The room was crowded with a microwave and refrigerator and neither worked. Not all of the lights worked. The bathroom ceiling was peeling and dropping plaster on the floor from water damage. The bathroom floor was warped, making it difficult to close.I would not stay here again. It also makes me question this chain of hotels.
The hotel was conveniently located just off I-57. And, Dave was very nice when we checked in at 11pm.
Yes - dirty room, lack of ice machine in building, no smoke detectorAfter working all day and then driving through freezing drizzle for 5 hours, we arrived at the Days Inn in Effingham, IL. This hotel is older and it is need of a renovation. Our room was filthy and not just old and worn dirty. The carpet clearly had not been vacuumed since there were little scraps of paper everywhere (like you get when you tear a piece of paper out of a spiral notebook), the bathroom wall looked like a crime scene and the smoke detector had been removed. The bathroom had black fingerprints all over it, the vanity was basically three pieces of plywood nailed together around a sink and there were cobwebs pretty much anywhere the walls meet the ceiling. I could not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Pool out of order. Our room had a large leak in the ceiling with a puddle of water on the floor. Two separate buildings. We had to drive to get to our room.
Parking sucked, pool not n working order, ice machines not working, no cold soda machines, staff using foul language, not enough room to accomadate guests for breakfast

dirtythe clerk was not very friendly. when we arrived at our room the heat was not on as I am used to when I arrive and the room was runned down. looked as if someone had layed on the bed and the toilet ran for a good three minutes each time you flushed it. would not recommended this hotel.
The price and the location.
The hallways were dark and dreary and smelled bad. The telephone didn't work, so I missed the 3 calls of our traveling companions as they waited for us to come to breakfast.

It was not clean at all, the pool was nasty. Was 2 building and nothing in the second building woorked. There was no water pressure.It was dirty. It was two building that were not connected at all. The heated pool was in another hotel that the owners own as well but the pool was nasty. There was no water pressure and the controls for the hot water did not work. I had to throw out the socks that i walked around the room in because they were sock black. Most of all, the entire place was DIRTY.
Hotel was advertised with pool and no pool on property had to walk to the neighboring hotel to use pool. Bath room door didn't close had to walk over the bed to hang up clothes.This isn't a review on the hotel but Priceline customer service. When I checked in and was informed there wasn't a pool on property I called customer service. After 40 minutes and 3 different agents I was offered a 20% discount on my bill or I could book another Hotel pay for the 2 nights and then call back to see if I qualify for a refund on my original booking. Since it was after 7:00 pm I elected to take the 20% discount. The call was on September 27th and I'm still waiting for my email from Priceline with the status of my refund. So my question is why was my credit card charged as soon as I booked the hotels but it can take more then a week for a simple refund. Plenty, the tiles in the bathroom were loose and coming up, the ceiling tile had water stains, had to hold down toilet handle to flush, the coffee maker had not been cleaned out and coffee was left in pot with mold growing, bugs and spider webs in room.Will not be staying there again. Felt like we were in a dungeon. The room smelled of mold/mildew. Just plain disappointed.
