I would like to see larger cars with more room for luggage. That’s the only concern. But, one of your professional employees made a pertinent point with respect to the small roads in Europe in general and also about the potential taxes on the vehicles that are imposed by various governments in the EU. All in all, I had no issues with the car.

Do NOT use this rental company/location. I wish I had taken the other bad reviews seriously but I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt and given Budget is a global company, I figured it would be fine. I booked a compact SUV for a week starting 5/30 with a pickup time of 11pm. Our flight was diverted to Nicaragua due to bad weather so we were late in landing. I was at the desk by 1:15am. While in Nicaragua, I called Budget via phone and was told that the location had been made aware of the diversion and delay and that I have 24 hours to pick up my car. I was assured that there was no issue at all in my delay. Additionally, I spoke with a chat representative online who was able to confirm with the the local team that my car would be 100% held until 2am. When I arrived at the desk, the representative told me that they had already given my car away as they waited any hour for me to arrive. I tried to explain the above and the gentlemen was completely unhelpful, only offering me a pickup truck after much back and forth. However, he was going to charge me an additional $700 for the truck. There was another passenger behind me who was also on my flight who's car had been given away as well. I eventually walked down to a different counter and was able to secure a last minute car with a lovely gentlemen. I truly encourage everyone to stay away from this place. They left me stranded at the airport at 1:30am with no options and couldn't even have bothered to apologize.

Despite having a reservation to rent a car for a single day in Puebla, when we showed up we were told there was no car available. Then the man at the front desk said there was a car available but it would be more expensive due to local tax. We were okay with this, but he then said we needed to put down a deposit of $5000 usd, which seemed crazy for just one day. He then changed the deposit amount to $88 usd. The entire interaction felt like he was just making up numbers. It felt very sketchy so we decided to forget renting a car entirely and just traveled via bus…..

Friendly service at the ick-up location; VERY pleased that when I called the 1-800 number to modify my reservation, I actually talked to a real person in under 5 minutes. Overall, Alamo has provided the best rental service that I have experienced in a long time. Will definitely use them again.

Cons:

The Kansas City location required additional photo IDs (fraud prevention). This didn't affect me, but others may need to be aware of the requirement (which was not advertised in advance).

Cons:

Alamo was closed when we arrived in Kansas City. The rental car company to the right next counter over had to handle the paperwork. I had already booked and paid online for an easy pick up. They made us jump through hoops while my 90 year old parents had to wait for us.

Everything!! The car was clean, customer service was very clear and nice to work with during the process.

Cons:

Me having a mobile app to track my reservation better. I had to search through emails and track down information. This is a problem for me not with the service. Alamo was amazing and I will definitely rent from them again. Thank you

I got a car that was dirty (inside and out) and that WAS NOT FULL OF GAS, but was down almost a quarter tank. When I pointed this out, I just got a shrug. Bet if I returned it down a quarter tank the reaction would be different

Our flight arrived at midnight. I noted this when looking for a car. We were dropped off by the airport transport to the car rental facility in Kansas City. There was NOBODY there in the whole facility. Nobody at Dollar. Nobody at any counter. We sat in what resembled an empty shopping mall for 2 hours with my 83 year old mom in a wheelchair and 4 kids at midnight just trying to find a way out of there. No Uber had space for 7 of us. Customer service at Dollar wouldn't answer the phone. Customer service at Hertz quoted us $357 for 1 day to rent one of their vehicles just to get out of there, just to come back the next morning and get our actual rental, pre-paid for at Dollar. Nowhere in our pre-travel emails did it say that when we arrive there wouldn't be anyone to give us our van. Why would you rent a van to someone who stated they were coming in at midnight when you knew you wouldn't be there to provide? Two security guards and an exit gate attendant at Alamo working graveyard helped us as much as they could to get us out of there. We finally were able to snag a van with Alamo for $140 for the night just to get to a place to stay for the night. We had to drive an hour back the next day, on Easter mind you, to get our Dollar rental. Drop off was fine and the vehicle was fine and the manager on duty was able to help with some compensation which was appreciated. Travelers be warned however, vehicle rental past 6pm at KC airport with Dollar or Hertz will leave you stranded and alone.

Friendly staff and quick once we got to the counter. This is likely because I listen to the questions the previous customers are asked and I am prepared to respond so I can get to my car quicker. Upon return, we gave the counter staff an unopened half case of water because we obviously couldn’t take it on our flight and the staff couldn’t have more appreciative and thankful. Very polite.

Paid for an SUV, ended up with a Malibu. Back wheels out of alignment, very uncomfortable ride. Reverse camera faulty. Seats both had dirt on them…really gross. Clearly had not been cleaned. Chip on windshield - right in frojt of where driver is looking. Mentioned this on the way out. Currently got 3 different charges pending on my credit card from Avis - why? Still don’t have a final bill/email confirmation from them. Zero contact since drop-off 24 hours ago.

When I reserve an all-wheel-drive specifically because we’re gonna need it in the Colorado mountains, I expect them to have it available. We could’ve driven our own car if we did not need all-wheel-drive. We had to go to another Avis location to find a suitable car which put our trip departure significantly behind schedule.

The engine in my rental car needs service. The engine light came in and the engine stalled twice!! I couldn't get Sevastopol things done on my trip because I was afraid to drive the car and have it break down somewhere. I should get a discount for this!!

They did not have our car ready at the time it was reserved, and did not have an idea of when it would be ready. Therefore, we had to make alternate travel arrangements the same day, over the holidays, which was a huge issue.

Customer service was poor. I was charged for pick-up and drop-off at 2 different locations even after she confirmed with me I was dropping off at the same location. I will now have to dispute it. She didn't explain that even after my initial payment of $201, that my card would be charged another $261 for some reason and when I called customer service the next day, the guy explained that it was a deposit that wouldn't be charged after I return the car. However, the extra charge remains for inter-city drop-off. And, the person at the desk pointed out and told us to select a car from the "right" but if there weren't any to go to the "left" and when we got outside, there weren't any cars in the Compact area at all! So we just got in one! I still don't know if we chose correctly or if I am to be charged again! Not a choice I want to make with no help after a long day of traveling. No explanation given for extra charges.

Travelers are in a hurry, when we do a Phone SEARCH, MCI rental cars, we actually want to PICKUP at MIC airport. Travelers don't know what street address or zip code is at the downtown location. Then there's no way to call you, you were closed. I better NOT had been charged anything.

The pickup process was very quick. Staff was friendly and helpful. Price was considerably less to pick up at the downtown location vs the airport- $200 less!

Cons:

The downtown location didn't have a way to return the rental to them late Saturday or Sunday. I had to pay extra to take it to the airport, less than 1-2 day rental, but still a drag.

Nothing! Terrible customer service!!

Cons:

They booked me a time after they close for the day so I couldn’t pick up my car. I called the next morning when they opened but they had given my car away the day before. They wouldn’t honor my booking. They charged me double. They would’t “pick us up” (their slogan). Very frustrating!!!

Pros:

Very efficient process for pickup and return. Car model (Ford Focus) was somewhat noisy on the highway, but good overall.

Cons:

Some trash was left in the car from the previous renter. Nothing terrible however. Candy wrapper and some used paper.

Acceptable. We didnt inspect the vehicle together and sign it off before leaving from pick up which was a bit of a worry. Car interior a little worn/tired but clean. No sixt branded car hire stickers/signage? I selected wrong airport for pick up. Additional charge was a bit high in my opinion but understandable

After 30 minutes of waiting in line they refused to rent me a car because I could not prove that I live in Canada - the country where I received my drivers license. I have no Idea why I have to prove that, Ideally valid documents should be enough, but the result is disappointing: I did not get a car, the company did not receive my money.

My van that was reserved and pre paid in advance was given away due to my flight being delayed. Imagine the person in front of you in line is discussing how a van just became available as you stand there asking if the van being given away was yours. And yes it's in fact your van. Then no vans were left to rent and you have to rent a hotel and hope a van becomes available the next day. Fingers crossed as you are in a foreign country not knowing what to do next. I was also awake at that point over 26 hours. Tired exhausted and jet lagged. So my experience was 10 out of 10 the worst case scenario.

The agent I worked with at the counter when picking up the vehicle was excellent, and I am sorry, but I don't have her name handy. Hopefully, you all can see that from the paperwork and will give her kudos, as she did a fantastic job and was super friendly and helpful. She is a valuable asset to your company. I watched her work with the customers before me, and they left with the same sense of gratitude that I had when I finished working with her. Especially after the day I had been traveling.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
