Zero customer service through dollar and kayak both. Basically got screwed out of my rental. So I paid for nothing. Crazy this was my third rental in two weeks through kayak and have many more to rent but will never use your services again

Until the rental car industry drastically shortens the time from the time one walks up to the rental counter until pickup of the vehicle, I for one will not be happy with the pickup procedure. The return was quick and excellent. I was not aware of understood the breakdown of the final bill.

Awesome customer service and very affordable. Only thing was that vehicle was not clean or sanitized. It was a little uncomfortable driving home. Once I was home I sprayed it with lysol. Other than that it was an awesome experience. Thanks

Drop off was drop and go

Cons:

Upfront with “managers choice” special the car just ended up being the smallest compact car they had. Also we asked for a ride to the airport and it was a hard no.

Staff was very nice. Drop off was fine and it was easier to get to in the early morning hours.

Cons:

The tank was not totally full when I got it. My fault for not noticing or calling in. I still haven’t gotten a receipt via email.

Cons:

Apparently I booked with Hertz in Brownsville instead of at the Brownsville airport. The two behaved like separate entities. Not enough space here to go into detail, but they could've handled this much better.

Free upgrade, and the customer service rep waited till our plane landed before shutting down the rental counter. Clean, new, and comfortable. Loved the unlimited miles, that saved us so much money while traveling to three different states to visit family.

Jose went above and beyond! Was understanding that we we're going to be late arriving, and forwarded messages to the late shift attendant, who in turn helped us get out of the rental quickly an ⓓ on our way.

Pros:

The person working the counter on the morning of 04/24/2021, was dishonest and cagey. The entire process was a waste of time he stated that the car would was being washed and would be ready in 30 minutes, after more than hour he was stating the same lies and would just walk away and go outside.

Cons:

If the vehicle is not available just tell me it is not even though I had a reservation. Just wasting time waiting for a car that is not going to be available. Do not lie and expect that a customer would be satisfied. I had to use a different company that had a car available at a lower price and was able to rent without any problems

Cons:

It would have been better if they didn’t gave me false hope by letting me book the rental. If they don’t have the car to be rented, they shouldn’t let me book or reserve the car. In allowing me to reserve, they have stopped me from looking for a better alternative

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
