Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Everyone was very friendly."
Cons: "More room."
Cons: "I never made it... I had a trip interruption and got stuck in Chicago and would of had to wait another full 24hrs to take the flight to Denver. tired and nauseated after being all day at the airport that at midnight, i knew that I couldn't hold off till the next evening, took the next flight back."
Pros: "Nothing. The plane was late. The WiFi didn’t work. The plane was hot in 90 degree weather and after travelling almost 19 hours I needed a little comfort."
Cons: "At least make the WiFi better."
Cons: "Full plane with no Main Cabin Extra seats left over = painful flight for someone over 6 feet."
Pros: "Very attentative crew"
Cons: "Charging for WiFi"
Cons: "Having to pay for wifi"
Cons: "Horribly bumpy the whole time, no drink service because it was so shaky"
Pros: "Great crew, good food served several times. Entertainment was very flexible."
Cons: "F/a’s are haphazard and disinterested in their customers. Below average experience."
Pros: "Premium economy is the way to go for a long haul flight. We were comfortable and able to get some sleep."
Cons: "The crew on the way to Sydney was a little more present. There was always someone milling in the galley between the business class and premium economy cabin. The crew returning came through the cabin often and were attentive if you asked for them but you had to seek them out."
Pros: "We were up and down and I’m happy there was a direct flight to St George from Phoenix. But the price was higher than going to Salt Lake ."
Cons: "Plane was very old and we had to walk a loooong way to board."
Pros: "We arrived safely. We were late but arrived safely. When we had to spend the night en route, the customer service desk was very kind and helpful."
Cons: "Crew was grumpy and very unhelpful Lots of mechanical delays Kept being assured we would make our connections despite leaving late. In the end we had to change our route in order to have a chance at making it to our destination that day. Even that didn’t work though; we had to spend the night in Charlotte."
Cons: "it was not BA flight American Airlines. For a 6-hour cross-country flight, there was no entertainment of any kind. More than that, no blanket or a pillow was available which made the trip so much worse. Worst of all, the last 90 minutes of the flight all the toilets ran out of water so they can't even be flushed. First time I have ever come across such a problem. Absolutely terrible."
Pros: "For the long flights business class is the way to go."
Pros: "B787 plane was very nice."
Pros: "The business class cabin is one of the best in the business with a great seat and onboard product. The food was good and the snack bar is great for when you need something mid-flight. American has one of the best selections of inflight entertainment with tons of movies and TV shows available for their long-haul flights."
Cons: "Boarding at Sydney International Airport was a bit of a chore. There is a pre-screening area where they check passports and boarding passes prior to reaching the gate. People are randomly selected for secondary screening. Give yourself extra time to board."
Cons: "Cabin crew seem frustrated and don't like the work"
Pros: "Seats were mildly more comfortable than DELTA seats."
Cons: "Passengers with small children weren't offered to board early like with every other airline I've traveled with... Delta, spirit, united, etc. So I ended up being humiliated because we held up the line trying to get situated with the baby."
Pros: "We hit a very bad bout of turbulence. They were concerned as to our wellbeing and comfort throughout the flight."
Pros: "Audio was good movies can be heard and understood."
Cons: "No toillt paper, dirty not refreshed for a 15 hr flight. Back row neverhadfood choices and served cold coffee.should start at back also."
Pros: "Like the drink & snack bar that is always open. Crew kept bathrooms maintained reasonably well."
Cons: "They were out of some of the drink and food options. The Vegetarian special meals were poor."
Pros: "The guy at the initial ticket counter was wonderful and took his time addressing my needs."
Pros: "QF operated by American Airlines. First time flying AA from LAX to SYD (typically do this trip once a year). Overall a good experience, much better than I was anticipating. They diid not charge for surfboard, which was great. Plane is smaller than Qantas Airbus 380, so boarding and getting off plane was quicker. Would fly again."
Pros: "It wasn't bad for an American based international flight, but also not wonderful. Crew was great. Snacks were good. The extensive entertainment options were great and enjoyed extensively."
Cons: "The vegetarian options were AWFUL. Like, really really bad. Seats seemed smaller than previous flights."
Pros: "We flew with 4 different airlines on our trip to New Zealand and American Airlines was by far the best. We were comfortable and had plenty of good food and free entertainment. I would fly with American Airlines again."
Cons: "I can't think of anything."
Pros: "Decent movies"
Cons: "Seats are incredibly close to one another. I'm pretty short (5'5") and I felt cramped to say the least. The food isn't great, it's okay but don't expect to be wanting seconds."
Pros: "I loved the Qantas plane that took us from LAX to Sudney. It was so quiet and smooth, and each seat in coach had very slight improvements , such as a head rest that moved, and cushions that atually felt comfortable. I think it was a new Dreamliner or something similar. AA should use these."
Pros: "Boarding was seamless."
Cons: "Food choices were horrible as was the food quality. Especially for an international flight. AA should be embarrassed that this is the level by which they operate. Entertainment systems were faulty. Many around me had to be restarted. And crew seemed tired and irritated. Willing to overlook the chairs that barely reclined but with everything else operating at a poor level, it was just the icing on the cake."
Pros: "The flight was cancelled on the runway on October 30, 2016. At times, someone within the ranks of this company needs to understand the experience and financial position of the average passenger. $12.00 voucher for dinner and breakfast in Panama city Panama is an example of being disconnected from the reality of that experience."
Pros: "Overall, it was a decent flight. Tucked way in the back, but no major issues."
Cons: "One flight attendant spent the majority of the flight flirting with the guy behind me. Another had a voice so loud that I could hear him through my earplugs and Bose headphones while trying to sleep on the overnight flight. I also don't like that I booked with Qantas and ended up on an American flight."
Cons: "My itinerary said 12pm departure from Sydney to Los Angeles. However, the departure time was 10:15am, and not on Qantas airlines, but on American. It was luck I found out about the changed time. Also, since the airline changed, it took extra time to find the correct counter to check-in."
Cons: "American Airlines isn't as friendly or accommodating as other airlines or staff."
Pros: "overall best airline I flew, steve"
Pros: "Crew was friendly, food remarkably good for coach."
Cons: "Seats were comfortable bu"
Pros: "Flight crew was fantastic. Pilot did a superb job. Whole flight was like sliding on glass."
Pros: "The crew was really nice, food was good, movie selection was also good."
Cons: "Too crowded. Too many seats made it too hard and inconvenient to get up to stretch out or walk around on such a long flight. Which is recommended to prevent blood clots."
Pros: "Most of the flight attendants were cheerful and helpful."
Cons: "One flight attendant may have been under the weather - not cheerful nor helpful."
Pros: "The seat was a lot better than the first leg. Also the entertainment screen worked."
Cons: "The food was okay but not that good, The male crew steward was very friendly with a couple across from me and gave each of them 8 glasses of wine, even without asking for them, He would just show up with two glasses of wine every 30 mins. All the lady's working were great and friendly."
Pros: "me and my wife, enjoyed the flight. flight crew served very very well."
Cons: "no complaint so far."
Pros: "Food was good"
Cons: "American Airlines gave away my upgraded seat that I paid for. Eventually gave a refund, but was unapologetic."
Cons: "The airlines cancelled my flight. I had an early morning meeting in Sydney so I couldn't fly out on the only other Qantas flight (which was 2 hours earlier than my scheduled). Spent 4 hours on hold with American and Qantas before being rebooked for the following day. Had to pay for another night's lodging and food."
Pros: "Great flight"
Cons: "I have dietary restrictions and called Qantas and ordered a special meal. Little did I know I was supposed to call American Airlines so I never got a meal I could eat. Apparently Qantas doesn't relay the meal requests to American. Awful service!!"
Pros: "The entertainment system and wifi price were great."
Cons: "We prepaid to select our seats and when we went to check in our seats had been changed. No apologies or effort was made to fix the situation. They said it happens all the time. They should never charge for seat selection if they do not honor it! Total rip-off"
Pros: "Excellent flight service; good meals, comfortable, enjoyed the wine and beer as drinks and with meals."
Pros: "The people were amazing. They were the sweetest people and were so eger to learn. I have never been so neverous. We experienced a place where I need to help the ppl of the island and hopefully make the experience better. Fijians are so generous and amazing I will be back"
Pros: "Flight was safe and early then estimates timd landing"
Cons: "Meal is not enough for older people (my mom over 60y) then i think that is not enough to adults too Meal is not good tatste like before when fly with quatas only No appetizer like before too fly with quatas we can eat 6 - 8 times include snack"
Pros: "Seats were comfortable and lots of leg room in the priority seat I purchased in advance"
