Everything especially manager's reception.nothing
The rooms were spacious, so it was comfortable to visit. It was nice to get made to order eggs and omelets at the complimentary breakfast.
Even though they had a nice shower head, I was not impressed with the water pressure.
Check in staff needs to slow down in speaking. I had him repeat several things due to speaking to fast.
Didn't like that the parking wasn't included
Room smelled of smoke, decor was date, chair at frills coming out of it. Pool was beyond disgusting. Gross.
My kids thought it was a super fancy hotel.. The staff was nice and the manager's cocktail hour is a bonus
Typical room. staff was very accommodating and quick to comply with special request.
Lighting in the room was dark.
Location was great. Breakfast was very good, especially the omelet I ordered. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub too...
We were assigned an accessible room that was very spacious. The breakfast was great.
$12 charge for inconvenient parking in somewhat sketchy area. Didn't have a measuring tape, but could have sworn the 'queen bed' was actually a double. Very tight for two.
The rooms were very nice and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. They offered an amazing continental breakfast. The best free breakfast I have ever had in a hotel!!!!! Also They offered a happy hour with free finger foods and drinks.
The limited parking. I had to pay $12 to park at the parking garage which is a little bit of a walk from hotel. There is a $10 charge for internet. I learned after checking in they have 3 smoking rooms...I wish they offered more smoking smoking rooms
Free breakfast and free drinks and snacks at happy hour.
Charge for Internet access. Breakfast ends too soon. (9am)
With the exception of James the omelet chef, staff were curt and abrupt.
We had a lovely stay. The breakfast buffet was wonderful.
Paying for parking.
A hotel that is this expensive without free WIFI. Parking situation is terrible.
Nice breakfast included
Expensive parking. Long walk from garage in somewhat rough neighborhood. Beds somewhat uncomfortable.
Room service provided plentiful portions.
Cost of parking is too high for the level of convenience provided. Somewhat of a long walk to vehicle in near sketchy neighborhood in the city. Room smelled like cigarette smoke.
Spacious rooms, nice managers reception and breakfast
Not clean, found two bugs on the bed when we got there. Used dirty soap in the shower. Staff was not friendly!
Cable channels were limited
the happy hour snacks and wine. and the shuttle service.
The billing is always wrong. They charge you for parking even though you don't park a car. They will remove it if you call them but they count on you forgetting.
it was standard Embasst Suites
service was haphazard, first Embassy suites that did not have free parking-staff poorly trained. poor location
Stayed for a 3 day conference. Housekeeping didn't touch the room until the 3rd night when I asked for towels. Two grumpy men were complaining about the trash piled high (guess I was supposed to empty it). This used to be a classy place. No more.
Attitude of staff
Convenient location. Nice breakfast
Parking fee & distance. Room was chilly even with heat set to high & extra blanket.
Embassy always provides a comfortable stay with large rooms and lots of space. Breakfast buffet is a bonus.
Seems that they 'downgrade' you at check in when they see you book through Travelocity. Hotel was quite empty yet they put us right outside an elevator in a handicap room -- this takes away from bathroom counter space due to added accommodation.
Entire hotel needs upgraded. Expensive parking
Good location, good breakfast buffet
Staff was apathetic, extra charge for parking
We liked the location, since it was right on our travel route. The breakfast was great.
We did not appreciate being told that wifi was $9.95 if we wanted it and that there is a $12.00 charge for parking. I blame Priceline more for this than the hotel chain. The customer should have the option to turn down the deal if there are hidden fees.
The room was terrific.
This hotel charges $12 per day to park and $10 per day for wifi. So basically you can add $22 per day to whatever your bid price is. I was not happy. Oh and you get to walk 1/2 a block to get from parking to the hotel.
Very attractive interior, dramatic lobby. Breakfast was excellent.
Reception staff were anything but welcoming. I would have expected a classy-looking hotel to include common amenities like free parking and Wi-Fi...but it didn't. Finally, very thin walls: If you're planning to be intimate, don't expect it to be private.
The other customers were friendly The hotel was easy to get to
The owners have cheapened the hotel The hotel should have free Internet The hotel should have Valet parking The hotel was under staffed The hotel needs to offer more conveniences
The hotel, itself, was great. The first non-smoking room we were assigned smelled like cigarette smoke. The second room we were assigned had BLACK MOLD in the bathroom.
We requested a king suite with two pack-n-plays and the room was ready when we arrived. Unfortunately they did not have any sheets for them :(
The indoor pool was NOT heated, actually it made us shiver :(. The bathrooms only have showers, NO tubs, not good for kids. And there was a $12 fee to park, which we were not told about before booking. And had to park in the public lot around the corner.
My issue is not with the hotel, my issue, Priceline advertises the hotel as a certain rate but pays less, forcing the customer to receive a smoking or handicapped room. I got a smoking room, told that Priceline pays less, for undesirable rooms.
This place might cost a little more, but I love the Embassy Suites. They've never let me down. I arrived in Charleston, booked at another hotel. When I saw where that one was located, and where the Embassy IS located, well, I had to stay at the Embassy. The Embassy graciously gave me a very competitive rate, even though I had no reservation. I couldn't help but be impressed. The rooms are very large and clean. The layout of the hotel rocks. I like being able to open my curtains and look out over the atrium. There is a free happy hour at night, and the sports bar picks up after that. I met a lot of cool people. Just down the street, easily within walking distance, is a mall and a handful of restaurants. My only complaint would be that the parking garage is not attached to the hotel. But honestly, this is not a big deal. I rode my motorcycle to this Embassy, and I felt safe leaving it in the garage. The staff is very friendly, from the desk, to the bartender, to the garage staff. The full complimentary breakfast is also very nice. All of this combined makes up for the small difference in price. I will definitely stay at an Embassy Suites again. Thank You Embassy Suites!
My husband & I had recommended this hotel all over (US & Caribbean). Now we are embarrassed totally. Employees no longer happy, extra's like for birthdays, anniversaries, etc is now gone. The managers reception is the best part if you are looking for a drink but snacks have truly dropped in quality. Pop corn was the best-that is sad. Hope you aren't a coffee person- ECK. Please beware of the breakfast bar. Yep, fresh omlets, eggs, etc - not sure how your colon will take them. Sausage no taste - Bacon, we won't go that low. Plan on paying for your internet in your room - or go public in the lobby instead the comfort of your expensive room which has a nice bed & accessories - don't expect a lot anymore. Go to a local business & use their free internet and enjoy your environment. This used to be for the past 3 years as our get away-well. . . as they say, all things change. Maybe it is like presidental campaigns- Change. If this is the case, God help us. Fortunately, there are other cities and hotels. We preferred the Embassey Suites to the Hamption, but for the price/quality some of the others. We used to promote Embassy Suites Charleston highly. We didn't mind paying that amount for the room but not even the tv channels are worth it anymore. The Rothbergers
The hotel itself is beautiful. The 'Manager's Reception' was on the skimpy side, but I've seen worse. My main problem was what seemed to be a lack of staff. No discernable concierge, although there was a desk clerk who seemed to be clerk, concierge, bellhop, and doorman all at once. The other clerks seemed to be a tad on the 'easy-going' side. Drink service was slow unless you were inside the restaurant eating - don't bother sitting at the tables outside. \nBut, the room was soothing, the bed heavenly, and the internet connection strong. I'd definitely stay there again - perhaps some of the staff was simply having an off day. Plus, when I put a runner in my last pair of pantyhose, it really helped that the hotel is literally next door to the mall!
WENT TO HOTEL FOR FAMILY REUNION. MY 2 CHILDREN WITH ME AGES 1 AND 7. MY SISTER REQUESTED TO BE NEAR ONE ANOTHER. I ALSO ASKED ABOUT A CRIB FOR MY DAUGHTER SPECIFYING A REAL CRIB NOT A PACK AND PLAY. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE A REAL CRIB. ONCE WE ARRIVED WE CHECKED IN , OUR ROOMS WERE NOT EVEN ON THE SAME FLOOR. MY CARPER IN MY ROOM WAS WET FROM A LEAK.( IWAS GIVEN TOWELS TO COVER IT.) THE CRIB WAS A PACK AND PLAY. FINALLY THEY PRODUCED THE REAL CRIB AFTER ICOMPLAINED. MY SISTERS ROOM SMELLED LIKE SMOKE ALTHOUGH IT WAS A NON SMOKING FLOOR. COULD NOT FIND PARKING IN THE PARKING LOT (PAYING $* A DAY) PARKED ELSEWHERE. SECURITY AND MAINTENANCE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT TRIED TO HELP. REQUESTED A BLANKET FOR THE BABY. WAS TOLD WOULD BE PUT ON A LIST. WE ASKED SECURITY IF THAT MEANT WOULD WE GET THE BLANKET LATER OR JUST WAIT AND SEE. THE GENTLEMAN SAID THAT WAS UNACCEPTABLE AND HE PROCEEDED TO GET US A BLANKET. FROM THE BEGINNING THIS WAS A DISASTER OF A TRIP. \nTHIS HOTEL HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE AN EXCELLANT HOTEL...FIRST CLASS...BUT THE STAFF COMPLETELY RUINED THE VISIT WITH THIS HOTEL. I WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS HOTEL.
Very nice hotel....will visit again!
While we were waiting to check in the computer system went down. It was 11:30 PM and we just wanted to get to bed. It took 45 minutes to get a room. The next morning we found the breakfast to be below par for an Embassy Suites - cold and not very good.
I loved this hotel lobby, It was the best I have ever seen. The rooms were nice also. Maybe next time they could provide a map of everything in the hotel. But check this hotel out, it is beautiful... Will be there again at the same time for and anual event.
Extremely nice staff, comfortable beds with premium bedding and a ''to die for'' breakfast. What more can you ask for?
