Pros: "My flight was amazing---amazing in the fact that I had to be on top of flight status and was rudely spoken to by the sellers of the ticket. They almost cancelled my entire trip, even though I paid for it, because while at work I could not pick up the phone when they called me. This site is seriously a scam to buy your ticket from. I survived and was able to go---but I would never encourage anyone to buy through this site, unless you just really love living a nightmare. If you love nightmares, why not. Go ahead."

Cons: "Right from the start, customer service was not compassionate in helping out. I was forced to leave my huge luggage behind in order to make it to the next available flight. In addition, American Airlines continued delaying their flight departure times like it was no big deal.. It was stressful for many passengers. This other woman and I had a second plane to get onto, and were worried that we wouldn’t be able to get to the next plane ride because the first plane ride was pushed back like around 10 times or so. This is my first experience with American Airlines, and absolutely do not have a good impression whatsoever. I do not support this airline because it is clear that they do not value their customer’s satisfaction, wellbeing, or schedules."
Cons: "charged a surprise of $175 for my third bag although Kayak mentioned i should be charged $75 at the time of booking. AA says it is due to Jordanyan Airlines, why was I surprised by this extra charge?!"
Pros: "Again, we had heard stories of kids being separated from adults, but all family was together. Many entertainment options and friendly staff. Also, when I asked at gate, the attendant allowed our family with 3 kids ages 5, 7, 9 to board with one of the earlier groups. That helped a lot as it took the kids a little longer to get all set and we were not hurried."

This seems to slow the process of boarding as know passengers are asked multiple times to check baggage (for free, which is the one nice thing) before boarding b/c the overheads will be too full. Group 6 which I was in seemed like it was just the rest of the plane. Super busy, took me forever to get to my seat all the way in the back. Why don't airlines reverse board? People sitting in the back should board first. I feel like this would save so much time."

Pros: "Horrible hospitality. The flight was initially delayed for computer issues which understandably happens. However, we were later switch to another plane 4 hr later, boarded, de iced, taxied, then notified he flight was cancelled at 1 am because the crew hit their maximum work time. We were de-boarded. There was no organization to get vouchers passed out. The hotel ran out of rooms for passengers. The whole trip was 16 hrs delayed and no customer service provided."

Cons: "One half hour before boarding we learned there was a delay. Obviously, American Airlines knew way before this time of the delay. At 6:00 p.m we were told they were bringing another plane from the hanger. The plane showed up around 9:00 p.m ... must be a long trip from the hanger. Then we were told they are waiting on a rear flight crew from another flight. After getting the rear flight crew, we were told that the front flight crew "timed out" and they had to look for other pilots. Needles to say after arriving at West Palm Beach at 1:00 in the morning...about four hours late the passengers were all devastated. American could have orchestrated this so much better"

Real shame - food just wasted...unnecessary and just adds to costs of flights at end of day :-/ Customs & Gate in Clt delay could have been handled better. Continuously told us we were deplaning and then silence...several times...very frustrating after 9 hour flight. Better communication and organization in customs would be appreciated Otherwise, crew was very polite and overall good job"

Cons: "This comment is to explain my disappointment with both British Airways and American Airlines. I purchased three plane tickets via Kayak to fly on British Airways to Rome, Italy on July 14, 2016. I discovered that my trip going to Rome would be operated by American Airlines. I have flown American Airlines on a number of occasions (nationally and internationally), so I did not believe it would present a problem. I was sorely mistaken. My scheduled flight from DCA to JFK was delayed for an hour due the airplane's malfunction. My family and I were trapped on the airplane on the runway along with countless others. I thought this would be the end of the airplane ordeal, but again I was sorely mistaken. When we arrived to JFK, an hour later than expected, we were informed to go to Gate 47 for boarding. I checked on the status of the plane via American Airlines website. I discovered that the gate was changed, AGAIN, to a different location (Gate 14). For this trip I received over a dozen e-mails with gate change information. For ONE trip. I went to the American Airlines Counter to confirm whether the gate changed to 14. Your own personnel was not even aware of the change until I informed him. He originally said it did not change, but after I stated that the gate changed on the website he checked his computer system and made an announcement to passengers that the gate changed to 14. This is unprofessional. Your employees who are paid to work at the American Airlines counter should be aware of all status changes for flights. It gets better. Note my sarcasm. The flight gets delayed for six. To put it into perspective, my family and I were at the airport from at least 2:30pm until 10pm. This is utterly unacceptable. I traveled with my senior citizen parents. There are hardly any meal options for passengers with dietary restrictions to consume at Terminal 8 for JFK. While it was the least American Airlines could do by supplying healthy snacks for the passengers, a banana or orange does NOT replace or make for an actual dinner. Additionally, there was no announcement made about the snacks the first time. Only the second time. Next, American Airlines changed the gate location AGAIN, but to gate 8. Further adding insult to injury, the flight was delayed. My family and I are scheduled for a tour that is dependent on this flight arriving on time. Any further delay will bring about additional unexpected costs in Italy to make-up for the fact we arrived late. American Airlines is supposed to be a premier airline, but after today's experience I surely cannot see myself being a passenger for this airline ever again. Along the same token, since British Airways contracted American Airlines, this company also holds equal culpability."
