Bed was very comfortable.
Nice hotel, staff was very friendly, bed and linens were comfortable. Check in was quick and easy.
Air Conditioner inadequate. Smoking section is too close to the front entrance/exit. The lobby smelled of smoke.
Great location for visiting our kids
Expensive, uncomfortable beds,no continental breakfast, went to the bar for a drink when we got there. I had a double Stoli on the rocks $22 and it was Happy Hour!
Greeting staff was very rude asking for a credit card
Well kept and courteous staff
Friendly staff always make me feel like am home.
Clean, big rooms...
Pool area was AWFUL.... Also you can hear people easily outside your door with the door shut
placed looked great
never cleaned our room. We left at 9 am that morning and came back to our room in the same condition 8pm that night.
Elevator was slow and only one was working. Shower sucked.
Clean, no overuse of fragranced cleaners, generally pleasant staff, neat lobby
Broken elevator during stay, staff not present around restaurant, check-in clerk took another call during our check-in. Heat variable in the room.
my lock on room didn't work and had to keep getting new room card keys
3rd stay at this hotel....perfect in every way..love it
Small room , no breakfast, no microwave , no bathtub.
The hotel staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.
We had an issue with our toilet that it would continue to run after flushing. Had to lift lid and 'jiggle' the handle to get the flapper to seal. Also, the room door was very difficult to open. I could see this being a fire hazard.
Evening coffee in the lounge.
Mrs Michelle is awesome. She was very easy to talk to and her attention to detail along with her willingness to please made my stay one of the best yet. Infect my wife and I was tempted to stay a few more days.
Great room and friendly staff
Many loud neighbor that keep us until 2:30 in the morning. Called the front desk but no help.
I wanted to stay near Virginia Beach but couldn't afford the prime season beach rates. Chesapeake isn't too far from VB so it made the trip a little more affordable.
Our room had no ac and there was hair in the tub. We called. They were working on ac and said they would send housekeeping. We went for errands. Came back and decided to eat in lounge. Took two hours for three of us had one waitress for entire lounge.
Staff was great and price is good.
The walls seem pretty thin. We can hear everything from the hallway; from dogs barking to every single conversation, and room doors closing. It was almost like our door was made of one piece of dry wall.
The pool was nice. Free wireless and parking.
Our bathroom ceiling developed a strange brown mold overnight that dripped into the tub. That was kind of gross.
Hot and humid in the common areas. I requested a king low floor and received two full size beds on 4th floor at end of hall.
Front desk staff was very professional and accommodating. Lobby areas were clean, modern, and functional.
Each time the hot water was used in our room a loud noise came from the pipes. We heard it in the hallway from other rooms as well. We had an odor in the first room and was moved to another room.
High quality room, bed, bathroom, lobby, etc.
VERY noisy the first night. There were extremely loud people running around the hallway after midnight. Doors are loud.
You have to continually cut the timer on your fridge to keep the food cold. The rooms are quite a distance from the front parking lot. -
The location and ammenities
The internet service is extremely SLOW! makes it very hard to get work done.
Not informed about construction and non working elevators.
Pleasant, courteous and helpful staff.
Room smell/cleanliness; some doors and elevator not working.
Enjoyed stay. Large clean rooms, beautifully decorated. Modern hotel with great workout room. Only dislike was food and drink prices. Very high especially Sunday breakfast. Small portions and high price.
I don't know where to start with this one. For reference, I travel quite a bit and usually stay in 4 or 5 star hotels. We selected this hotel using a combination of star rating and reviews from previous travelers. In my opinion, neither was accurated. My wife and I planned to use this hotel as a quick weekend get away to celebrate a wedding anniversary. I used a promotional offer to purchase a 'Romance Package' that included champagne, chocolates, turn down service, and breakfast. In a nutshell out of all listed above, we received the breakfast coupon. When I discussed the omission with the staff, they acknowledged their error but couldn't understand why it was a big deal and offered the items that I expected the night before the next day at checkout. Obviously this wasn't acceptable. Needless to say it wasn't a pleasant stay. More importantly than the individual trip problems, there were room problems as well. The room is average, the bed's comfort is the best thing about the room. The hotel walls are PAPER THIN. After being awakended by people next door slamming their door as they prepared for checkout at 7:00 a.m., I lay in bed listening to the sound of folks walking around and having normal conversations in the hall way. The sound proofiing in the hotel is horrible, so much so that my wife and I had a conversation about how unbelievably poor the noise cancellation was. Anyway, this definitely isn't a 4-5 star hotel. The lobby and entrance may signify 4-5star but the room quickly subtracts from that. Finally, as an acknowledgement that they had really made some huge mistakes during my stay, the hotel's management fully compensated me (only after prodding from their corporate customer service office). BE AWARE!!
Older hotel (conversion from another brand) but well-kept, and furnishings in good condition. Pleasant staff members. Plenty of parking front and back. Bathrooms dated and showing wear. Close to Greenbriar Mall and dine-out places, and to the freeway, but quiet too. Not crowded at all. Internet worked fine, plus business center was well prepared, but they charge for EVERYTHING they can. Bring your own machine and print somewhere else. Nice pool (didn't use), and new exercise room gear (didn't use). I wouldn't call this a '3' place, but maybe 2-1/2 on an average day. Price -- I used Priceline and go the place for 1/2 their posted rate.
The Marriott Norfok Chesapeake was nice and clean and centrally located. I loved the bathrooms, the fluffy pillows, and will make this my place to stay when I return here. Suzetta Perkins
I was pleased to discover a full service Marriott in Chesapeake. It lived up to the expectation of a Marriott and even had a happy hour with great beers. The decor was not like most Marriotts, very bright and cheerful
