This is a fancy building with a spa and nice staff, but it is not what I expected.
I did not realize that it was a bed in a shared room. I requested a room on kayak and got a hostel.
Noise from outside. Housekeeping not changing linen timely when asked

Cool upper Manhattan neighborhood, near CUNY and down the street from the Alexander Hamilton house, fairly easily accessible by the C train. Friendly staff.
Poorly marked entrance, took me a while to get someone to come to the door.

Location, Location, Location.
For the price and location I can't say anything I didn't like. The staff here was very kind very accommodating. Sure it needs amenities, the walls are fairly thin and it's a hostel not a hotel its definitely not luxurious but it is very nice and well maintained and it has what you need. You have to understand for the price you're paying to stay in this hotel and the location where you will be it is MORE than adequate - I mean you are staying in the center of Manhattan. Subway is literally on the corner, there is a theater next door and many more all around (It is Broadway obviously)Great eats all around and close. The room itself was very clean and they have a mini-fridge and many safes below the beds which was cool. The good breakfast was icing on the cake. Thumbs up and definitely will be staying here again soon.
Location and price were absolutely fantastic
Even though its a lot less then the next place, its still a lot for a room (just NYC prices...)....the water took a while to get hotThis is a hostel, not a hotel. No TV, no phone, no room service. Just a clean room with beds and a private bathroom. Perfect location, 1 block from times square. If you want to see NYC for a lot less then the next place, come here. If you want to sit in a hotel room instead of visiting the sights, well then you really should go elsewhere. Oh yeah, bring soap and stuff....

Stayed on the 38th floor and had an amazing view of the 9/11 memorial, the Freedom Tower, Hudson River and Jersey. Staff was friendly and helpful. Downstairs bar is lacking and doesn't serve food but there is a bar/restaurant on the 5th floor that is much better. Plenty of good bars/restaurants also within close walking distance.
We wern't really sure what to expect on on first trip to NYC but as soon as we arrived, the concierge had us on our way. He was so nice & so willing to help and had us with a plan to see the whole city w/in our 2 1/2 days there. The views from our hotel room were astonishing from the memorials to the Freedom Tower to the Brooklyn view; even from the 28th floor (there are 55 floors). When we go back, we won't even consider another hotel. Thank you Millenuim Hilton for a great place to stay for our Anniversary!

Clean beds and updated bathrooms for an great price. Hotel 91 is less than 5 minutes from a subway station (and be sure to get coffee at the "12 corners" coffee shop on the way.) All in all, Hotel 91 was exactly what we needed: an inexpensive but comfortable place to recharge as we explored NYC.
The neighborhood is not very central, so it is ideal if you are looking to have a place to sleep and leave your bags as you are visiting the city. Don't plan to come back to your room and change before dinner, though.
Wifi was spotty at best. Several times I needed to go to the reception desk and ask them to reset it. Sometimes they told me to just use it in the lobby. One evening, the desk clerk told me to wait until morning. When I said that two other desk clerks had reset the wifi on previous days he rudely expressed skepticism and demanded their names. When I obviously did not have their names he demanded precise descriptions of them. Even for New York, the Kayak-discounted price of this hotel was far too high for the value received. I have stayed in New York many times and will never stay at Hotel 91 again.

Great location - it is away from the craziness/noise of Times Square, which is the only other area of Manhattan that I have stayed in.
NoI am not familiar with NYC hotels and picked the Library Hotel because it was highly rated on TripAdvisor. I was extremely pleased with the hotel and would stay there on future visits. Great location, free from the noise of Times Square. Clean and comfortable rooms - with plenty of counter/desk and mirror space for my wife to apply makeup and get ready in the mornings (the lack of space is something that bugs her the most about staying at hotels). 2nd floor lounge is comfortable and provides excellent continental breakfast food in the mornings, snacks during the day and wine/cheese in the late afternoon/early evening. Rooftop lounge is a great place for a nightcap. Staff was attentive to all of our needs. We had dinner at the Madison & Vine Restaurant and enjoyed it very much.
I have been wanting to stay at the Library Hotel ever since they opened and just got the chance due to a very reasonable discounted rate ($300 for a queen room) over the Christmas holiday. They did not disappoint! \nPROS: 1. Fabulous staff - not just one or two but every single one. They were courteous, helpful and completely approachable in a friendly but not pushy way. Owners - you have one terrific staff - be nice to them! 2. The absolutely ingenious idea of a hotel based on the Dewey decimal system. It was very cool! 3. The free (yes free) continental breakfast, snacks, wine and cheese that are available to all guests in the beautiful 2nd floor lounge. I I had not a penny of additional charges on my bill when I checked out. I can't remember the last time that happened. So when you think the rate is too expensive don't forget to account for the free stuff. 4. Rooms were beautiful although small, remember this is NY. My daughter and I had a queen room and it was just big enough. 5. L...

The rooms were spacious for NYC and very comfortable. There was some room service but also a restaurant next door. We only had breakfast there but it was great and there were other options nearby. The rooms come with a small kitchen so you can save your money for other things.
The air conditioner was next to the bed and it was a little difficult to get the right temperature.
