Do I need a KAYAK account to use KAYAK on the Google Assistant?
Nope. Though, you’ll be missing out. A KAYAK account gives you access to Private Deals (where you can save even more on hotels and rental cars), Flex Month search and allows KAYAK on the Google Assistant to keep track of your preferences like your home airport.
What is a home airport?
Your home airport is the default origin airport which loads when you run a flight search. Setting a home airport lets us know where you’re traveling from, which can give you more accurate pricing and availability.
Why does KAYAK want to know my location?
Allowing KAYAK to access your location is the easiest way to set up your home airport. You can also set up your home airport manually.
Great, I found the flight/hotel/rental car I want. How do I book it?
KAYAK on the Google Assistant will give you the details you need on the travel option you’re looking for, but for booking information visit KAYAK.com via desktop or mobile.
KAYAK on the Google Assistant gave me an option for a flight/hotel/rental car that I can’t find on the site.
Make sure you search the site using the exact parameters that you gave to KAYAK on the Google Assistant. Even a variation on the travel dates or number of passengers can cause rates to change.
Hey! KAYAK on the Google Assistant gave me a price and it’s different from what’s on your site when I go to book. Why is that flight price no longer available?
KAYAK (and KAYAK on the Google Assistant) searches hundreds of travel sites at once to find you the information your need. However, because we’re a search engine not a seller, you never book directly through KAYAK but always with one of our providers. While we try to make sure we’re displaying the most current price data, our providers’ prices and availability changes frequently. So, (like much of life) what our voice agent tells you is not guaranteed.
Which other KAYAK features are available on the Google Assistant?
Currently, KAYAK Flight, Hotel and Car Search, KAYAK Flight Tracker and KAYAK Explore are the only features available. But stay tuned as we work on capabilities for your other favorite features (like Trips, Price Alerts, Packages and more).
