The staff was ok and the room was clean and quiet.
The room was what I would expect for the money. The room was large, it was comfortable. The TV channel selection was good. The hotel was dated. Overall the room seemed clean. The only down side was that in the morning when we were getting ready to leave. I moved the sheets around to make sure we didn't leave anything and I found some dry blood on my sheet which made me feel uncomfortable. It was a small amt. I didn't tell management but I arranged the sheet to the cleaning staff would see it. The heating/cooling did not work very well. It was cool outside but our room was warm. I turn the theromostat down low but it was still warm. They had a floor fan in the room which we used.
I would not recommend it to those who have grandchildern traveling with them as we did. It does not have a pool and I missed that when booking it. My grandkids were totally disappointed with that. Other than that it was a nice place to stay and centrally located.
only problem was that the hotel staffing closes at midnight during the winter and i was unaware of that. we didnt get to the hotel till about 2 am and was forced to ride around and sleep in car for a few hours till they opened. so we lost a night att the hotel, but other than that the staff and service was nice while we were 'staying' there.
Parking spaces were rather close for an SUV. There was no hair dryer but I should have packed one. The breakfast was adequate. The second morning someone forgot to turn on the coffee pot so there was no coffee ready. The housekeeping employees were very cordial, however, and helped with extra towels. Overall, though, it is hard to overlook a rude reception. I would return except for that experience.
Although we didn't have any 'problems', the room wasn't as clean as we would have liked and it had a weird smell. There was complimentary breakfast, but it was really poor selection (danishes that you can buy out of a machine, low quality coffee). We have stayed at hotels for a lot cheaper that offered much better accomodations
We have stayed at the Econo in Durango several times. A good choice for the budget conscious, convenient to downtown. Rooms are really nice and the pillow-top mattresses in our rooms were better than our own at home. Friendly staff who guided us to several of the favorite local restaurants.
but what do you expect for an Econolodge? It was built in the 70's and reflects that. My fiance wasn't impressed with the doughnuts and swissrolls for their continental breakfast and I wouldn't liked to have a minifridge which seems pretty standard nowadays. I do have to say it is in a good location.
We were a little concerned with older reviews but pleasanly surprised with the motel, room and friendly staff. Great value for money and convenient to downtown. We are headed back wtih friends later this summer.
I was a little nervous after reading the other reviews, but the hotel has upgraded a lot since those, I think. The service was good and people were friendlly, and the room comfortable.
Room was not very clean. Bed was low to the floor. Bathrom was old. Parking lot was cracked. Outside ash trays were always full. Needs renovations. Breakfast was limited but OK
Had to buy air freshners for room. Maybe if they used carpet freshner everyday when they vaccumed it might have helped. I realize the place is old, Chairs in room could of been wiped down w/ hot cloth.Arms on chairs felt stickyVery reasonable rate & room was cleaned every day
We made some last minute reservations to stay in Durango and most places were full and rather costly. We were able to book a room for our family of 4 and they gave us the ''family suite''. It was a huge room with 2 king beds and a couch. The area was as big as most apartments. We could tell it was sort of old but was kept clean. The price was very reasonable as well. It had plenty of room and I would be more than happy to stay there again. Don't plan on filling up on the Continental breakfast however.
