Pros: The crew on flight HX 538 from HK to HcM was excellent. All members were very patient in dealing with many non English speaking travelers.
Cons: Food on HK Airlines I have to rate as the worst of all the airlines I flew on.
Cons: We are not happy and had to buy new tickets for travel for $10,000
Pros: The food was good, ground crew in both Hong Kong and Vancouver airports are really nice and helpful
Cons: The crew in the airplane needs to be more accommodating
Pros: Boarding is efficient. Food is good. Flight attendants are very responsive.
Cons: It so happened that the check-in system was down for maintenance. I waited over an hour just to get a boarding pass.
Pros: New Airbus 350-900 with excellent nose wheel and tail forward view where we watched our takeoff and landing. Enough choices on entertainment system to satisfy one on a 15hr flight. Lots of self serve snacks and drinks mid-flight.
Cons: Flying in economics but that was my choice and long 4hr layover in HKG
Pros: Check in and boarding was easy and efficient. Easy to book flight online
Cons: No food nor entertainment, but that's what you get on a cheap flight
Pros: It was all good except baggage policy.
Cons: Not paying more for the baggage than the ticket.
Pros: On Time KIX Terminal One
Cons: Limited leg rooms Lack of pockets at seat back
Pros: The on board staff were very helpful and pleasant!
Cons: We were allowed a carry on bag on our way to Narita. On the way back to Okinawa, they said it was too large (by 1”!) and we had to pay to check it. The flight was not full and there was a great deal of empty space in the overhead bins. I was not happy about this.
Pros: The flight from Manila to Kansai was ok.
Cons: Many things. Extra luggage I’ve paid for wasn’t registered when we checked. Also, Kix and Narita didn’t allow our stroller that is IATA certified to be on hand carry even if it was allowed in our flight outside of Manila.
Pros: Punctuality and Arriving safely
Cons: Minimal leg room
Pros: For flying economy, I thought the seat space was good - far better than their compatriot, Ural Airlines. The plane was clean, the flight was without incident.
Cons: Nothing really: but I expect what I got flying economy. Wish they had an economy+. This is kind of a long flight not to have any form of entertainment; and maybe the plane should be larger. 6.5 hours.
Pros: Flight attendants just perfect
Cons: One hour delay in terminal, another one on board without air-condition
Pros: thank you
Pros: Liked the free sandwich on the flight which was over the lunch hour.
Pros: The Chinese people were wonderful! But I was required to pass thru security checks 3 times arriving. 3 times transiting and 3 times leaving. At customs, transit and departure. No common sense to their process only"letter of the law". For example I was taking beef jerky to my friends in Thailand but the Chinese security has a meat sniffing dog and they confiscated it as well as the girl in front of me More than $100 worth of jerky. They should have given it back at departure gate. I had to buy more in their duty free shop. Also they cancelled my flight without advising me but did get me on Thai airways later that day. Too much hassle to Transit China
Cons: Security
Pros: Empty seats
Cons: Everything else. Staff was rude and did not speak English, food was terrible, and the airport was very confusing. We had a 4 hour layover at Xiamen airport and instead of going straight to our gate, they made us go through immigration, then transfer services, then back through immigration. We landed at 5am, the transfer services open at 6, then check in opens at 6:50, but we weren’t allowed to check in until 8am because our flight was at 10am. We basically stood in line without anyone giving clear instructions and waited at different line ups for 1 hour each. Horrible airplane, horrible airport. Never transferring here again.
Pros: food and service
Pros: This leg was continuation of flight that began in Xiamen. Same plane and crew. 787 Dreamliner layout is efficient, generous legroom and recline is better than American carriers. Crew works as team, fast and courteous. Very helpful and professional, Water offered frequently, trash pick up kept cabin neat, bathrooms always clean. Passenger announcements are clear and crisp is English and Chinese.
Cons: Really, no complaints. More entertainment choices would be appreciated however is not my priority.
Pros: Nothing. never boarded. Took the train instead.
Cons: 1 hour connection. I missed my flight because the flight out of LAX got delayed.
Pros: Good efficiency for boarding an good in air entertainment
Cons: Delayed for an hour while already boarded
Pros: From the food (dinner and lunch), to the spacious seats, to the impressive beverage selection, there is little I would change. The small touches, including coming through the cabin regularly with delicious green tea, made this a wonderful flight.
Pros: Crew very helpful. Seat roomy.
Pros: Two choices of meal, friendlier staff, better head cushion. Props to JAL.
Pros: Kind and courteous staff
Cons: A family with 2 kids making noisy and crying nonstop during the flight the father was playing Japanese video games with headphones on and very careless but once in a wile started yelling at Kiks because they distracted him from his entertainment. Grandma next to them was careless too, mother left the kids to father and was sitting 2 rows in the back and they never came at least to try to make them quiet even when the kids started to kik everywhere licluding the food tray and almost breaks it. Unfortunately the staff never came and try to talk to them about this issue Most of the people including several senior citizens looked angry and frustrated.
Cons: We were delayed in three hours and had to wait in this FREEZING airport. Additionally, our suitcases were not sent directly to our final destination. And of course the crew's English is poor. So we were very stressed wether we will make the connection or not.
Pros: Food aND food are good
Cons: The plane is late not on schedule n
Pros: Sichuan is a good basic airline. No frills but they get the job done. Our flight was on time and the staff very professional
Cons: Prior to taking off, (male) flight attendant was rude when demanding me to turn off electronic. Girl to my right rear kept her moving playing on her computer during entire takeoff. Flight air conditioning was not cool, let alone cold, so I was hot the entire flight. When landing, I was directed to return my seat to upright position, while man in front of me did not have to, girl next to him did not have to, and several others throughout the flight did not have to return their seats to upright position. It really seemed like the flight crew played favorites or (more specifically) discriminated.
Cons: Again, crew with poor English. We got boarded and then it turned out we would not be able to fly for at least one more hour. So we set for an extra hour in this small airplane. Why did they board us?? It was better waiting in the airport.
Pros: Even coach had plenty of room
Cons: Appreciate that there was food in flight but the taste left much to be desired. The entertainment selection was extremely sparse and could have been much better with English subtitles.
Pros: Crews are amazing
Pros: Asiana air is so nice, they give all customers slipper to feel comfortable on flight.
Cons: Food is just so so and they should give snack for long flights.
Cons: Meal the beef steak taste like beef jerky
Pros: Good legroom in
Cons: Food and entertainment
Pros: The music of kpop
Cons: Would have been good if there’s more korean drama available on the trip and some kimbap food too
Pros: A comfortable flight, with fine service.
Cons: The connectioning flight was slightly late, but just enough to make it a mad dash through customs and to the furthest possible gate on the opposite end of the terminal. Not within the airlines control, but unnecessarily hectic
Pros: The pre-booking of meals to meet dietary restrictions.
Cons: Another protein to go with the fruit tray option
Pros: Boarding services
Cons: On-line cellphone app interface in mandarin version could be better.
Pros: Nice bathhroom size
Cons: I dont like the 2x seating in business, seats are not up to what they should be, i was glad it was a short flight
Pros: Price
Cons: Everything
Pros: The price is good and they offer some of the best prices around Japan and East Asia. As far as LCC's go they aren't the worst. If you're motivated only by price, then Peach is fine.
Cons: The service of Peach is pretty much non-existent. Their staff seem to be very poorly trained, they are no proficient in English, they do no communicate well and seem to only be interested in getting you crammed into the plane (and out of it) as fast as possible. Their flights are often delayed, you can safely assume you will leave at least 30 minutes past the scheduled departure time. On the plane you will get nothing but a seat so don't expect anything else.
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: The staff is very arrogant and only looks for ways to make money rather than providing information and helping. NO COURTESY AT ALL. They made me miss my flight and managed to blame it on me despite my being there 1:30 ahead. I’ll never recommend them.
Pros: Great crew
Cons: No entertainment.
Pros: Professional and attractive flight attendants. Clean cabin.
Cons: "We'd like to buy the noodles." "Sorry, we're sold out of that." "We'd like to buy some grape soda." "Sorry, we're sold out of that." "I'd like to buy a model airplane." "Sorry, we're sold out of that." This was on the way to Hong Kong, where they may load up on some of the catering items, but not on the duty free. Strange for an LCC to be so low on inventory, which is a huge part of their revenues. My other gripe is that the only source of water in the holding area at Okinawa's LCC terminal was, like the flight afterward turned out to be: sold out. Oh, and they split the two of us up upon checking in (two hours prior to the flight) by seating us on opposite sides of the plane. I can't believe the entire rest of the plane paid for confirmed seats and left only single seats. Like AirAsia, Peach has Navitaire's reservation system, and apparently, like AirAsia, Peach intentionally splits groups up in the hopes that they will pay to sit together. If this is the case, it is wrong. I agree with LCCs' notion that baggage is a service, for example (at least seven people handle a bag on a nonstop flight), or selling food rather than giving it away. But it is really low to intentionally cause discomfort and then charge to relieve it.
Pros: Flying out of Macau is more convenient than HK
Cons: The check in line was very slow today in Seoul
Pros: Foods
Cons: Delay time was too much!
Pros: Quick boarding, pleasant flight attendants, short flight
Cons: Rickety plane, busing us to the terminal after landing
Pros: The price was a steal and able to have the 3 seats for 2 of us. Enjoyed the trip and flight.
Cons: Flight attendant seemed put out if you asked for more than 1 drink.
Pros: Foods
Cons: Delay time was too much
Pros: Good price
Pros: Crews inflight service
Cons: Unorganized of check in counters, on-line check in luggage drop waiting in the same line as others who needs check in, making waiting in line much longer for on line check in one
Cons: They lost my vegetarian food option and in return gave me a few cookies..
Cons: Food is limited considering 17 hr flight
Cons: More choices in movies
Pros: Left the airport on time, arrived on time, good flight, good service onboard.
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Pros: Nothing! Couldn't be worse. The crew don't care about passengers and can't speak English either. We had a very long delay for no reason. The plane landed at a different airport that it was supposed to and then the airline bussed us to the Shanghai airport. Terrible terrible operation...
Cons: Everything! First please hire flight attendants that can speak English. Then provide better food. Even with Chinese standards the food had a bad quality. The stewardess didn't even understand that airplane mode exists for cell phones. She screamed at me to turn it off. Entertainment was a disaster
Pros: Crew worked hard in carrying out several meal and drink offerings. Seat had ample leg-room ( I am 6 ft tall)
Pros: Economy seats are not comfortable on any airline. I wonder why seats in a car are more comfortable than in an airplane? The staff were very zealous and proficient. They were pleasant and helpful. The food was the best of any airline I have flown. I was very impressed with the biscuits!
Cons: I did not like riding the bus to my airplane on the tarmac.
Pros: We had a 3 hour delay on take off. However they did give us a lunch voucher. They also made up some time in the air so we were able to make our connection.
Cons: They were friendly and gave good service
Cons: I could have paid attention to the warning to make sure that my name appears EXACTLY as it does on my passport. I was not able to board because the ticket name and the passport name didn’t match exactly.
Pros: Crew were friendly and helpful
Cons: The bun-with-meat was terrible.
Pros: The food was good and they had plenty of good movies.
Cons: Limited choices for entainment, not as many movies to watch, nor the latest ones
Pros: Boarding was easy and the crew were wonderful.
Cons: Entertainment was weak. Food was horrible.
Pros: Same as my first flight
Cons: Same as my first flight, but the delay this time did not cause me to miss a connection as my travel terminated in Bangkok.
Cons: No leg room. No new movies - like watching reruns
Pros: Friendly and helpful crew. Efficient heck-in.
Cons: Airplane food and overpriced extra baggage.
Pros: I booked thru a search engine more than 3 months before the flight but was not allowed to select my seat. I was seated at the last seat in the middle. The trip was long, more than 12.hrs and being in the aisle would have been comfortable. It is not my 1st time to ride the airline . .
Cons: Not being able to select a.seat prior to the trip.
Pros: Very speedy boarding process. The whole plane was on in about 12 minutes.
Cons: Seats are super close to the seat in front of you. It is a newer plane and didn’t have any charging ports.
Cons: I wasted my money
Pros: On Time KIX Terminal One
Cons: Limited leg rooms Lack of pockets at seat back
Pros: Excellent crew and customer service, very friendly and accommodating!
Pros: The belongins I brought back from Tokyo were much less thsn when I flew to Japan via Cebu Air. In JetStar, I have to pay excess baggage. Why? If you are carrying laptop and carry-on bag it should not exceedt 7 kilos total. In other words, your total carry-on either one or two pieces should not exceed 7 kilos (i.e. handbag and carry-on luggage). Since I was travelling with my wife, I said I would check in one bag on behalf of my wife to save some few bucks instead of assessing me excess baggage. JetStar said NO because when I checked in on line I indicated ZERO bag check in for my wife. This is complete contrast to Cebu Air. In Cebu Air they only weight your carry on luggage not you backpack or handbag. Now here is another JetStar scam. If you buy from duty free inside the airport, JetStar will re-weight your all carry on belongings.
Cons: Scammer - so many hidden fees. Boarding was dis-array - I heard one passenger asked, "Was there any small children/infant priority here?" Actually I did not hear JetStar called for priority seating. Everybody rushed to the gate and started boarding process. No priority seating being called. English announcement inside the plane hardly to understand.
Cons: The flight attendant made a sour face when I repeated a question (because I did not understand her at first).
Pros: Still have not flown out of Vancouver...24 hours later. Flight was delayed because of fog apparently but all other planes were landing and my connection had just landed in it. They did a terrible job updating everyone, no announcements were made so people individually had to go up to the counter. Finally after 2.5 hours of delays they said they just decided to cancel the flight and there would be another one at 7am the next morning. Once everyone got to the check in counter with their luggage they had 2 people dealing with everyone and the line up was all the way down the airport. All they needed to do was gift hotel information which was alittle slip basically saying try one of these 3 hotels. The staff member I dealt with was so confused as to why i had my checked buggage eventhough all 100 people in line had theirs and we were told it would have to be rescheduled and tagged for the morning flight. Seemed crazy how someone who worked for the airline was very confused, I spent 5 minutes explaining it to her then she ran away for 5 to speak to her coworker and came back to say I was correct. They then told everyone who was connecting in Hong Kong to call this 888 number to book their connection. The number tells you to leave a voicemail if you’re basically not calling for accounting or finance! I left a voicemail...of course no call back. You can also reschedule online it says, so I tried and it tells me that my ticket number isn’t correct eventhough it is! It’s the same one on my boarding pass and on my electronic boarding ticket. I decided I’ll just have to wait till I’m at the airport for my 7am flight...wake up to go for the 7am flight and they have delayed it AGAIN until 4pm. We are staying at an airport hotel and you can here planes consistently flying in...not sure the issue. Overall, experience has not been a good one. Staff is confused and communication is poor. I’m feeling doubtful we will ever make it to Hong Kong and Bangkok at this point.
Cons: Only positive thing was that they put us up in a hotel because of the crazy delays.
Cons: The ground staff at the airport were not organized when boarding they just threw everbody in a line as compared to LA where we were in groups
Pros: We had a 3 hour delay on take off. However they did give us a lunch voucher. They also made up some time in the air so we were able to make our connection.
Cons: They were friendly and gave good service
Cons: Boarding in hong kong was chaos. Different staff saying different ways to board confusing a lot of people.
Pros: All was good
Pros: Very speedy boarding process. The whole plane was on in about 12 minutes.
Cons: Seats are super close to the seat in front of you. It is a newer plane and didn’t have any charging ports.
Pros: The flight was easy to check into, boarding was quick and before I knew it we were at our destination. For the price, you can’t beat what you get!
Cons: Having to pay an extra free for exery service (bags, reserved seats, food) was not ideal, but it still was cheaper than a regualr ticket with a big airline. Overall, I would do it again!
Actually I did not hear JetStar called for priority seating. Everybody rushed to the gate and started boarding process. No priority seating being called. English announcement inside the plane hardly to understand.
Pros: Longer leg room
Cons: Online check-in is the worst. The needed information properly inputted does not mean that you are checked in. Despite live chat support, the online check-in is not user friendly. It is the slowest, doesn't make sense program. It is not intuitive. Not a smart application but dumb.
Cons: I am 175cm and could not fit my legs behind the seat. It was extremely uncomfortable.
Cons: My luggage come a day late from Ho chi Minh air port.
Pros: Good price
Pros: Boarding is efficient. Food is good. Flight attendants are very responsive.
Cons: It so happened that the check-in system was down for maintenance. I waited over an hour just to get a boarding pass.
Pros: No problem with staff
Cons: Food is okay
Pros: Everything
Pros: I liked playing tetris and pacman with a controller that was like that of a console. My flight had a lot of empty seats, and I noticed they staggered the seating so that there was nobody in front of me or behind me. Flight crew was genuinely nice and helpful even though we didn't speak the same language. The little cup holder was actually pretty cool. There even seemed to be ample leg room compared to other Chinese international flights I've been on. I've flown previously with china southern and China eastern, so that is my basis for comparison.
Cons: They didn't give me boarding passes for both flights (had a long layover in china). Other airlines printed both at the start of trip. This added quite a bit of confusion for me, seemingly unnecessarily. Also, I'm a bit disappointed in their free hotel room deal for long layovers. When I had a long layover previously with either china southern or china easter (can't remember which one), I got my own free hotel room, a free meal, and a free ride to and from the hotel. That was a real perk for my 12 hour layover. The deal with xiaman is you get a free hotel room, but you have to share it with a stranger of the same gender, and you have to pay for taxi to and from the hotel. Although you do supposedly get a free meal, I chose not to take them up on the hotel offer. Instead I took them up on their transfers lounge. This is a dark, quiet room full of dingy, dirty padded chairs and people sprawled out and snoring. I would have stayed more than 15 minutes if there were more phone charging plugs, but instead I went and ate mcdonalds and found a plug in at the kfc. Aside from all that, I would suggest getting some better Hollywood movies to choose from, as xiamen's competition has them beat there as well, in my opinion.
Pros: Almost nothing, this was a terrible flight and experience! The movies were good, that's about it.
Cons: No online check-in, long waiting at in-person check-in. Rude, inattentive personnel; worst is that every passenger in transit need to go through customs in Xiamen which is terribly complicated. No word about this upon booking or on Xiamen airline's website. Customs in China isn't a nice experience either. Nobody was able to find the right way for check-in, it was a mess. I will never fly again Xiamen Airlines and I recommend to everyone to avoid this airline under any circumstances.
Pros: Nice flight; very comfortable
Cons: Short flight; so no in-flight entertainment (no problem though)
Here's why:
We’re not the seller.
At KAYAK we don’t set the prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.
We compile tonnes of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we can't guarantee prices we find.
Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car rentals can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find, on occasion, that certain prices are no longer available.
