Excellent location in the historic area, exceptionally pleasant staff, very comfortable beds. If you eat breakfast every day, get the breakfast package. This made our stay even more relaxing. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
The bathroom was a bit snug. Price was high, but comparable for other hotels in the historic area.
Surprisingly the staff wasn't very friendly or helpful. They seems very aloof.
Small rooms, smaller bathrooms, no balconies, rooms badly need refurbished. Dingy looking. Not any nicer than a Super 8. It's conveniently located is the best that can be said for it, but at that price it's not worth it. Stay at the Wentworth instead, only a bit more for an actual luxury hotel.

Convenient to wedding events as we were able to walk to the church and reception. The location is great for everything in the center of Charleston as far as dining and shopping. The hotel lobby and common areas have a lot of charm, and the rooms are adequate and comfortable, but small.
Rooms are on the small side as are the bathrooms. Our room was on the second floor and all we could see was scaffolding outside our window. The valet staff was a little inattentive.
Our family has made a holiday trip to an historic city a Christmas tradition. This year we chose Charleston and The Mills House. We loved everything about it! The staff was polite, friendly, and always ready to help. Guest Services Manager Alfonce McKinney made sure we had a great room with a terrific view. The location of the hotel was perfectly situated. We were conveniently located within walking distance of everything. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back!

CONSTRUCTION GOING ON OUTSIDE THE BUILDING
There was great live music in their garden at night! We had light food and drinks there which were excellent. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the gym was better than average. Service was excellent.
Location, grand decor
Broken luggage racks (2) in room, shower water backs up in tub, immediately three inches to stand in while showering
Poor staff. Tried to charge me $100 for 8 place settings for the extra suite we paid for. We had paid for 5 rooms and a parlor suite and told front desk three times we needed place settings. We told no problem before I booked and the morning of the event. Then a hour before the event the banquet manager personally comes to the room and says he needs $100 before he can bring up the dishes.

Checking in did not go well. We arrived at 1:30 and were told the room was not ready and we should come back in an hour. We came back at 3:30 and the room was still not ready. Then when we got to our room, they lost our bag tag and it took over an hour to bring our bags to the room. We also didn't get the king size bed, but instead two doubles. They weren't very apologetic about it all either. They charged me $0.50 for a call to the 1-877 help number for wifi issues. Parking wasn't great either.
