Pros. The guy was nice about me not liking the room and tried to help
Cons. Someone in the hotel was smoking and they automatically assumed it was me then without informing me charged me when I could prove it wasn't me
Cons. As a family we stayed at Fairfield Inn and Suites/Durham before and we had a great experience then: its location, indoor pool, staff and all worked great for us. Because of our previous experience we booked our second visit at the same hotel but this time it was not as pleasant as it was before. When we arrived around @2 pm we were told that there were multiple early check ins before our arrival and they only had one room available, which was on the first floor, near the elevator and overlooking the construction section of the patio/pool area and since we did not want to wait (unspecified period of time) for more room options we agreed to take that particular room, which overall was upsetting because we were trying to check in at a more appropriate time rather than early. The day after right after the breakfast we had to leave and did not come back until it was almost 6pm to find out that our room was not cleaned, serviced or anything. The lady at the front desk was very nice and she told me that she can provide me some extra towels but unfortunately the cleaning staff was already gone for the day and our room could not be serviced until the day after. In addition to all that, the day after my 4 year old daughter wanted to go in the pool, which is one of the reasons that we picked this hotel but there were no pool towels available at the pool. Once again when I went to the front desk they told me that the pool towels are on their way and they told us to go ahead and enjoy the pool and someone will be bringing the towels shortly. Well… after almost an hour we still did not get our pool towels and my daughter was shivering… when I ran to the front desk, that time they told me that the towels were still in the dryer. Finally I gave up and went upstairs and got our regular bath towels. Very disappointing. Very different experience from the first time.
Pros. Convenient location, nice building. Kids loved the breakfast. Very helpful staff. Would stay there again.
Cons. Room AC seemed to need an update, but eventually cooled down.
