I was expecting a Ford Edge, recieved a Ford Explorer. While upgrades are nice, the difference in gas milage was significant. We drove from St Louis to Yellowstone National Park and back. Also the car was not ready at our scheduled time so we had to wait for the car to be cleaned, about 20 min. While not Budgets fault, I did not like the dail shift control or the information screen in the explorer. The drop-off was quick easy and hassle free, but we were not given a receipt. As an experienced traveler, I knew that the receipt would be e-mailed to me, but my wife was upset that I could not tell her how much the car rental had cost at drop off.

Easy pick up and drop off. Surprised the vehicle did not have a car wash before we got it, but not a big deal. Also not sure it had even been gone through because there was some small garbage on the floor in back seat area. First time in mini van and was surprised how nice the ride was.

Would have been nice to have the more comfortable vehicle that I had originally reserved but I also get that there aren’t that many rentals out there during these times.

Nothing. Corporate said they would credit me 3 days rental car by email. I never received anything.

Cons:

The company needs to follow through with what they say the are going to do. No compensation.

Pros:

Easy pickup.

Cons:

I picked up the car in the dark. Once it was light I could see the disgusting condition of the car. I called to complain and they were sorry but no help. I have pictures if anyone is interested. Avis isn’t interested as they never contacted me after. Poor customer service.

Pros:

Price was great. Employees behind the counter for pick up and return were extremely pleasant. Loved the roominess of the vehicle.

Cons:

The car had a funny smell to it, like smelly gym clothes were left in it. Other companies have you prepay for gas if you’d like ata cheaper price so you can return the car without a full tank of gas. Find it helpful sometimes as you may be running behind and don’t have time to fill up or can’t find a gas station near by. When checking in and out there was only one person helping behind the desk. Would have been nicer if there was two people to keep things moving quicker.

Pros:

Staff at pickup was very friendly and then staff at drop off was great. I forgot my Kindle in the car and they phoned me right away and kept it for me. Amazing service.

Cons:

Was very disappointed to rent a $100 per day car without bluetooth. In 2019 bluetooth should be standard.

We ordered a premium car--Impala and instead given a full-sized car. Though my paperwork said Impala, since we booked through carRentals..com, Avis wouldn't honor it. The first car that we were given reeked of cigarettes. We then received a Ford Fusion and, although clean, was too small for 5 people

The car was ready when I needed it. The car was the size I had requested. Customer service was excellent The location of the pickup was better than expected.

The car I rented was clean and almost brand new. I had it for 9 days and enjoyed driving it (2017 Impala)

The drop off process wasn't explained very well.

Pros:

The customer service at the desk was the best I have ever experienced. Casey was the best. I wish he could teach a class on how customer service is the core to a company. The transaction was smooth and fast, he explained everything and got us on our way in no time.

Cons:

There were some water bottle caps in the car and the car didn't look like it was vacuumed in the trunk.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
