Great staff. Could not have been friendlier or accommodating.
Location room staff
Every thing was great
When my wife, daughter and I sat around the fireplace in the lobby, there was this guy working at the hotel staring us for no reason - making us uncomfortable.
The hotel was very clean, great location and the staff was friendly
Staff was friendly and attentive. Room was excellent. Definitely deserved its 3 star rating (and more).
A lot of outside noise reaching the rooms, even on the 6th floor. Invest in new, double paned windows to reduce noise on street side.
Friendly, professional staff
Limited cable options. Two tiered internet access.
Breakfast bar was not as organized as it should have been.
The friendliness and helpful attitudes of the staff -- from housekeeping to the front desk.
The cable tv channel selection was very disappointing. I was there for 12 nights and watched by iPad most of the time or nothing at all.
The staff. The room was great. The staff both evening and morning was Top Notch. Thank you.
The location was great. And, having parking available was most helpful.
I would have liked breakfast to be included with the room rate, but I'm not complaining because I got a good rate through Priceline, anyway.
Staff was very helpful and polite. Room was clean and nice.
Very difficult to get into hotel's parking garage.
Price from Priceline.
clean hotel, great service...
I got billed twice for the room. Hotel billed me 3 days after I left after priceline had already billed me. This should not happen.
Had a shuttle bus that took me and picked me up from a local restaurant
The Bed was like a brick - tossed and turned all night - but this is what I expected form a 3 star hotel on priceline - Unortunately I could not get an accepted bid for the 3.5star
The hotel was very noisy. I could hear voices from other rooms and the hallway.
Beds were comfortable
Road noise was terrible, blinds didnt close completely.shower faucet had bad water delivery. Only one regular coffee in room. Given wrong info about shuttle after Kenny concert. We we stranded in the rain, alone from out of town, trying to get a cab.
We made reservations based on the recommendation of a friend, and were extremely satisfied in every way. Staff was courteous, room luxurious and location perfect for a visit to the campus at University of South Carolina--Columbia. Thank you!! Unfortunately, did not find out if breakfast was included or not.
We use this hotel for when we have visiting clients or bring in people for interviews. This is a very good hotel for business travel. Its location right downtown, close to the Vista and the main USC campus is its biggest advantage.
Was in town on a business trip. Contacted the hotel when I landed and they were at the airport within 20 minutes to pick me up. The staff person who arrived to get me was very friendly and told me about the area around the hotel, such as resturants and entertainment. There are several very nice resturants within walking distance, or the hotel will take you anywhere you would like to go and come back and pick you up. Staff at hotel was wonderful. Room was nice and had floor to ceiling windows with gorgeous view of USC campus. I honestly can't think of a negative thing to say about my stay.
I am a big supporter of Marriott, especially Courtyard. I suggest to travelers to pass on this one, however. I had to change rooms 3 times in one night!!!! The first time, the toilet didn't work. I was moved to a room that had the dirtest sheets I have ever experienced. Obviously it was a room that needed some work because there were tools left in the bathroom, which was not clean. I called the manager again and was placed in another room, not much better because the air conditioner stayed on one temp and could not be adjusted. I was comped for the room, but still would not stay at this hotel again. I do have to say the manager, Sean, was very nice and helpful, but by the time I was able to communicate with him, it was too late. Very loud in the hallways too. Lots of students and familiies running up and down the hallways. Think twice before staying here. Beware of the parking garage if you drive a SUV. It is only a 6 ft. ceiling and it will scrape the top of your vehicle. No other parking is available around this hotel, can't really park on the street. It is $* per night to park in the garage. There were all kinds of things floating on the surface of the pool too. Yuck.
I have been to Columbia three times already with my girls in the Army and this trip was the best. Although on the pricey side, this was a very nice Hotel with a touch of class. The ONLY thing I found wrong was the bathroom did not have an exhaust fan. So either you shower with the door open or wait til the mirrors defogged. Other than that, the front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful whenever I needed something and the atmosphere was cozy since I was a little on the cold side when we were in Columbia this time. We didn't do room service from the hotel as we ordered from a take out joint that delivered and that was pretty good. I loved that they had a mini fridge. The breakfast, although on the high side, was good. They did have omelets but not much to it.
I stayed here with a friend from out of town during their stay in Columbia. The rooms were wonderful, nice big flat screen tv and comfy beds. No hair dryer, but that's my only real complaint. Elevator is being serviced, so the remaining one was slow as molasses. The pool is nice and inviting and it's close to lots of things. Shuttle service is a PLUS and the staff were very accomodating. Definitely would stay again!
I was in town with my family visiiting in laws. We stayed at this hotel for quite a few days. From the moment we checked in we were treated like royality. The staff was SO FRIENDLY! They were so nice to the kids as well! It means a lot when the staff takes the time to speak to you and gets down on the kids level and speaks with them as well. The rooms were SO nice. They were immaculant as well. The beds were very comfy. We had so much room! Even with 2 small kids! The housekeeping staff was really great with cleaning the room. They took great care of the girls toys and stuffed animals. We would come back to the hotel and their stuffed toys would be arranged on the bed like they would be at home. What a nice touch!!!. My husband had to do a little work while we were visiting. He used the business center everyday. Everything is brand new and top of the line. Anything he needed was there! A few times while he was working managers came over to make sure he had all of the necessary things to complete what he was doing. Can you beleive that! The kids loved the pool as well. This area was ship shape as well. They even had an outdoor fireplace out there...it was way to hot to be used while we were there though!!!! I liked the COMFORTABLE, CLEAN pool furniture- not a typical generic lounger. The thing that is really nice about this hotel is they haven't cut any corners. You can see from the staff they all really care about quality! I give this hotel an A+++I will def be back again!
The halls & elevators were shoddy, but the people and the rooms made up for this. The people were very friendly. The rooms were very comfortable. Wish we'd had time to enjoy the fire pit. Nice touch. We enjoyed our stay.
