Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "Flight was unable to land in Vancouver due to aircraft problem, and diverted to Seattle. Spent the night there; still waiting to get back the next morning. Serious disruption of business day for my wife and me as a result."
Pros: "Nice crew."
Cons: "Would have liked some better movie choices."
Cons: "They didn’t put enough fuel in the tank and the pilot only noticed when we were next in line to take-off so that led to a 30 minute delay. Some terrible seat designer put the call button and light control on the armrest exactly where your elbow rests so every few seconds you would here a call bell."
Cons: "The seat padding was a little worn."
Pros: "The in seat entertainment."
Cons: "The seats were uncomfortable and very small. No offering of water or soda other then the one time."
Cons: "Connecting flight in Toronto late 4 HOURS!!!!! There is no excuse for such delay. Another plane should have been made available for the flight."
Pros: "The fly attendants were very nice. The plane is old. The overhead storage is so small that it was hard to fit in carry on luggage's."
Pros: "Our seats were much better on this flight than our longer leg. I was much more comfortable. The entertainment was just as good as our international flight."
Pros: "The food quality improved on the return flight from Seoul to Vancouver. We sat net to an exit door on the reurn flight which provided extra leg room"
Cons: "My wife and I flew 7 legs on Air Canada. Six out of the 7 were delayed 40 minutes or more. The food on the trip from Vancouver to Seoul wasn't very good either."
Pros: "The same as above, perfect"
Pros: "Love, love, love flying on a Dash-8. Perfect size plane provides flying without all the hassles. From check-in to baggage pick-up, our flight was perfect. Thank you Air Canada for an enjoyable experience."
Pros: "The staff were very friendly."
Cons: "Some of the equipment on the airplane didn't work. TV monitors."
Pros: "Very nice crew and a quick flight to the states."
Cons: "The seating area in the gates was extremely crowded as passengers waiting to board. This is definitely the worst part of the Toronto airport. This section could offer more space, more seating, and more food and beverage options."
Pros: "Crew was very helpful and nice, plane was new and in a very good condition. Flight was not fully booked so we could move around and take even 4 seats to lay down and fly comfortably."
Cons: "Boarding was over an hour later than it supposed to be. Toronto always has some " surprises" for passengers. Food could be better."
Pros: "Comfort, on time, friendly staff"
Cons: "There was no USB port or an outlet on my seat to charge my cellphone."
Cons: "This flight and my next connecting one (also Air Canada) were both delayed by 45 minutes each. That's an hour and a half of wasted time. Thankfully, I just assumed there would be a delay so I booked a later connection in advance. The weather was perfect and there was no explanation on either flight as the why we were almost an hour delayed. I'm expected to arrive 2 hours in advance of a flight. Why is it so hard for this airline to be on time?"
Cons: "Air Canada also bumped our flight to 3 hrs earlier."
Cons: "Everything. Crowded. Cramped. The curtain between First Class and Economy was archaic and insulting. On my departure flight, I had the unfortunate row that divided the elite from the peasants. IIt enabled me to see how the staff fawned over the Elite while we waited for minimal attention."
Cons: "Air Canada stopped flying to SLC while we we're on our trip. so it made the connections to other flights after getting to Toronto (from Amsterdam) really tricky and tight on time. While on the flight from Amsterdam, things were great, but that stress of being rerouted was not great..."
Cons: "The movie selection was limited. The stewardess were not very friendly and were hard to hear,"
Cons: "Twice now Air Canada has changed flight itineraries into SLC, this time by one day, making a 26 hour layover in Toronto and another time a 48 hour layover by changing the flight by two days."
Pros: "The crew was very friendly and attentive."
Cons: "Flight was late from Barcelona to Mintreal by an hour. I needed a wheelchair - didn't show up! Then pulled a muscle trying to get through customs and they barely held my flight to Chicago. Made it, with No Help. Late into Chicago and still no wheelchair. There was no one from whom to get help. Finally a United Airlines employee took pity on me and got a wheelchair to me and got me to the flight - again, just barely. Over 20 hours in the air, no assistance and poor food. I will never fly air canada again - ever. Not worth the savings. I've spent an entire week recovering and spent the savings on physical therapy due to the damage to my legs."
Pros: "- On time performance - Friendly crew - Comfortable flights"
Cons: "- Lengthy check-in. We waited one hour in line to check-in. - Flight had no access to a gate. Boarding done through tarmac and buses."
Pros: "always has extra seats available."
Cons: "A lot of families with kids, dirty lavatory due to low passenger profile. Rude flight attendant while having seated before take off. Dirty Boarding area. Poor food quality."
Pros: "The person next to me was moved...so I had the whole row to myself. It was comfortable!"
Cons: "No food was served other than snacks for purchase."
Cons: "Entertainment system. Spacious seating for economy class."
Pros: "The service was good."
Cons: "The children screaming 70 percent of the flight. The person in front of me throwing up. Just very uncomfortable."
Cons: "Airplane quality Seat dimensions Food quality Allowing passengers to sit where they pleased Dysfunctional entertainment system"
Pros: "Direct flight and good schedule"
Cons: "The price was higher than Delta direct flight but I chose AC because of my top tier status on AC. That got me a complimentary upgrade but the entertainment system did not work"
Cons: "The flight was fine, but when I got home, I had two charges on my credit card from Air Canada. When I called, the woman didn't know what they could be for, so she told me to email Air Canada flight feedback. I still haven't heard from them."
Cons: "My boyfriend and I were flying from Toronto to Salt Lake City, we didn't pay for assigned seating (because who really wants to dish out extra money for something as silly as that?) and thought that it just meant that we still had seats on the plane and they just might not be next to each other which was fine. We did online check in and having our tickets sent to our phones (his worked fine and mine never came through, yes, we triple checked to make sure my phone number and everything was correct). Both of our tickets ended up saying the seat was GTE so when we got to the terminal (two hours early) the moment an employee was behind the counter we went up to talk to them and they said that we would get a seat on the flight and that it wouldn't be a problem at all for us to sit together. Right before they start boarding an announcement is made that the flight was overbooked (by 8 people!) and they were asking if anyone would be willing to give up their seat and receive compensation (no one would). So, all 8 of us had to go up to the same snarky man who had told us that we WOULD be getting seats and have him explain to us that the next flight isn't until tomorrow and we had to go to the Air Canada customer service desk to get the flight plan figured out. We had to wait 2 hours in line just to talk to someone who tried to make Air Canada out to be the victims (how dare we not want to pay $40 for a seat and because of our frugality poor Air Canada now has to compensate us for the inconvenience AND get us new plane tickets, we should feel so bad for them because they are now losing money). We had to wait for about 40 minutes with this lady because she was either new or not competent enough to figure out how to get us new tickets with Delta (guess why Delta? because Air Canada had already overbooked the flight out for the next day too! Looks like they'll be losing some more money). Oh yeah, she also scolded my boyfriend for having his plane ticket on his phone, because it inconvienenced her. That lady finally left and we finally got help from someone who actually knows what decent customer service is (shout out to Michelle Khan at Air Canada). She was really nice and understanding and was actually able to go through the process of getting us tickets and in a timely manner. She explained that while it is a complete joke, by law flights are allowed to overbook their flights by up to 10% of seats available on the flight. We could understand overbooking by a couple, but really, 8? Never fly with Air Canada."
Cons: "Flight got delayed over 1 hr"
Cons: "Being stranded in Toronto for 24 hours with Air Canada unwilling to rebook us on other carriers to get us home sooner. Given our prediction of the missed connection and request for rebooking before our first leg of travel, it was particularly irritating that they would not help us get home the most efficient way."
Pros: "The crew was very friendly."
Cons: "The plane boarded early and the food was not good. The pasta was over cooked and essentially a mash."
Cons: "Put on stand-by because flight oversold. No notice. Finally got on at the last moment. Our bags did not arrive."
Pros: "Nothing to like about this airline. Horrible people especially in toronto, really unhelpful, extremely rude."
Cons: "Air line decided they didn't want me to take my connecting flight. Removed my luggage without consulting with me. Offered me a disgusting hotel. Forced me to pay out of pocket for food, taxis, transfers and my own hotel choice. Staff were so rude. No explanation to why they removed my bags. I made it in plenty of time for my connecting flight but airline had just decided. No staff member was interested in answering my questions or helping. They all just wanted to sod off home. they just didn't care."
Pros: "The crew were nice. I like the type of plane. It arrived basically on time, with my luggage."
Cons: "First, I despise Air Canada's new policy of charging $25 per segment per passenger to get a seat assignment - any seat assignment. This isn't a surcharge for more leg room, or to move to business class - it is for the ability to pick seats at all. That means that if I want to sit next to my spouse on a simple direct flight, the cost is $100 round trip ($25 x 4)! For that much money, we should not only be seated together, we should be seated together at a very nice restaurant (which is exactly where we spent the $100 that we refused to spend on seat assignments). Second, my particular seat wasn't clean. Someone had been sick, and it wasn't completely cleaned up. Maybe getting a clean seat is an additional surcharge? The nice stewardess helped me and with some sanitizing hand wipes we were able to get rid of the remnants stuck on my tray and the wall of the aircraft (of course, since I didn't pay for a seat assignment, I ended up in a last row window seat in a plane without middle seats)."
Cons: "They lost my bag which was full of important clothing I needed for interviews this week."
Cons: "Squeezed in like sardines. Nickled and dimed at every turn."
Pros: "I liked the meal that was served and that if you didnt want to pay for the ipad, you could access TV on your phone."
Cons: "I didnt like that there were not individual TVs for my 10 hour fllght. I would have appreciated the entertainment on such a long flight, especially the movies which I could not access without the app. I also felt that more snacks should have been provided."
Pros: "May eventually get home."
Cons: "Damn Turkey political instability!"
Pros: "The plane was newer and clean."
Cons: "For the price I would have expected a little more. The food wasn't good it was just mac n cheese with bread."
Cons: "Food was very poor compared to other international flights I've been on. The staff was not very friendly I'm sorry to say!"
Cons: "To start, this flight was overbooked which I understand is a perfectly normal aspect of flying. However, the seats on this airline were so close to one another my legs were hitting the seat in front of me. I'm a thin 6' tall man, and I was uncomfortable the entire time. I've flown Air Canada many times but I've never experienced such a cramped seating experience with them. It was as if they added an extra five rows to the plane."
Cons: "Uncomfortable airplane. Old."
Pros: "GOOD LEG ROOM"
Cons: "THE FOOD STILL SUCKED."
Cons: "Was upgraded, so higher level of satisfaction"
