Cons:A "roadside assistance" fee was added to my rental without asking, increasing the rental fee by 50%. It took me a lot of effort and multiple questions to have that removed from my rental.
A
3.6 Poor
Cons:Site did not specify that the location was not at the airport. Dollar counter at airport said it was an unrelated location and they could not help me. Told me I needed to take a cab to off-site location. Hours of the location were never disclosed. I had 12 minutes to get a cab and get to the site with my car or I was out of luck until the next day! Cost of the cab negated any savings from booking on your site. VERY rude and unprofessional agent at the counter.
A
4.8 Mediocre
Pros:Check-in was no issue, had the reservation and the car without the usual Dollar hassle. Went downhill from there. Kiosk oriented for exit. Car was dirty, inside and out, had to wait for a less than attentive agent at the Kiosk. Make really sure you look the car over thoroughly and document every little dirt mark, rock put, shopping cart ding, etc. Returning the car was a hassle, kiosk was not manned at 4:00 PM and when the agent showed up he tried to collect damage for a dirt and dust streak. I would never turn in a car through the key drop. Overall good rate, poor service, and less than trustworthy staff.

10.0 Wonderful
Pros:Check-in & returning the car was very easy & fast. No issues at all with the reservation, nor price upon return. The shuttle back to the airport was very efficient and clean too! I highly recommend this location for renting while visiting Alaska! (We chose this location as it was outside the airport & saved us a couple hundred $'s!)

Pros:Nothing
Cons:Waited in line for over an hour an a half, and then my reservation wasn't honored. The guy at the counter was rude and dismissive to not only me, but all customers before me. (He also notified me that he was an independent operator and didn't need to honor the Dollar corporate reservations system.) I ended up going with National Car rental; which had excellent service and I had a car within 10 minutes. I rent cars every 2 weeks for my job and Dollar has the worst service by far. This is the 3rd strike for Dollar by me. I am not sure how this company stays in business.

7.2 Good
Pros:Was surprised we had to pay an extra $10 a day for my husband to drive. Other rental companies don't charge for a spouse...
Cons:My first car smelled like smoke. They made it right and gave me another car.

10.0 Wonderful
Pros:When I made the reservation the lowest cost car available was an SUV (and it was much cheaper than any compact car at the airport itself). When we arrived (after a quick, easy, and cheap taxi ride--about $12 with tip) we had a choice of an Outback, a Forester, or, for a discount, a Crosstrek (sp?), which is a medium sized sedan (about the size of a Civic, but with a covered hatchback). The discount from the change in vehicle classification almost paid for our second-driver fee, which worked out nicely for us. Much better service than one generally receives at an airport location, and I am pretty sure we were on our way faster than when we have rented at the airport.
Cons:I am hoping for the best, but with a car that had less than 3k miles at pickup, and Alaskan roads (all paved, but lots of gravel driveways) the car got dirty, and the number of scratches in the paint when we picked it up made it clear that the paint on the Crosstrek is much too fragile. Not the rental car company's fault, of course, but I hope that we are not charged (I would dispute it, having looked over the car before we turned it over, but there would be a hassle).

Pros:Made it so easy to add a day to our rental.

Pros:The car was clean, comfortable and nice.
Cons:Was so expensive. I paid 585 dollars for 5 days just for Toyota Corolla. Don't like it! I could rent a car higher lever for two weeks for this price. It's really terrible. Will not use this company more!
