I arrived at the airport, and the company was closed. I booked my rental three months ago; now I have to go to the open rental company and pay the going price. Air lines run 24 hours a day, and so should rental car companies at the airport.

Horrible experience. I picked car up to a car with no brakes , filthy and no charger installed. I asked to replace car and was told I’m the one who picked an economy car. Rude! Then replaced car had faulty engine and brakes problems but I kept it since it as a hassle for them to replace. Car was also filthy. When I returned the car they told me I had to go vacuum the car from sand that had no foot mat. Rep stated on the paperwork it was 3 mats and was a lie. Only 2 back mats came with car. Only reason I didn’t score it poor is because I survived this death trap!

Zero customer service through dollar and kayak both. Basically got screwed out of my rental. So I paid for nothing. Crazy this was my third rental in two weeks through kayak and have many more to rent but will never use your services again

Until the rental car industry drastically shortens the time from the time one walks up to the rental counter until pickup of the vehicle, I for one will not be happy with the pickup procedure. The return was quick and excellent. I was not aware of understood the breakdown of the final bill.

The experience was terrible. I reserved online (easily). arrived early, got in line, and scanned the QR code as requested to expedite my checkin. After entering my DL and CC information, I received an alert on phone telling me my reservation was confirmed and the pickup counter was Fast Break. What wa “Fastbreak?” I inquired and was told it’s a location across the parking lot and J could just pick up my car. I left the line and lugged my luggage across a very cracked and potholed parking lot with no walkway to FastBreak where the receptionist was extremely rude and told me I did not have a reservation. I showed her the message I received. She said I needed a number which I did not have. She told me to essentially help myself. I eventually found out I was at the wrong counter and I had no Fastbreak Number. I had no idea what that was but she refused to help me or even tell me what Fastbreak was even when I asked for an explanation. I would not have left my place in line if I had not received the notice in my phone. I went back to the Budget counter (note I had family in tow, with lots of luggage) across the broken parking lot, back to the line I had left, now twice as long (4 times as long as I was midway through the previous line). After over an hour, I finally picked up my car. Overall the pick up facility was in terrible shape. Only the lady who check me out as I drove off the parking lot offered a greeting and smile. There is no customer service elsewhere at the LAX location - everyone there seemed to either hate the customers or their job or both. The random erroneous email telling me to pick up at Fastbreak was a terrible idea for whoever put that in place. Also the bathroom is in terrible shape. The door is extremely damaged and nicked all over. The lady at the Miramar location where I dropped off the car was very sweet despite being terribly busy as a one man show for the location. Overall the electirc car was new, drove well. The outside was dirty (it had just rained, but the interior was clean. The price was great. I noticed during pickup at the airport, 6 shuttles from Alamo/Enterpise passed by before one old dirty bus from Budget came. (Note I had the same price offer from multiple car rental companies when I was booking and purposely picked Budget!) The shuttle driver was nice and appreciative of the tip I gave him. I recall telling myself multiple times during the experience, in the future, as long as I have other options, I would never choose Budget again. It was a very (and unnecessarily) unpleasant experience, especially after a overseas flight. I would also recommend anyone else from picking Budget, at least the LAX location. Hope this helps your team improve your operations.

The worst experience I've ever had with a car rental, hotel or restaurant. Manager at Hertz yelled and pointed his finger in my 70 year old wife's face. We paid extra with Kayak to get a gas powered car and were given a Tesla with no option of getting the gas car we had reserved. Hertz gave no instruction on how to use the car such as how to start it. how to lock it, etc. Should at least refund me the difference between the gas and electric car rental price. Hertz surely hurts - never again. Roger

Upon getting vehicle. Upon starting vehicle, it flashed a message that back tire treading low, needs Maintenace or checked. I asked the gentleman working about it at the exit. He said don't worry about it. 'You should be OK' didn't sound promising. So, I asked the supervisor on duty, he said let's switch your vehicle out. Then, upon turning in the vehicle, the scan person was out to lunch, although 3 able bodies sitting and or standing there said just leave the key in the car and when she gets back from lunch, we will make sure to let her know to scan your vehicle back and email you a receipt. Been over 14 hours since that occurred still no receipt. Concerning that 3 employees can sit and aren't crossed train to scan a vehicle in. Doesn't make sense to me. This is a very sad situation at CVG airport.

Hertz didn’t bother to contact me until less than 24 hours prior to pickup to inform me that they couldn’t rent a car to me. My husband reserved the car and used his CC. I tried to use MY debit card and was told Hertz didn’t accept debit cards. ?? When I tried to cancel the reservation with Hertz I was directed to another number to call 🙄 I will not use Hertz again.

Two days before our rental reservation I received a phone call to inform me there were no Vans available . The Enterprise Rental Manager did not do anything to assist us in the inconvenience. I reached out to Enterprise Corporate and never heard a response. Spoke to a Chris both times. He told me the Vans have been out well over 2 weeks so my response was why did you wait 2 days before our trip to inform me . I will never use this website or Enterprise again. I was able to rent a car through another Company and they now have a New Loyal Customer. Enterprise gave poor Custimer Service and your website was misleading.

I was charged twice for the rental. Once when I booked the rental through CarRentals.com, I paid $301.08 and was told I had to pay a remaining $86.01 at pickup. When I picked up the vehicle, I was charged a full $387.99.

Nothing. There was absolutely nothing I liked about this company or my experience.

I booked this rental one week ahead of the day I needed it. I called ahead to be sure that I had every document that I needed and the method of payment would be accepted. I was told that I would be able to use my bank card and it could be run as credit (because it has the master card logo on it); just bring my social security card with me as a second form of identification. I have five credit cards in my name and making enough of a payment on one of them to be able to use it for the rental was well within means. However, I didn't think I needed to do that because I was told that I could use my bank card. I showed up to get my rental on the day I was supposed to. I was to leave town the next day at 5 a.m. I was told that, no, I could not use that card and, since I didn't pay my credit card bill enough to cover the cost of the rental, I had no car to use and no one could do anything for me at all. To be clear, I did not have a flight. I was renting the car local to use to go out of town for three days. I did mention this to the person that I called because I have never rented from near an airport before. They told me on the phone that everything would be absolutely fine. I asked twice, are you sure? I was told yes both times. Since it was noon and I needed the car the next day at 5 a.m., it was impossible for me to go to a different company to find a rental. Everyone needs a 24 hour notice. On top of all of it, I drove 35 minutes one way (this took about an hour and fifteen minutes out of my day) and the lady I spoke with when I went to pick up the car was extremely rude. I could not be more disappointed. Very, very bad communication and very, very bad service.

The salesman asked if I wanted to upgrade to a Charger for $18 extra a day so I said no. Then he’s looking over my shoulder as he’s filling out my paperwork and says wow they’re really fixing you up today and I turn around to see a very nice Cadillac sedan pull up. So I was like- for real? Is this an upgrade for free for some reason? He then stated no- just an option. This was very deceptive in my opinion. He was nice but I felt disrespected as though he thought I was stupid. I work for high end businesses in the financial district in San Francisco. I know a bad salesman when I see them. He was nice but pretty sly.

I picked up a dirty car in Cincinnati to take it to mbs airport.When I dropped the car off they asked if I had the miles I said no and they said if you don't nee your receipt you are good.I thought I should just get the miles so I did and the girl at the counter printed me a receipt for double what I was told.I asked the girl why and she said it was because I dropped it off early yes early.She told me that's how third party sites get you.I said what does that mean?She said she would of been able refund my money if I would of went straight through Avis never again will I do that...

Highly disappointed with this company, this company decides that they are above the federal law and will not accept cash as occurrency. And you're only option is to follow whatever they want otherwise you cannot take a car and all of your holiday will be ruined.

The night before they were going to take my credit (chime credit not bank) . My son was stuck in Florida with his four year old. They wouldn’t rent it me, my. Ex husband went with exact same kind of card. And they rented go figure!

Horrible - do not book with NextCar. They denied my car insurance because I was not the primary policyholder. I have full coverage insurance, so there was no logistical reason to deny it. The supplemental insurance cost as much as the rental itself. I was never told at the time of booking that I would be forced to use their insurance if I wasn’t the primary policyholder. I was only told so 24 hours out from my booking. I’m actively trying to get a refund for this.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
