I was happy but not blown away but the carrier. I was spoiled last time I took a 14h trip to Japan on JAL in a dreamliner. That was amazing. This was about what I'd expect on a flight in a 737 to Chicago from Boston, but it was about five times longer! At least they had good food and the entertainment options were great.

The checkin counter experience was not good. I had business class tickets but was checkin at an Economy counter resulting in my boarding pass not being for business class so when I went in to immigration lines and throughout the rest of the process I did not receive priority that Business class should have received. In addition when I enquirer about TSA preaplroval at the counter I was told Chicago does not have preaplroval at Terminal 5 but in reality passengers with TSA-pre were being sent through the lines without having to take off their shoes and laptops etc. overall the checkin process should have been much more informative.

Free movies, and crew were helpful once we were in the air

Gate agent did not start forcing check in, which caused delay in boarding. Ground crew did not stock aircraft until 20 minutes after scheduled departure time. and DFW did the usual 20 minute taxi and then 15 minute hold prior to take off.

The only decent point was the food. Not great but at least edible.

Since check in in São Paulo was a complete chaos. There were only 2 people helping on check in (in machines) and these people were still not helping people (like me) with questions about on how to do check in in those machines. On the other hand to dispatch the bags there were almost 8 attendants to receive the bags. Ridiculous! I’ve tried calling American Airlines and Latam several times to assign a seat for me and they swore there were only middle seats but I know how airlines work to make extra money on these seats. At the end, they only gave me a middle seat option and I had to take I.t of course. On the plane I realized there were dozens of empty seats and yet they made sure not give them to me or anyone else. Unbelievable! Unfortunately I still have to use AA on my way back to Brazil. After this, I’ll chose another airlines for sure. Also, the 3,4,3 arrangement is ridiculous: there’s no corridor space making people touching you everything someone passes by your seat. And boy! Those seats are so uncomfortable and there’s no way to incline the chair so you can even have a little rest (because it’s impossible to even sleep on those seats). The crew were simply doing their jobs! No pleasure! No smile! No engaging with anyone unfortunately! They looked miserable and I asked for water and the flight attendant NEVER brought me anything. Seriously! Water is free!

I ordered a special meal and it was delicious! Because I have dietary concerns, I often have to order a special meal. Usually, I find that the alternatives meals are second thoughts and thus can be rather tasteless. I was very thankful for my meal.

The plane was so tiny we were packed in it like sardines. I am a rather small person (barely 5 feet tall) and usually have no complaints about space on a flight but even my knees hit the back of the seat in front of me.

The flight staff was rude, the wrong gas was put in the plane causing a delay, I missed my connection because of this where they wrote it was delayed because "it was snowing in Savannah" which was a blatant lie, but made it so they did not have to help me in any way since their delay was "weather" related. They could not get my to my destination until noon the next day which forced me to buy a new flight on Alaska air. My flight on Alaska was absolutely fantastic and I regret ever buying any United flight and will not in the future.

I appreciated the food and service from the stewardesses was great. The red embroidered apron was a nice touch.

My luggage was late, and I did not receive it until 24 hours after I landed in Hanoi. This caused a big inconvenience. I had packed my things very carefully, and most of what I needed the first day was in there.

United is no longer customer friendly. Personnel on ground are like robots. They no longer recognize loyal customers as the core. Stewardess and stewards are not courteous. The steward was chewing while serving food. No more what high standards are about. Just to get through with the job. Sad.

I dint know i needed a chinese visa to travel to shanhai, My flight began on denver then seattle and from seattle i wasnt able to fly to china. I received no help at all, all they did was cancel my booking not received any kind of refund and i got stuck in seattle, i had to buy new tickets to go back to denver after losing my flights and not getting a dime back, this is unacceptable!

Told me the only way I might get a refund is to submit online but that paying extra for a seat upgrade doesn’t mean I will actually get one and that I should read the fine print on the ticket. Had previously spoken to another gate agent who had told me that I could ask for a refund at the departing gate. Wifi didn’t work. On one of three delayed flights had to beg for water to take my medicine. I will make extra efforts to avoid using this mediocre airline.
