Efficient pick up and drop off process

Upon dropping off my car rental, I was told there was another $195 charge. I asked the front desk & said I signed for the daily protection of $25. I know I didn’t and refused it at the day of pickup. When I confronted the service desk, they just told me I signed it but wouldn’t give me proof and told me to contact customer service myself. Luckily I checked upon return of car when they guy had me signed the iPad for drop-off. Called the customer service hotline and they said they would send to dispute but no resolution as of yet. So check your drop-off receipt to see if if they tacked on unnecessary fees. You could be getting ripped off

The car was just fine as far as a midsize model to drive which they only had one more to rent out the Weight at the DCA airport was almost 1 hour. The line at their rental shop even though I had a reservation was 45 minutes. I was told I would get an email of my receipt which I need to get reimbursed for work and to this moment I still don’t have an email. I was just lucky. I remembered the location to return it because I had no information given to me and I don’t know I checked the email with them and it should be correct but I do not have one at pick up or drop off.

The service at PBI was terrible. It was very inefficient and I had to wait a very long time. The staff was very nice but they were shorthanded as the line grew.

The car had issues with its electronics. Check engine light came on and stayed on. Parking sensor alarm always going off and couldn’t be cleared. License plate was loose and rattling.

Terrible experience all around. System wide outage caused massive delays. Employees don’t have a clue what they were doing. After 45 minutes of being patient, with my wife and 2 daughters (3 & 6) waiting way past their bedtimes, I asked one of the 3 Avis employees trying to figure out how to process my rental why was going on. The employee I asked acted incensed that I asked him that. I pointed out that I’ve been there for 45 minutes and several other people had gotten cars in front of me and behind me and he again acted like I was in the wrong for questioning him. Tempers flared after that, and I took my ID and card back and left Avis. I was still charged by Avis, and am working on a refund. I ended having to rent a car from Sixt for a much higher price. They however had me in a car in 10 minutes. I’ll never rent from Avis again.

It’s terrible experience with counter service, louder and very unfriendly service at pick up counter.

They don’t tell you when you book the car that if you want to return it early (same day rental) that there are not enough stalls to park the car and that you need to pay extra to valet the car or hang on to it until the morning.

Customer service was not good. Rushed people thru without explaining paperwork told to initial everywhere and not explain why. Was charged for extra ins and other th things I would have never agreed to normally the agent would ask if you want these extras and say no. Called after getting my receipt and that customer service was also rude. Will not use avid again
