Onsite car rental companies are conveniently nestled in the baggage claim area. Some are located along Milton E Proby Parkway, and the vehicles are available onsite in the nearby parking lot. Other alternative car rental operators are located along 232 N Circle Drive. They are off-site companies that are more likely to have lower-than-airport prices and offer courtesy shuttle services from the flight hub's arrival terminal.
For a car rental at Colorado Springs Airport (COS) agent to rent out a vehicle, the renter must be 21 years and above and have a valid-government-issued driver's license. However, you can expect to incur underage surcharges if you're aged between 21 and 24 years, with a limited range of car models and types to choose from. Additionally, you'll need to present a sufficiently funded credit/debit card issued under your name by a recognized financial institution.
Fortunately, you can rent a car from the Colorado Airport (COS) company without a credit/debit card, although some terms and limitations come with that. The car rental at Colorado Springs Airport (COS) will require you to give a certain amount as a down payment. Therefore, you must stow sufficient funds for your vehicle rental and the related insurance cover. Most rental agencies limit the type and brand of car you can rent without a credit card to mostly economy cars and standard sedans.
On average a rental car at Colorado Springs airport costs $78 per day.
In the past 72 hours, the cheapest rental cars were found at Alamo ($34/day), Dollar ($37/day) and National ($37/day).
Based on ratings and reviews from real users on KAYAK, the best car rental company at Colorado Springs airport is Budget (7.9, 56 reviews).
Car rental companies that offer shuttle or pick-up services from Colorado Springs airport to off-airport locations include Hertz, Dollar, Budget, Alamo, Avis, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and National.

Pros:
Pickup at COS was easy for FastBreak members. Bypassed the line, picked up the keys in 30 seconds. The Mazda CX-9 was larger than what we had reserved, which came in very handy. The car was clean and in very good condition. Drop off at COS was super easy--a courteous attendant took the info and within a couple minutes we were inside the terminal.Cons:
The car was a bit pricey ($80/day) and LDW coverage (had I gotten it) would have been another $35/day.10.0 Wonderful

Cons:
The agent asked me if I wanted an SUV instead of the sedan I’d originally rented because I had my family with me. He said absolutely nothing about an upcharge, upgrade, or any additional cost. As rental car companies often upgrade for free, I took that to be the situation here. But when we received the bill they’d charged us significantly more for the SUV. We were also three hours late returning the car but they charged us an entire day extra. Never using Budget again.2.0 Poor

Cons:
I reserved a full size car at the airport. My flight was delayed and by time I got to the rental counter no one was around even though they were still supposed to be open. I ended up having to uber from the airport and back in the morning, costing about 2 days worth of the rental car. I finally get the car the next day and it's a Kia Optima, nice car but mid-sized not full size. Then when I return the car at the end of the week, I topped off with gas before returning, I'm charged a $10 fuel surcharge because they say they gave me the car with 18.5 gals of gas and I returned it with 17.6 gals. $10 for 1 gal of gas that I was supposedly less from when I started, when there is no digital gauge in the car to tell me exactly how many gals I have in it when I started. And guess what. The Kia Optima only has a 18.5 gal fuel tank. So it is impossible to return with 18.5 gals because there is no fuel station in the parking lot.One location in Colorado Springs Airport

Cons:
Late evening pickup, rainy night, COS airport. Guy at pick-up counter said that it wasn't possible to inspect car for damage at the moment, so I should just take photos and let him know if there were any problems. Darkness and rain made good inspection impossible. Next morning, noticed a significant issue with wheel. By this point I was half a state away and it was hard to prove that the damage existed when car was picked up. All very shady. Spend nearly three hours trying to reach Alamo COS by phone, and it cannot be done. Calling national Alamo help numbers or even the airport itself yielded no results. They cannot be reached, period. National help lines for Alamo were unable to resolve situation, all told me I had to call specific COS location, but no one was able to give me that number. A disaster.10.0 Wonderful

I am aware that Gunnison Airport has few travelers this time of year and was not surprised when there wasn't an agent at the desk when I returned my vehicle, however I was unknowingly charged a $100 cleaning fee and would like an explanation of why at the time I returned the car.4.4 Mediocre

Pros:
They rented a car with an already flat tire.Cons:
They could have looked at the car before renting it. Then after I mentioned the problem, they could have fixed it. Instead someone came and filled it with air, that then leaked out again. Had to catch a ride back to the airport and abandon the car in a gas station parking lot.3.6 Poor

Cons:
COST and GAS RIPOFF!!! I rented a minivan for a family visit. Picked up the van and almost immediately the tire air pressure light came on. I put air in all the tires and the light went out. The next morning, this light came on again. I put air in the tires again and drove back to Avis to exchange the car. On the way the light came on again so I knew there was a serious problem. I filled the tires for the 3rd time and drove straight to the Avis place. Upon arrival they offered to change the tires or swap to a new vehicle. I elected to swap. They then proceeded to charge me $9.99 per gallon for half tank of gas. When I complained that the vehicle had a problem since I picked it up and I brought it straight back, they said they weren't sure where the tire problem occurred and I should've filled it first before returning. I said I was concerned about the tire going flat and being stranded, they shrugged. As result, my $220 3-day rental cost me $406!!! Never again.8.4 Very good

Pros:
The courtesy counter experience was very quick, friendly and efficient. I was given the Chevrolet Cruze, which was a comfortable drive, but $88 per day was way too expensive.Cons:
The price. it should have been no more than $50/day, tax included! $88 is ridiculous! Three days was essentially a weekly rate. One location in Colorado Springs Airport
