Overcharged from rate booked on kayak at return of vehicle

I returned my car and afterwards received an incident report via email showing bumper and license plate damage. The damage was so slight I didn’t notice it. Luckily I always take a video of rental cars before I drive off the lot. In the video it proves the damage was already present on the car upon pickup. It’s been a week and they haven’t responded. My husband and I rent cars about 6-7 times a year and usually we have no problems. This is the last time I rent from hertz.

I showed up at the airport on Saturday and the staff went home. The hours at Provo are really bad. I had to go to the next door budget car company to rent a car. I specifically asked for a 7 seater car. We had 7 people and no car. Thank goodness budget was able to accommodate us. My experience with budget rent a car is awesome. Their hours are excellent and they have staff there consistently. Would not recommend hertz rent a car in Provo. They might not be there when you arrive.

We received the confirmation of the car reservation so we went to Hertz to pick up the car. However, when we arrived at Hertz there was no agent physically present at the desk but there was a phone number to call the agent. When we got a hold of them, we were told that there were no cars available.

I went to pick up my car and they told me they didn’t have any one way vehicles. She called another location and they said they had one. She suggested I call them and reserve it. I called and was on hold for 45 plus minutes. While waiting on the phone we started looking on line and found something on Enterprise site. We called and did confirm it was available and reserved it. Once we got to Enterprise they were courteous, prompt and we on our way in 10 minutes.

Eric the local manager, and Caitlynn the representative were both accommodating, professional and kind. My situation was a bit of an emergency and I was given excellent customer service.

Difficult to cancel reservation even though Kayak made the error. Kayak booked a pick up location that is closed the date I needed to pick up the car so they moved the date ahead one day without telling me.
