The veranda setting for the included breakfast was beautiful. What are the cons of staying at Hotel Club Akumal Caribe?
Shops within a block radius. Bar stools and chairs at restaurant LOL HA are awful. The free breakfast is a coupon for 140 pesos off. Had problems with toilet! And no tv! Tv and microwave. We had a loud couple in the adjoining room, and could hear every word they said, so the walls/adjoining door are not sound proof at all. The busy beachfront and restricted access to swim freely in the sea were a major disappointment. Massive amounts of seaweed. Beach full of weeds and the hotel doesn’t clean it. Needs upgrades, no tv and we were supposed to be 2nd floor or above. No snorkels available. Should have two indoor comfortable chairs, not one. A/c was loud my room was in high traffic area. Only two bath towels were provided. Its a very busy beach with lots of day tourists, the beach itself is quite full. No spotty mirror. Bungalows could do with refreshing. The rooms are basic and in desperate need of a face lift. The fridge in the room is so old it made such a noise we had to turn them off at night. ?. Hi. Old and overpriced bungalows.
What are the highlights of the hotel's location and amenities?
The location is beautiful, relaxed and clean. The Akumal Diving Center is right by the hotel for great snorkeling trip to see the turtles. Also nice restaurant of the hotel. The location is great, also so close to their restaurants for breakfast and lunch. The staff were also really helpful whenever we needed advice or taxis. The location is excellent, the rooms are very nice, the air conditioning works very well, the staff seems to be well trained and are very polite and go out of their ways to satisfy guests. Location! Location! Location! This is the best location for shopping and activities. Close to beach. Bungalows are spacious and comfortable, with a great continental breakfast included, with beach chairs under palapas provided. Fabulous Location and extremely helpful staff. The location is beautiful. We could walk everywhere we wanted to go. Loved the beach chairs and sun or shade options. Water is very clear. You could see fish just standing in the water. Close to the beach, good pool area. Beach well taken care of, Manuel in reception and some staff super lovely. Comfortable beds. Beautiful sunrises on the beach. there’s an incredible Italian restaurant next door (however expensive, 2 drinks each and one risotto £100), a good seafood restaurant close by. Perfect for snorkelling with turtles. We saw at least a dozen and stingrays and other beautiful fishes. Nice beach bar/restaurant. Quiet, clean, friendly, great location. Loved the bungalows. Huts by the Turtle beach. Location on the bay, sun beds & palapas included in the price, pool.
