This was a fully remodeled historic building that offers pristine, modern rooms with a fabulous shower, bath sheets and a comfy king mattress. Covid precautions at breakfast were the best anywhere in three month of COVID travel in Spain and Portugal. Each diner received a sealed paper bag that included metal silverware and serving tongs, a paper napkin and a clear plastic glove to use at the Buffet bar that had a plexiglass hood. Artisanal breads and other cold breakfast items were very good as were the hot beverages. Tables were well spaced and the room had very high ceilings. The manager was on hand at breakfast and made contact with every guest. All hotel staff were extremely nice and helpful. Security was excellent. The only non-standard thing was that in the evening hours no one was at the front desk. Consequently, check-in was only during prescribed hours. All in all a great value. The only downside is that you cannot drive up in front of the hotel. One must unload below the square and bring luggage up a steep slope. This would be difficult for anyone with any kind of strength or mobility issues. The hotel is wheelchair accessible, but I was told that none of the bathrooms have doors wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair.
