight times, crew, and boarding process are all excellent. The food is always very good for a plane flight with plenty of options. When awake, the new seats are a pleasure and I especially appreciate the extra storage areas."
Cons: "By definition, this flight is long-haul with the necessity to sleep on it. In executive class, they have recently changed the "seats". The old ones were too cramped (narrow) for a 6 ft guy. The new ones are not only narrow but the table that telescopes down restricts the vertical height when the seat is fully down. It is literally impossible to lay on your side. This was a horrendous design and unacceptable for a sleeping flight."
Pros: "I liked that the head rests bent so I could rest my head on something"
Cons: "There is not a lot of legroom back in the economy section - I'm 5'7" and I kept hitting my knees on the back of the seat in front of me, so if I was any taller that would have been very uncomfortable."
Cons: "They lost my luggage!!!!!!!!"
Pros: "Nothing about the airline ."
Cons: "At the bwi airport they have to agent u can talk to except u have to wait when they are boarding a flight before u can see someone at the front desk . Lost my bag and even the airport police said it's a normal thing as they get complains every day . Called a million times and they still won't give me detail info. I classify them as the worst airline I've ever used in my 30th ears of travel and if they are the only airline on earth I rather never travel"
Pros: "As opposed to my flight from Tokyo to Toronto, the return leg from Toronto to Baltimore had only one exception, which was that the flight attendant was very nice."
Cons: "From boarding (everything was late, from departure to arrival), to how the baggage carousel announcement was wrong, and up to the bus that will take us back to the parking (all the other buses: Amtrak/Marc, Long Term A, Daily Parking, Express Parking came and went for about 4 times or more but none came for Long Term B, you can see all the frustration from the other waiting passengers, including us). A lot of improvements needed from BWI airport if they want to retain their customers."
Cons: "Much too cold, kept me from sleeping"
Cons: "The flight attendant call bell and the overhead lighting controls are on the touch-screen. However, there are also buttons on the arm rests. What a pain! I alone must have generated 3 or 4 flight attendant false alarms by leaning on the arm rest. Other passengers did the same. Lights were going on and off, bells chimed each time someone leaned on the buttons. How stupid an oversight. I hope the aircraft's great safety systems they talk about during the pre-flight briefing are better thought out!"
Pros: "The flight attendant was excellent and friendly and made this short flight more pleasant."
Cons: "We missed this flight due to poor planning on Air Canada's part. Then the rescheduled flight was cancelled due to weather, and then Air Canada tried to refuse to pay for our hotel expenses. We should never have missed the first flight to begin with! When we finally got on our plane two days late, I found that the seats could not fit an average sized person comfortably. My neighbors elbow was in my chest the whole time and my seat was completely broken. The entire seat actually fell off of the chair multiple times during this very short flight. Most uncomfortable flight I have ever experienced."
Pros: "The movie/TV/games/etc selection was excellent! The crew were especially friendly and helpful. Also, thank you very much for accommodating my dietary constraints."
Cons: "The seats are pretty tight for someone my height (6'2"). The plane was brand new and it's clear that they have sacrificed comfort for capacity. My knees hit seat in front of me when it is reclined any amount. Since I had injured my knee during my travel in Japan there was added discomfort. I attempted to upgrade to more legroom at check-in, but the only option was business class which would have been at least $500, something I could not afford."
