Budget at CVG airport run out of stock and had no cars to honor my reservation. Giving the need for my family and the time of the day, I decided to accept a Tesla Y. I assumed the car came with an EV charger cable that could be used at home (I was staying at my In-laws). Next day, I checked and the car did not have any charging cable. I had to run to Tesla charging stations often because the car’s battery lost charge quickly and also took a lot of time charging. When I called customer service, the person indicated I had to go to the location I picked the car to get the charging cable. I was working remotely so my wife drove the car she borrowed from her parents all the way to the airport only to learn that Budget does not include the charging cables. She was told that a discount of two or three days could be coordinated with the manager upon return. The manager only provided a meaningless discount. In addition, the car had a problem with the trunk, which did not close automatically. The car was also dirty when I picked it up from the CVG airport. Our experience with Budget was terrible.

I rented a car for my husband who was flying in late on Christmas Eve. I reserved a compact SUV because we needed it a car with a little more space for the holidays. When he arrived, the gentleman at the front desk gave him a compact sedan. When he let them know that was incorrect, Cesar was rude, telling him that it didn’t matter what my confirmation email said in terms of car type, but his system showed a class that was just a basic car. My husband called me to talk to him since I made the reservation, and he was condescending and rude telling me that he knew more than I did because he worked there for 20 years. He ultimately gave my husband the SUV, but charged him an additional $20 per day to do so. I am extremely disappointed in my experience this trip.

The agent was extremely rude and gave me a dirty car. When I went back to the desk to tell the agent that it was dirty she gave attitude and canceled my reservation!

I am fighting with budget because I was overcharged more than $200. I waited over a week thinking that it was just the deposit hold, but the money is still not returned to me. It’s impossible to get anyone on the phone and I am very frustrated.

I was not informed when reserving the car on Kayak that I would have to pay additional parking fees if I returned the car after hours.

I reserved my car 3 weeks in advance for 12/26. Upon arrival, and after waiting for quite some time, we were informed that they were out of cars and we’d have to wait for 1-1.5 hours to see if they had any come back. We were put on a waiting list along with people who just booked a day or two prior and ended up waiting 1.5 hours to get a car which was smaller than what we paid for and smelled like smoke. Our luggage barely fit in the back. It really delayed our trip to see family and friends and was not what we paid for.
