Despite having no cars available/clean/ready to rent, Budget continued to take reservations for new car rentals. The guy at the counter said it would be "at least 30 minutes" til a car was ready but could offer no more details. I asked how many people were ahead of me and he said 15! There were many people there who had waited much longer than 30 minutes. I finally got a call about a car 2+ hours later. By then I had already given up and taken a taxi to my hotel, and a taxi to dinner. The rental ended up costing me $50 more than it should have due to the costs of the taxis and a lot of unnecessary hassles. I will not rent from Budget again.

At the airport in Buffalo the computers crashed, huge line and slow service. They finally moved everyone downstairs and started processing. Slow and chaotic. Huge delay!

The rental car agents did not show up, I came there to their office 15 min before and waited for 45 min and they did'nt come. I called no answer, Finaly I had to call Budget agency call centre to cancell my reservation. Not professional.

They could have cleaned the car before we picked it up. The inside and outside was dirty. I found Gatorade bottles in the back the van wasn't vacuumed. When we went to drop it off they made us vacuum it out because he said there was pet hair on the carpet (isn't that your job) he was very rude and was Persistent, that we had a pet in the van.

Booked “standard suv” category and received a banged up old minivan instead. Car was disgusting outside and especially inside! Took forever to receive the car and then even longer to get out of the gate due to their system freezing up. Not impressed at all!

Didn’t have cars in the class I reserved and prepaid, so was forced to take a lower class vehicle. Also, no fully charged vehicle was available, so I had to accept one with 3/4 battery charge. The car was filthy. They made numerous attempts to upsell me other options/services, and when I refused they tried to suggest it was not optional. I continued to refuse to pay extra above my prepaid amount, and they eventually relented. However, as a result, it took 45 minutes from the time I got to the counter to the time I drove off.

I would rent from Fox again but I’d be way more likely to rent from Fox if there was a way to use their car for toll roads on only the days when you’re planning to use it on those roads instead of paying for toll usage for the entire duration of the trip. Having to pay for the entire duration even though I only wanted to use tolls for one day meant that the cost was much higher and the value not really that great.

Lots of hidden fees. When I booked online it said unlimited mileage and I also purchased CDW (Collision Damage Waiver Insurance) online. When I got to the rental store to pick up my vehicle, I was asked to purchase additional insurance even though I had it covered through my credit card and had a CDW. They also said at the counter that I am not eligible for unlimited mileage as I am a resident of Ontario. I had to pay additional money to cover for the extra mileage driven. They also did not commit to provide me with a ford explorer or similar. I was given a basic 5 seater low end SUV which was very uncomfortable. Negative ratings for economy rent a car. Would never go back.

Pickup and drop off went well. The car itself needed maintenance, the brakes were worn out, wobbled the vehicle when braking hard, which was critical down the many many hills. The car also shivered over 100kmh. Had about 50k miles on it, but given the roads in Costa Rica those were hard miles.

Horrible customer service experience. I waited in line for 40 m. They didn’t have the suv. They claimed its system problem. Obviously not as most complained and they booked form different websites. Very unprofessional close to rude attitude and just saying take a standard car( that’s what we have or wait for an hour). Came next day and it was only a jeep compass available.. I said it’s too small and in the pic it’s an explorer or similar. He said that the standard suv and it’s not their web site that put the explorer. The branch manager was extremely rude. Never again with economy. Drop off was quick

Mostly good after I went and Signed paperwork the lady at counter said I receive pic of the damage On the car when I picked it up by email never received them even after 4 calls. The next Morning i saw a lot of scratches all over the car and took my own pic just in case they said I did it. Save yourself the hassle and just spend the extra money for a known name rental company. Van took forever to come pick up from the airport because they are located off sight. The car was damaged on the front and not just a little ding but noticeable sized dents and scratches. Staff was nice but still not sure if I have been credited my $250 deposit that is due on top of what you pay for the rental.

I got to the easirent location listed- which said it was at Harry Reid Airport- it was 10 Miles from there ina. Dusty field and a temporary mobile home. The workers were so worn down, and just used to screwing customers, and one nice lady was so tired and on the verge of a heat stroke. The original price was 160 on Kayak, and the whole process was so frustrating. Allegedly the “out of state fee” was $25 per day, which increased my total to $260. I was frustrated at this point and tired, and I said ok. As we were about to finish the gentleman told me I also needed to give a credit card for a $500 dollar deposit- again, figured it would be refunded when I returned it. I went to the car, and was unpleasantly surprised to find the car very dirty, with marker still written on the windshield like it came from an auction lot. The inside smelled terrible. I left and am driving down the freeway, and find the front lights don’t work. I turned around and went back and asked for my money back- which was obviously met with resistance. I spent an hour trying to get my money back, and ultimately the lady helped but told me it would be a surprise if I get the money back since it’s through Kayak. I did get the deposit refunded. I went to Budgets website while waiting and rented a nicer car, for 30 less dollars. Go to the big name places, guys. This place is a rip off!!!

I never got the car, because they had a rule that was not disclosed prior to making the reservation; that if I was not departing the day I was returning the vehicle they required a $500 deposit. This was very disappointing. So I had to cancel; which resulted in me loosing my money that I paid up front. So, i will not recommend them ever. I ended up renting with ACE, which was a few dollars cheaper and a much better experience overall.

They charged me extra for unlimited miles, for local driver upon pick up. I didn’t want to rent anymore but my order was non refundable. So I had no choice but to pay up or lose more money. My rental agreement with kayaks said it was unlimited miles. Very disappointed in both companies for there no transparency, the pick up location was not very inviting, had to wait a half hr. To get help with no AC in the building. Never going here again

The wait to get our car was 2+ hours long. Car smelled like cigarettes. Paid $70 USD for a full tank of gas and only got it about 3/4 full (I have a picture). The insurance coverage part was confusing as there was not really any info re- coverage while I was booking the car online, so it was a bit of a shock to have to pay over $400 USD the day of just for car insurance. I would have looked at other car rentals if I had known. Would not recommend and will not be using NU Car Rentals for further trips.

Not the friendliest pickup experience. Also, we were surprised to learn that we had to buy insurance, or leave a $2K deposit. Finally, we could not rent without a passport. I was not aware of this requirement and did not bring it with me, which caused considerable problems.

I have no idea why Kayak would support this company and have them as an option. Do they not listen to their customers ? Look at the reviews. They scam you into $50 extra dollars a day with fake car insurance. Not only did I buy the extra insurance and also have my credit card that covers rental car insurance they add on fake “collision” insurance that’s extra on top of the 2 other insurances I already have.

Price was low for a reason. Service was terrible. After long check in process I wait for my car only to see it has no gas. And it's scratched and dented all over. And then after I check out I realize they added some fees that were not clearly told to me... I called and they said it was a prepaid fuel tax of 20% which was never told to me. Complete nonsense.

They did not let us rent a car even though we had confirmation through kayak. They only rent to travelers who are flying into IAH. We are waiting for the refund. We were very disappointed and ended up having to go to another rental agency and delayed our trip.

I would have liked more accurate price quoting. Price was listed as $240 for a "special class car." I was offered the lowest level compact they had. On top of that, I was informed the actual price for rental would be THREE TIMES as much as I had already paid. When I inquire about canceling my reservation, the clerk said that would be okay, but they would not refund the $240 I had already paid. Poor customer service, feeling scammed by hidden fees and forced into paying them to avoid losing my money. Will never rent here again, would not recommend this company to anyone.

Little far from the airport. When going through a 3rd party instructions should be provided. I had to google the company and figure it out after I already head to the rent a car center and had to head back. They wouldn’t send a pickup until I texted them my id and insurance. Then when I was told about the tolls I opted out when I returned the car he charged me for the daily pass even tho the other person said I didn’t have to. The car it’s self was great the business was not professional

I arrived, and they had the wrong car. They had an SUV-type 7-seater, but I booked a people carrier van. They didn't have any available, so I had to wait 90 minutes with 3 children for the car to be ready. They claimed the issue with the booking was with Kayak/Expedia, and they made me pay the difference in upgrading the car. I showed them the booking confirmation and the picture of the van/people carrier with 9 seats, but they still made me pay. I was so tired and knew I needed the van that I had to pay to get out of the place. The manager was helpful, and the people were lovely. But I find all car rental places to be borderline crooks. This just confirmed it again for me. There are ridiculous add-ons for mileage, car seats for kids (a legal requirement), insurance, and excess. The list goes on.

Pros:

Easy to pick up and return were fairly straightforward although the wait time to pick up was too long given there were very few other customers.

Cons:

They gave us a choice of two cars. One smelled terrible on the inside and the other desperately needed cleaning on the interior. There was a bunch of popcorn in the back seat and hand prints on the rear seat windows. We were not impressed. I mean you could see the debris before even opening the doors. Gross. And this is supposed to be a time of extra cleaning given the pandemic. May not use Alamo again.

The car was good and staff was friendly but we were charged more than expected and never received an answer when we questioned this. The amount quoted at the pick-up desk was slightly higher (about $10) than the quote. We planned to return the car with a fulll tank of gas but due to unexpected traffic we weren’t able to stop and were charged $48 (returned it with half of tank, charged for a full tank) and were charged an additional $36 for a recovery fee which we have no idea what this was for or why it was charged.

Lauderdale Avis sucks mistakenly rented from location 1/2 mile from airport Shuttle took us to rental center wrong location Avis agent wanted double the original price I asked how to get to correct location he said Uber or taxi and yes cars there were available Got a taxi went right there haha they were closed Avis rep didn’t tell us about they we’re closed it was 6pm Again , sorry I used kayak / Avis Signed UNHAPPY CUSTOMER

My experience with Avis Rental Cars at Fort Lauderdale Airport was disappointing. Despite making a reservation, I waited nearly an hour in line for check-in, which seemed excessive given the low number of customers. The staff aggressively pushed extra insurance coverage and were unpleasant when I declined. To make matters worse, the car I was initially given was parked in an aisle where returned vehicles were lined up, making it impossible to pull out. Despite requesting assistance from the staff and searching for the manager, it took an additional 30 minutes to locate and change my reservation to another car. Throughout all of this, the staff showed little concern and were unapologetic. It's frustrating that even with a reservation, it took nearly 1 hour and 30 minutes to leave the airport with my rental. This experience falls far short of expectations, and I won't be choosing Avis for future rentals.

The worst experience imaginable. Rented a Tesla and even though I arrived early - was told my Tesla rental was given up and I would be “upgraded” to another vehicle. This vehicle was a Corolla. In no world would this be considered an upgrade and I was extremely disappointed in the rudeness of the staff

The one car I chose that was in the lot I was supposed to select from had a spare tire on, thankfully one of the attendants pointed that out so I had to take the only car left which was a 2 door Chevy Camaro- which wouldn’t have been my first choice. Also, the price of $79 was then I flared up to over $250 at the end of it all. Disappointing.

Easy check in and check out process. They will ask you if you want to upgrade your vehicle, SunPass for tolls, extra insurance, ect. We ended up upgrading to a bigger vehicle for $45 more for the week. And declined additional add ons. It was a good check in and check out process and will likely rent from them again. It is an additional $12/day for an additional driver.

Horrible customer service experience. There were no instructions in how to get there, they are not located in the airport and you have to find the shuttle which is not easy with no directions. It took us so long that when we got there they said our booking was essentially cancelled and we’d have to make a new booking for 30% more. Awful experience, highway robbery.

1200 dollars charged for a chip in the windshield, is a racket, I doubt they will be repairing the chip or replacing the windshield like they said they had to. Also the 3rd party rental insurance I got from kayaks when I got the car didn't cover it they said. If you do not arrive within 1-2 hours of your reservation time, they give your car away and don't have backups for you! EVERYONE in that arrived on my shuttle were in the same boat; they didn't have any of our vehicles; they were simply telling everyone that their reservation is cancelled, we'll receive our money back (eventually), and we just need to go elsewhere to find a car last minute, at night. IT WAS A DISASTER! Thank God one of the guys working there took pity on my group since I had my 80 year old parents with me, and managed to find another vehicle for us. It was smaller than what we rented, but at least it was a vehicle. I'm thankful to the employee who bent over backwards to find us a vehicle, but York's policy of re-renting everyone's cars if they are not there within 1-2 hours is CRAZY! Everyone else got screwed. It was an awful experience. Oh, it it took HOURS for all of that to get settled. 0/5 stars.

The car was clean and reliable, and the shuttle driver, who took me to back to the airport, was great. Otherwise, I would never recommend this rental company. My reservation was nonrefundable, which was fine, except for the fact that the agent, who checked me in, told me that I had to purchase their liability insurance because they didn’t “accept insurance from my insurance company” but that he would accept it for comp/collision coverage. Instead of losing the $190 I had already paid, I went ahead and purchased the liability insurance, for an additional $150. I then called my insurance agent, who assured me that my liability insurance would cover any rental car, in the US. I have attempted to have the $150 refunded to me, but have had a very difficult time reaching anyone who seems to be able to address the issue. Overall, I was very disappointed in the sneaky and unscrupulous practices this company employs.

They tried to triple the price when picking up the car. Though advertised as free unlimited miles they were going to charge for mileage. They insisted we use their insurance, which would add more to the original price. From $76 for two days to $120 per day. When ask to cancel they said ok, but never cancelled the reservation. Luckily I was still able to cancel via kayak app.

Rented a 12 passenger van for a college trip with students to study marine biology in southern Florida for 3 weeks. Reservation and rental agreement indicated $889 as total price, $500 (approx) downpayment was made at reservation. Upon arrival, they charged me $1,500 and said there is some required insurance although my University pays for full insurance on all fleet rentals. I do not see this in the details on expedia. The van was in poor condition - dent in the back with cracked bumper from a prior accident. One seat was literally zip-tied on. Two seats did not have seat belts so effectively serves as a 10 passenger vehicle. The zip-tied seat and missing seat belts would be against the law so I have reported this to Florida's Attorney General office for investigation.

The pick up process wad complicated. You have to speak to someone on a screen, and then they require that you go around the vehicle and take a lot of pictures to stay within the contract requirements. This made the pickup process complicated and stressful. Once familiar with the process, the drop off was easier and I would think it’s easy going forward, but it was complicated the first time.

I suppose it’s the future. So you aren’t actually seeing someone in person. The instructor comes on the screen and everything is done virtually. Not bad or good, just very different for those who’ve never experience it.

It wasnt the car that we had originally rented. It was nice but was not big enough for our party. We were told we would loose our money already paid at 12 at night and that this was the only option. They couldnt speak very good english and a $200 insurance was still placed on my card after I told them not to.

it is very deceiving, first of all you already signed agreement where your money is not refundable, while they do not provide enough information for the customer to make inform decision; when you reach to the car rental location to pick up the car that is day and night history, in conclusion it is very deceitful. never again, I will go directly to the car rental location.

Fraud company please check their complaints online before referring them we never received the rental as they were forcing us to buy insurance and florida easy pass we told them we have insurance and our credit card also protects us and this is not first time we renting they were very rude and told us to leave so we had to catch cab in middle of night and messed up our vacation monetarily and fun wise

This place is doing false advertising on your site. They publish a super low rate to lock you in but when you show up there are a bunch of mandatory fees that more than double the price. You should not keep this company on your site.

Two phone calls were required to get airport pickup. The would not accept my auto insurance card, they wanted the declaration page. Next time I'll just go to enterprise

Staff did not understand the english language, desk was not at the airline terminal as advertised, could not get anyone to pick us up at the terminal, had to make a phone call to get someone to pick us up at the terminal, coverage I paid for was not of any value so I had to buy additional coverage, did not get a car I asked for, took so long to finally get my car I was 3 hours late arriving at my destination.

Did not got the car I reserved they said because I booked online and they charged me extra money for after hours ?? And the car I got is a cheap one not even worth five dollars a day

Samir provided an excellent customer service and made my experience pleasant and smooth. He deserves all praise and commendations. I think it’s time for Addcar to invest in a kiosk inside the terminal and provide this amazing experience to the other passenger that only pick up from rentals within the terminal.

It was an absolutely terrible experience. The person I dealt with when picking up was so rude and unprofessional. I was shocked at the additional expenses and how I felt forced into an insurance that seemed like a scam. There were multiple additional expenses that were not explained to me and the woman seemed to think I was foolish for asking for an explanation. I was so nervous about returning the vehicle that I cut my vacation short by an extra day just to get the vehicle back early in case they were difficult again to deal with. So I had to pay $150 for a hotel just to get the vehicle returned early. When I did go to the dropoff, there was another person having the exact same difficult time with staff. It was so wildly upsetting to watch this man struggling with this horrid customer service as well. I will never use this service again and I will attempt to warn others about this experience.

Staff were kind though they didn’t seem to have an information needed to answer questions related to insurance and cost. No shuttle service was available from the airport and no one was Available to answer the phone, other travelers helped us figure out how to get to the pick up location 3km from the airport. The $2000 hold/charge to our bank account was a huge surprise and it took over 2 hours to get the car at pick up due to them being understaffed and having a lot of confused costumers.
