Motel One was recommended to me by a German friend. he said it was “good value,” and he was right. I initially was skeptical about location, because I walked from the train station. However, by the second day, I realized that the hotel’s location is actually very good. It’s just a few doors from Neumarkt and all the commercial-shopping possibilities that area offers. Taschen (superb bookstore) is five doors down! I like restaurants especially, and there is a whole host of choices here, including a very fine bakery that I used instead of taking breakfast at the hotel. The room was comfortable and quite adequate. Well-designed, with efficiency in mind. Well thought out light switches, for example. What stands out for me is the staff, particularly John at the front desk. The hotel resets its Wi-Fi every day and my iPhone had trouble reconnecting every day. John patiently tried to solve the secret of how my iPhone could get reconnected. He was tireless. You just don’t get service like this in the US. I was so impressed that I signed up for their members club. I will use this chain again.
