No chairs in the rental office. You have to stand up while waiting for the only employee to get to you (and it could be a long wait). No modern credit card machine so I had to be in contact with my credit card provider in order to authorize the deal. No way to buy CDW online (I got an email saying the order was confirmed, but was unable to find it using the thrifty website). I rented a car from the exact same location 2 years ago and had the exact same issues. It seems that nothing had changed since. The car itself was excellent, but the headache around the order was a letdown.

Reserved a car and went to go pick it up and upon arrival we found out they had closed before actual closing hours. Talked with another person that was there at the same time and they mentioned thrifty had given out all their cars. I shouldn't have been able to reserve a car ahead of time if they're just going to give out all available vehicles.

Never got the car, after arriving nobody was in the office and after calling multiple times they didn’t have any reservation made to my name despite having the reservation and itinerary numbers. They shielded behind the excuse of making a deposit to reserve and I was never ask that until that moment, plus no cell service to call customer support to resolve the issue with KAYAK. Someone made a mistake along those lines and I never do it again.

Staff was nice. They just didn’t have any cars when we got there. Said it would be 3 hours or I could upgrade. We had planned on have a full size. I had to upgrade to an suv that cost $100 more then plan on.

Reserved for convertible- was told none was available. This is I spite of reserving it several months in advance. No attempt to try to find another vehicle in surrounding areas. Asked to call central reservation number for budget - they were no help at all. Did not even offer to reduce rates as promised vehicle was not available. Very poor service.

Got the keys right away, was able to drop the car off after hours.

Cons:

After getting the keys, was told to remove the sunpass from windshield since I had my own and didn’t want the additional charges. I couldn’t remove it- no one was around to help. I saw a man that worked there and asked for help, then yelled for help but he ignored me and kept walking. Also, if you leave your vehicle there you have to park it across the street.... so walking across 6 lanes of fast moving traffic is a little unsettling.

It would have helped to know that the Enterprise agency where we had rented from on-line was closed at noon on Saturday, especially as we didn't arrive until 1:00 p.m.. We were never able to pick up our rental car.

Pros:

Staff was friendly but unhelpful when I needed to return the rental after an hour when we realized the mattress we were trying to donate would not fit safely into the truck bed. They would not refund the purchase although fuel unchanged and plenty of inventory on lot indicating we were not tying up any vehicles. Very disappointing.

Speed at checkout. They should have cleaned the car... esp during Covid. They should have placed me into a different car if they didn’t have time to clean the car they put me into. I also could not get ahold of customer service for the life of me. Awful experience.

Drop off at SFB was easy. We had to change our drop-off location mid-trip and this was easy to do over the phone using the “rental extension” phone number on our initial receipt.

Cons:

Was traveling with an IL driver’s license that had its expiration date extended 6 months by the state of IL due to Covid-19. No issues with TSA in 3 different airports. No issues anywhere except Hertz in St. Petersburg where the store manager would not allow me to pick up the car. In the state of FL, Hertz does not have good options for dealing with toll roads. You can either pay an exorbitant amount of money up-front (for our rental period something like $70, way more than the amount we would pay in tolls), or you can get charged afterwards for the tolls you use + a $10 administrative fee for each. There are several toll roads where you can only “pay by plate” or transponder and there is no option for paying with cash, so if you don’t know the area and your navigation takes you on one of these roads, Hertz has you over a barrel.

The Hertz rental at that location no longer exists. I took an Uber to and from the location from my home, $18. I waited outside on hold for over 20 minutes while an agent tried to find another location with a car. No such luck. My Christmas plans were ruined.

The car was a beautiful brand new 2020 model. The interior was sparkling clean and the exterior only had a few chipped paint spots. The car drove smoothly and fit my wife and I’s need.

Cons:

The staff at the pickup location was rude. Was not friendly and could’ve made the process of checking in for the car for enjoyable and less stressful.

Pros:

Worst experience with a rental company I have ever had. Was not able to retrieve my rental car because even though I had a reservation they decided to give my car away. Missed my best friends wedding because surrounding car rental companies were too expensive to buy the day of. Could have figured out a different option had I known my reservation would not be honored.

Worst customer service.

Cons:

When I showed up my reservation car was not there and the only car available was a minivan, I had reserved a compact car for ease in the city to park etc, I was not happy, but at the last minute someone drove in with a vw beetle turbo so I was saved !

Despite having a reservation to rent a car for a single day in Puebla, when we showed up we were told there was no car available. Then the man at the front desk said there was a car available but it would be more expensive due to local tax. We were okay with this, but he then said we needed to put down a deposit of $5000 usd, which seemed crazy for just one day. He then changed the deposit amount to $88 usd. The entire interaction felt like he was just making up numbers. It felt very sketchy so we decided to forget renting a car entirely and just traveled via bus…..

The pick up method in Florence is horrible, I also asked the drop off to be in Rome and I didn’t notice they put Genoa so I had to pay an extra $100 in fee for when I dropped it off to the location I had originally asked for.

They did not have the SUV I reserved, and insisted I take a pick up truck or a mid-sized sedan! THey took no responsiblity for this error... Also, the deposit for self CDW insurance (over US20K in deposit) was just too unreasonable. Staff not friendly.

We are LA locals and tried to rent a car for the day from the Ace by LAX. We were attracted by the competitive rates, but once we arrived to the rental place it was a nightmare. First, no real person wanted to acknowledge us or help when we asked for assistance. Instead we could only speak to an associate who was video chatting on an iPad in the store. Second, absolutely none of the cars that were listed online were accurate. We reserved a large van which was listed on the site and specifically chose Ace over other companies because they listed it as available and offered the best price. But the closest vehicle they had available was a mid size SUV. Not at all what we wanted or needed. Lastly, the customer service was really sub par. Everyone acted like we were an inconvenience and wasting their time as we were trying to make the transaction. Also, another annoy aspect was that they required a lot to rent from them, including utility bills and $1000 deposit. It seemed excessive and they wouldn’t accept a bill listed in my husband’s name even though it’s our household bill. Just too many hoops to jump through for very poor service and not finding the vehicle you need wanted in the first place. Their ads are pure clickbait. 👎🏻👎🏻

I would rent from Fox again but I’d be way more likely to rent from Fox if there was a way to use their car for toll roads on only the days when you’re planning to use it on those roads instead of paying for toll usage for the entire duration of the trip. Having to pay for the entire duration even though I only wanted to use tolls for one day meant that the cost was much higher and the value not really that great.

The email from Easirent with information about my car rental listed Charlotte as the airport instead of Las Vegas which caused me unnecessary confusion and concern. When I tried calling the phone number listed, I was connected to an international agency with an automated message saying they were closed. The email from Easirent also did not explain that we would be taking two separate shuttles to get to the rental center causing further confusion. It was not communicated that Easirent was offsite.

I booked a car in advance and arrived on time. There was only two customers in line also waiting for cars, but the staff said they were “trying to find enough cars”, and then the desk staff had to personally clean the only car that was available. When it was my turn at the desk, they told me my only option was to accept a car with a cracked windshield. I ended up having to leave (after waiting an hour) to rent a car from a different company.

I would have liked more accurate price quoting. Price was listed as $240 for a "special class car." I was offered the lowest level compact they had. On top of that, I was informed the actual price for rental would be THREE TIMES as much as I had already paid. When I inquire about canceling my reservation, the clerk said that would be okay, but they would not refund the $240 I had already paid. Poor customer service, feeling scammed by hidden fees and forced into paying them to avoid losing my money. Will never rent here again, would not recommend this company to anyone.

Little far from the airport. When going through a 3rd party instructions should be provided. I had to google the company and figure it out after I already head to the rent a car center and had to head back. They wouldn’t send a pickup until I texted them my id and insurance. Then when I was told about the tolls I opted out when I returned the car he charged me for the daily pass even tho the other person said I didn’t have to. The car it’s self was great the business was not professional

Pickup and drop off take a lot of time. It will take an hour from reaching the pickup spot until you have a car. There’s a $1500.00 deposit, which they keep for a week after you return the vehicle. They want to see your insurance for YOUR vehicle (???) as well as the insurance documentation you plan to use, such as credit card. My confirmation clearly stated it was unlimited mileage but it was not. There are fees for driving out of province. Fees for extra driver (that’s not all that’s unusual) This takes way too much time, is misrepresented and there are hidden fees. Also… attitude. I would not recommend this place.

The vehicle was very good value. It was not however very clean, and the gas tank was not fully topped up. It was under filled by about 12 litres of gas according my top up upon return of the vehicle. In the site it was mentioned that it is an unlimited mileage but when I went in person, they told me it is limited to 120 kms. On top of it they were asking for $1400 deposit!!!! Very very poor service. I had to decline the offer and asked for refund, and I did not get refund too. I didnt even ride the vehicle. Total loss for me because of this scam.

I arrived, and they had the wrong car. They had an SUV-type 7-seater, but I booked a people carrier van. They didn't have any available, so I had to wait 90 minutes with 3 children for the car to be ready. They claimed the issue with the booking was with Kayak/Expedia, and they made me pay the difference in upgrading the car. I showed them the booking confirmation and the picture of the van/people carrier with 9 seats, but they still made me pay. I was so tired and knew I needed the van that I had to pay to get out of the place. The manager was helpful, and the people were lovely. But I find all car rental places to be borderline crooks. This just confirmed it again for me. There are ridiculous add-ons for mileage, car seats for kids (a legal requirement), insurance, and excess. The list goes on.

When I went to pickup my car, I had to wait ~1 hour to speak with someone at the desk. The agent I spoke to at the desk lied to me and said that I cannot use my personal auto insurance and had to use their plan. I call their corporate number later and the confirmed that agent was incorrect and refunded my money spent on the insurance. The car they had reserved for me was stuck behind several cars on the lot and inaccessible. Because of this they tried to give me another vehicle in the same class. The replacement they picked had visible damage/dent to the multiple panels, doors, and bumper. I started documenting all the damage in detail and taking pictures, the agent started getting visibly annoyed. He ended up providing me with a different car in the end. When I came time to drop off the vehicle, the lot nearly full and there was a line extending into the street just to enter the lot. I'm still waiting to deposit to be returned and I anticipating that I will need to call their corporate office again. This was an extremely poor experience through and through. I will never rent from Mexrentacar ever again, and I will never recommend their services to anyone.

they are scammers: thet have charged me 22,40 euro because the car was not clear in their opinion. The car of course was not clean as when i got the car but was not very dirty at all. They also did not released any invoice for it. Also i have waited 2 hours before getting the car at the checkin desk.

1200 dollars charged for a chip in the windshield, is a racket, I doubt they will be repairing the chip or replacing the windshield like they said they had to. Also the 3rd party rental insurance I got from kayaks when I got the car didn't cover it they said. After this trip I won't be using kayak, Surprice or Expedia again and will definitely tell my friends about the bad experience.

It took awhile for the shuttle bus to get to the airport for pickup. My insurance provides coverage for rental cars. Unknown to me, they require a copy of my insurance policy to 'verify' that I have that coverage, or else I have to buy their insurance coverage. My flight was delayed and I got to their facility about 8pm. She said I was supposed to have picked up my car by noon and would 'have to see if they still have a car available and if they could verify that my original rental fees were still available". They decided to let me have the car. It is dark outside and they have the black vehicle out in a dark area where I am supposed to inspect it for any damage. I brought the card back in to her where I marked that I didn't see any obvious damage, but trying to see any surface scratches or scrubs was impossible. She said, 'you didn't write the mileage down''. I said the rental agency normally does that. I went back out and got the mileage. At this point I was frustrated and really needed to get on the road as I had a 1.5 hour drive to get where I had to go and be up for a very early meeting. I have never gotten a rental that didn't have a full tank of gas, EVER. About 10 minutes down the road it started to rain and I was trying to figure out the wipers. I then noticed it only had a 1/2 tank of gas!! When I got back I mentioned this to the lady behind the counter. She said it was my problem because I was supposed to inspect the car before taking it. Lesson learned when dealing with Surprice!!

If you do not arrive within 1-2 hours of your reservation time, they give your car away and don't have backups for you! EVERYONE in that arrived on my shuttle were in the same boat; they didn't have any of our vehicles; they were simply telling everyone that their reservation is cancelled, we'll receive our money back (eventually), and we just need to go elsewhere to find a car last minute, at night. IT WAS A DISASTER! Thank God one of the guys working there took pity on my group since I had my 80 year old parents with me, and managed to find another vehicle for us. It was smaller than what we rented, but at least it was a vehicle. I'm thankful to the employee who bent over backwards to find us a vehicle, but York's policy of re-renting everyone's cars if they are not there within 1-2 hours is CRAZY! Everyone else got screwed. It was an awful experience. Oh, it it took HOURS for all of that to get settled. 0/5 stars.

When you get there after a long flight and a a long drive from Mimai Airport to get there....they tell you we do not accept American Express cards. Mr and two other customers went through the same thing...there was a lot of upset people in the same boat...yelling, arguing. I will never use them again! Rented a 12 passenger van for a college trip with students to study marine biology in southern Florida for 3 weeks. Reservation and rental agreement indicated $889 as total price, $500 (approx) downpayment was made at reservation. Upon arrival, they charged me $1,500 and said there is some required insurance although my University pays for full insurance on all fleet rentals. I do not see this in the details on expedia. The van was in poor condition - dent in the back with cracked bumper from a prior accident. One seat was literally zip-tied on. Two seats did not have seat belts so effectively serves as a 10 passenger vehicle. The zip-tied seat and missing seat belts would be against the law so I have reported this to Florida's Attorney General office for investigation.

Absolutely terrible company. If I could give it zero stars, I would. I have asked for a refund and had to go with a different rental upon landing in Florida. They tried to take a $3000 deposit even though we already had external insurance. They advertise that they're in the airport which they are not, and they didn't even offer a shuttle - they told us to Uber. Upon looking at reviews, many people said that they kept and wouldn't return the deposits claiming unreal damages. They also tried to do additional toll charges and other random shady things, that they communicated through text. Also, when they asked for the $3000 deposit, and we tried to escalate it since it was completely unheard of, they didn't say anything and changed the contract back to $500 without telling us (to delete the evidence). Terrible, terrible, terrible company. Pay more and go with a reputable service.
