I liked the car and the location was very convenient.

Cons:

Very slow pick up and drop off process. Not enough employees or they were just too busy. Lines of people inside and out the door waiting for help. No clear process to pick up or who is next. It was just very unorganized.

I like the quick in and out process and the cleanliness of the car.

Cons:

My initial rental was not ready on time and I was not given a discount or compensated then my rental was delayed until the next day and I was charged the same amount and the car was had to be downgraded to a five passenger suv instead of a seven. It was devastating because it was my birthday weekend and it messed up my plans.

They gave us a car and was hurried to leave, without checking to make everything right. We had some issues after we got to another city. They told us we can use our coupon when we drop off, but when we dropped off another people said we can't. They said they will figure out for us, but it's been a week our account is still locked and the one promised he will figure out the next day is out. They don't seem to be helping at all

Reserved a luxury SUV (Audi Q5 or equivalent was stated). When I arrived I was given the choice of only two SUV’s, both Ford Expedition Max. The vehicle is the biggest SUV Ford makes…6000lbs, 7 passenger and 20’ long. Not a luxury SUV and a gas guzzler averaging 13 mpg. You need a step ladder to climb into the vehicle. Was not a pleasant experience trying to drive and park that thing around Charleston SC.

I didn't like national due the over charge was out rageous, getting charged 80 cents kilometers when it'd suppose to be 33 cents kilometers. They were charging 3000 kilometers when it's 23650 n charging 2000 in kilometers charges when he said I was out of province, they gave me a Alberta license plate car n now they want to charge me, the attitude from the man was very rude,problems with car and said couldnt do anything, I need to be treated like criminal, when it's criminal the way they try and scam you. I will never rent from another rental car company again especially your company, I don't give you any stars and a poor review. Worst company.. the way he ordered me to pay and the way he talked to me in public, he said I don't need to talk to him like that when he kept refusing to give the mangers number and argued with me n when people were staring he said I don't need to be treated this and talked in his language and got angry gave me the number after 20 min, I walked 2 hours home passed off with the treatment and then the guy took the car out and literally stepped on the pedal went more then speed limit on the airport road, he was mad with ne cause I refuse to pay 3000 dollars for double the amount to what was told.. never rent a car in fort st john they will rob you blind...

Acceptable. We didnt inspect the vehicle together and sign it off before leaving from pick up which was a bit of a worry. Car interior a little worn/tired but clean. No sixt branded car hire stickers/signage? I selected wrong airport for pick up. Additional charge was a bit high in my opinion but understandable

After 30 minutes of waiting in line they refused to rent me a car because I could not prove that I live in Canada - the country where I received my drivers license. I have no Idea why I have to prove that, Ideally valid documents should be enough, but the result is disappointing: I did not get a car, the company did not receive my money.

My van that was reserved and pre paid in advance was given away due to my flight being delayed. Imagine the person in front of you in line is discussing how a van just became available as you stand there asking if the van being given away was yours. And yes it's in fact your van. Then no vans were left to rent and you have to rent a hotel and hope a van becomes available the next day. Fingers crossed as you are in a foreign country not knowing what to do next. I was also awake at that point over 26 hours. Tired exhausted and jet lagged. So my experience was 10 out of 10 the worst case scenario.

The agent I worked with at the counter when picking up the vehicle was excellent, and I am sorry, but I don't have her name handy. Hopefully, you all can see that from the paperwork and will give her kudos, as she did a fantastic job and was super friendly and helpful. She is a valuable asset to your company. I watched her work with the customers before me, and they left with the same sense of gratitude that I had when I finished working with her. Especially after the day I had been traveling.

I was supposed to get a compact SUV, they gave me a Nissan Rogue that is considered a Compact SUV. They charged $50 for it and have been refusing to reverse this charge due to the confusion about its applicability. The gas level at pickup was almost full, 15/16th perhaps. They recorded it as Full. When I returned the car back, it was FULL. I have asked them to refund the additional gas charge and I'm awaiting their confirmation.

Kayak sold me car insurance for my trip. I told the rep that I bought it, he said he could see the policy attached to the reservation. When I got the bill, $40 was added to the trip fees. When I called Advantage, they said, "we don't accept third party insurance". I will never purchase thru kayak or advantage again.

Quoted $169.00. Showed up and they tried to rip me off for gas, tolls and especially insurance. After going through many hoops to show that I have adequate insurance coverage, I was asked to produce a declaration page. After spending 10 minutes on the phone with my insurance company, the agent just said “Do you have a car loan? Then you’re fine. You have adequate coverage” - It was a very poor experience. There should never be a quoted price and final price that are nearly double. I’ll never rent from them or recommend them.

Travel options to/from the offsite location is HORRIBLE. The shuttle buses run every 20 minutes and is a very small shuttle when it does arrive. Once at the rental location, the lines to speak with a rep is just as bad as the wait for the shuttle buses. This is a big inconvenience and would drive me back to paying the higher rental cost for convenience and speed. On a good note, my customer service rep was amazing! And the vehicle I receive is always nice and clean.

They refused to honor my reservation and claimed they had no cars but could make a special opportunity for me at $175 a day. As it was late at night I had to take their high price offer for one day but got them down $106 a day. We switched to Economy Rent-A-Car the next day at $84 for 4 days. Steer clear of Advantage. They are scammers and liars

Despite having a reservation to rent a car for a single day in Puebla, when we showed up we were told there was no car available. Then the man at the front desk said there was a car available but it would be more expensive due to local tax. We were okay with this, but he then said we needed to put down a deposit of $5000 usd, which seemed crazy for just one day. He then changed the deposit amount to $88 usd. The entire interaction felt like he was just making up numbers. It felt very sketchy so we decided to forget renting a car entirely and just traveled via bus…..

Shuttle from SD airport to main car park garage. Then NU picks up but not until after 8am. We arrived 7:30 and waited in cold on outside bench. Upon off site arrival one clerk to handle 3-4 customer groups. He was courteous but none of our cars were prepped for drive off. We waited 40+ minutes to get out, which was a lesser model than advertised. (Nissan Sentra vs Altima)

I didn’t like a thing. They were in an inconvenient location. They took an hour to check me in and then the car wasn’t ready so waited another half hour just to be told the car hatch was broken. Then they proceeded to give me a filthy car with the most foul smell inside. Inside was disgusting with stains and ripped carpet. So very disappointed and would NEVER use them or recommend them to anyone!!!

They tried to steal $91 from me. I was told that in order to pay for the toll tag, I need to use the same card. They tried to run the credit card and it came back declined. So I spent the whole trip taking longer routes to avoid tolls. No problem. When I turn the rental in, they charged me $91 dollars for a toll tag, after they already knew it was declined. I never took a toll road, so why are they charging me for it. Been on the phone with them 2 times since I’ve been back and nothing has been rectified.

When we picked up the vehicle, they didn't have the same level of vehicle available that I reserved. Instead of offering a better vehicle at the same rate, they would only downgrade the vehicle without a rate reduction. This downgraded vehicle wasn't going to work for the number people, bags, and adventures into the mountains we planned for. (Which is why we reserved the Rav4.) I was left with the only choice of moving to an upgraded Jeep Grand Cherokee for more money. Once we got into the Jeep GC, we immediately found a pouch filled with pills under the passenger seat. We have no idea what these pills were, but took them into the office. They offered to put us into a different Jeep GC, which we accepted. At this point, they did offer a refund for the upgrade charge, but only after being asked. I was also told that there was an additional $200 deposit that would be returned upon return. The vehicle was returned with half of a tank of gas and no issues, and I did NOT receive the full $200 deposit back, only $167, with no explanation as to why. I paid for the tolls package and only went through two of them. There is no way that was $33. I will not be renting from Ace again. This was not an experience that I care to repeat. As we were dealing with our own issues on the rental, others were also having issues with their rentals. Didn't seem to be a great situation across the board.

I would rent from Fox again but I’d be way more likely to rent from Fox if there was a way to use their car for toll roads on only the days when you’re planning to use it on those roads instead of paying for toll usage for the entire duration of the trip. Having to pay for the entire duration even though I only wanted to use tolls for one day meant that the cost was much higher and the value not really that great.

I loved the car loved the easy pick up and return of the rental car. The airport made it very self explanatory to get the car back with white letters on the road to direct you back to the rental car return. Made me smile. I had to extend my rental due to not finishing the work I came down for and the company made it very easy to extend.

In the end it was good but to get to the car hire desk and be told no car because I'm late when I let the telephone head office know what time I was going to pick up the car .The person on the telephone did not pass on my information so my car was gone but the staff at the northampton branch found me a car and saved the day.

They charged me for insurance when I explicitly told them I didn’t want it. I have my own insurance. They told me the extra cost was a deposit and the form was not in English so I trusted them. I found out later that my $120 rental now cost $314. I want my money back!

Really the worse customer service they have. Very rude. Shuttle never showed up. There’s no information at all about its timings in which the shuttle is being operated. Went to the office and they said the reservation is cancelled and go reserve a new one. I was on the front desk but they asked to go online and book it. Reserved it then just adding to my frustration with silly questions they didn’t provide the car. I was asked to cancel the reservation. Tried canceling but online portal denied it. Nothing about this experience was satisfying, like renting a donkey and a cart on the streets of Bagdad! No shuttle from airport available, office in a sideroom of a hotel NEXT to the hotel advertised as location. Did not have reserved car, none clean, car smelled like a cigarette BAR, windshield broken, just a mess all around!

Their shuttle never came even though we waited over an hour and a half. We kept calling and after 20-30 min waits in their phone system they assured us the shuttle was on its way. Finally it was approaching closing time so we had to take a Lyft to the company so they wouldn't close on us. They shrugged and said the shuttle guy had gone home half an hour ago. Then it took an hour to get the cars because they were short staffed. Would NOT recommend and will never use again.

It was very difficult to find the shuttle bus and I was wandering around the airport for over an hour, asking other car rental staff and information desks for assistance. The easirent company desk did not answer my phone calls and I began to suspect I was being scammed. I evebtually found the shuttle bus, but when I arrived on site I was a bit nervous that I was going to get scammed. There were a lot of hidden fees that people at the desk only told me about once I was at their location and away from the competition at the airport. For example, if you do not have a return flight confirmation number, there was a $500 uncharge on your rental. I was also given a random car that was available, and not a car that I originally selected when I booked the rental. The people at the desk also refused to give me a receipt for the $200 security deposit hold that was put on my credit card. When I turned in my car 4 days later, they did not issue a receipt, despite my concerns about the deposit hold clearing from my credit line. Given that I was on a time crunch to get to my flight, I believe they knew they had more power to deny me. The rental price was cheaper than the competition, but I believe that the consumer pays for that cost difference in time and risk. Buyers should be wary and ask the company for as much information as possible in advance before booking!
