Pros: "Worst airline ever. I live in NYC and had a trip to Peru. Five flights in total. Only ONE of them worked out. Two were delayed by hours (Avianca's fault) and two others I missed because of Avianca's delays. Never flying Avianca again. Ever ever."

First I had to change the dates because of family emergency and that costed me $400 extra. When I got the gate about to board the plane, the system did not update the change and someone else had my seat. I missed my flight and was not compensated for this error. I was stuck in the airport or whole night and the next morning I had to pay $400 again to find a different flight. OVERALL, it was the most horrible experience ever. Never buying these kind of tickets again."

Pros: "It was my first time flying and I almost missed my flight. I was at the wrong gate. When realized my mistake I started walking over to the right gate, and they were asking for me. They told me to run towards the plane entrance as it was almost departing. I later came to find out that they called my emergency contact to ask where I was. I feel that no other airline would have done this. For that reason I will only use Avianca Airlines to travel to Colombia, or other countries in South America."

The breakfast (this was a red-eye) consisted of scrambled "eggs" and hashbrowns, neither of which was distinguishable from the other. I would rather them not serve food at all than have foreign visitors think this is the food that represents our country. Pro tip: eat beforehand and bring some snacks. Pretend to be asleep when they come by with the food trays."

Then the pilot said that our bags are usually weighed and computerized for even distribution on the plane. That system was also down, so we sat on the runway waiting for that problem to be fixed. When we arrived at Barcelona, I unpacked and discovered a jacket and pants in my luggage were wet. The only place that could have happened was at JfK during their rain storm and the luggage weight issue."

Pros: "I paid 60 bucks for an emergency row exit, take get some extra leg room and space so that I would be fresh when I arrived in Munich. However KLM allowed a passenger — who did not pay for the emergency row to sit next to me because he needed the extra space because he was a liarge man, and clearly didn’t fit very well in the economy seats. Thus I I lost all the extra space and actually would of preferred a regular economy seat. that would’ve been more preferential then paying $60 and getting less space than I would’ve had it in a regular economy. I understand the other passengers comfort was important and if that was the case he should’ve paid $60 as well."

Cons: "they charge 300$ extra for a 14 year old child and dont give any service for the payment, they say it is to bring the child on and off the plane even though he can travel alone and has done it many times with other air lines. drive the parents uo the wall, make them wait endless time, and then they comlaine that thay have no time tofor the child and leave him standing with out even letting him to seat with the other air lines a child of 12 can travel alone."

Cons: "The gate for the connecting flight from NY to Rome wasn't posted at the terminal or available via the Delta aps. The Kayak AP didn't have it either. I found out late that it was practially at a different airport. With less than an hour I had to take a bus to a different terminal, walk through, exit onto the street, cross the street and walk down the block to a different terminal. Then I had to re-enter through security (where the line was wrapped back to the front doors). Had the flight not been delayed for mechanical issues I would have missed it. My flights were purchased through Delta. If Delta uses different airlines they should post gate information on their web sites."

Surprised by this, I thought Delta was a better airline. Staff on plane was courteous and worked hard for entire trip."

Not fancy but kind flight attendants, standard economy class (meaning, as bad as all the others for space, definitely not the worst Ive flown, much better than cheap european airlines), had an on time connection in Panama... I would definitely fly again. I speak Spanish but all Copa staff speak English, so it was really easy."

All went much better when flights left directly from David. David is manageable. Tocumen IS NOT. The flight crew to Belize City was ok. Trip to Panama. I messed my connecting flight because, once again, THE WHEELCHAIR was missing. A stewardess led me to the location, but by the time we got there, the flight had left."

Are you working with American Airlines to improve their customer service? Surely, because you offer their flights in your site you support their practices. I just wanted a comfortable and reliable flight for my family. It's been very frustrating so far..."

Best of all, seat overhead bins were empty so could store carry-on; This was unusual. Flight was great, but I love flying. Cockpit crew provided status updates, and captain's apology made the late departure more understandable. Deplaning process went smoothly also."
Cons: "After everyonel was timely boarded waiting to push away from the gate, announcement was that the captain was not even in the airport. Flight delayed almost an hour. Seat would not recline, not even an inch so basically sat upright entire flight to London. One has to 'flag' staff if seen as they walked past thru the main cabin. No announcement which area to collect ones luggage, nor staff there to explain, or guide. Forget staff assistance, apparently not a priority with AA."

Cons: "Flight was delayed vecause there was no pilot for one hour. We missed connecting flight and ended up with several delayed flights, so our 11 hour trip turned out to be 32 hour long. Also, they messed up with food order, but after some time they managed to bring suitable food from business class. Some of the staff was unfriendly and whining. And our party of three was scattered around the plane, other families sitting nearby too. A little bit greedy company selling seat selection option when they could arrangeit nicely, but just don’t do it in order to get few people to pay for otherwise normal thing."

Cons: "The plane was so old the overhead lights didn’t work in our section (who failed to check that??). The overhead bins fell open at landing and things almost fell on people’s heads. There was subpar entertainment options that hadn’t been updated since at least the 90s, which was made even less acceptable since it was literally the only option for entertainment on a 7+ hour flight when none of the overhead lights worked. For a ticket that cost more than $1200, the failure of the airline on nearly all levels to provide standard services was completely unacceptable."

We sat in front of the lavatory and could not sleep because every time someone used it, the light flashed in our eyes and the flush was quite loud. I paid extra for the seats we had but did not know they were right by noisy bright rest room."

Cons: "The plane itself was clearly an older model, lacking many amenities I’ve come to expect flying coach. The overhead compartments were too small for larger carryon luggage, and no one on the crew alerted passengers to this. Thus, many passengers had to go against the traffic of those still boarding to find space for luggage. My seat was at the back of the plane so I had to spend close to 15 extra minutes walking back to the front against boarding passengers to find a place to put my luggage. A simple warning from the crew when I boarded would have prevented mine and many others unnecessary trouble simply boarding. During a very turbulent flight, the captain nor the crew made any announcements about turbulence, our safety, or our progress. Also during the flight, one of the flight attendants got into an awkward verbal spat with one of the passengers. Completely unprofessional and bothersome. Additionally, I had fallen asleep when dinner was being first served, but woke up before it was finished. A flight attendant approached me and asked if I’d like a dinner to which I replied “Yes”. The flight attendant never returned with a dinner for me, thus I did not eat the dinner, which I had paid for. Lastly, and perhaps most disturbing, was what transpired when a passenger had a medical emergency. With no warning, all of the airplane lights turned on and a loud “CODE RED” was announced over the sound system. Imagine being a sleeping passenger like myself, during a very turbulent flight, to be suddenly awoken to bright lights and a CODE RED shouted loudly over the PA. I’m not overexaggerating when I say that I was preparing for the worst. A truly terrifying moment that I am certain was shared with many others on board. To make matters even worse, as a flight attendant rushed to find a first aid kit (which she had trouble finding) she opened up the compartment over my partners seat and dropped a passengers ipad on her head. The flight attendant did return to apologize, but it was little consolation compared to the stress and panic the crew created. I have flown many times, and this was easily the worst flight of my life. American Airlines should be ashamed of the conditions they put their passengers in and they have lost two customers for good."
Cons: "We left two hours after scheduled departure bc 1) the plane was late from prior flight and had to be cleaned, 2) engine check delayed the flight, 3) strong winds forced the airport (JFK) to use only one runway for departures and so on top of our plane delays we were delayed an extra half hour bc of airplane traffic. No entertainment onboard, meaning no screen on back of seat in front for movies, tv shows, etc. Food options were poor, especially breakfast (too much sugar content in all contents of “continental breakfast” pack."
