That I was able to open the window for fresh air.
Mildewy smell, dirt in corners, no remote for the TV, bed made up poorly, if I was unable to open the window it would not have been good for my asthma.Front desk staff out front smoking at one point, front desk unmanned at another point, back door left open and fully accessible (I was slightly concerned at night due to this, but we double locked our door).
I knew it would be pretty much basic, but this place was very clean and comfortable compared to other basic motels I have stayed. I would certainly stay there again.
The parking lot was full when we arrived late on Friday. There is a sort of overflow lot, but not a lot of room for large vehicles or trailers. It is at the south end of Brainerd, so farther away from Brainerd International Raceway where I was spending the weekend. The staff was very accommodating when we let them know we would be checking in late. The rooms were quite clean without the usual cloying odor of disinfectant. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was as expected with waffles and cereal choices in addition to donuts and bagels.

Also good to know about the hotel:
Close to parks we were visiting.
The room smelled bad, the bedding seemed old and dirty aand the bathroom loght only turned on after you hit it a few times. The hot tub wasn't hot nor did it have any jets so it felt like a luke warm bath. There were also no towels by the pool.It stilled felt overpriced for the experience at XXX...would not go back.
The staff was very friendly and helpful
The sheets on my bed were torn and tissue thin. All the plants in the outdoor planters as you entered the hotel were dead. It gave the hotel a abandoned look. The smell of the hallway leading to our room was not good. When we went to use the attached bar/restaurant we found it was closed. We cut our stay short and left one day early.
Secluded thirty-five acre B&B three miles from Brainerd. Private bath themed rooms with names such as "three marigolds and one other flower", "starry starry night", and "miss 4th of july" allude to the unique decor in each room. In addition to Inn rooms, you may stay to rear of old fashioned general store with 1930-40's cars and trucks parked beside antique...
