The worst experience ever this place is a scam they wanted me to put a $17,000 hold on my card which basically covers the entire cheap car they were renting me since I did not take their expensive insurance and wanted to use my credit card provided insurance. Luckily I used Mexcar which was wayyyyyy cheaper and they only put like a $500 hold which was immediately taken off my account once vehicle was returned. Stay away from this place at all costs!!

Europcar’s customer service was outstanding. The only difficulties we had were finding the place (the directions on both Google and the Europcar hotline are incorrect, they are not located in the parking area they say they are behind the station, they are located in front of the station with all of the other rental car companies), and when we were unable to make it to the office before closing due to travel delays, they couldn’t get us the promised rates the next day and we were unable to make changes in Expedia either. Will book through them directly next time as we paid their rates in the end anyways.

Try and force you to buy extra stuff and lie about required extra insurance saying it’s a legal requirement when it’s not and I proved I had extra insurance from my personal vehicle insurance AND the credit card I used. They said it doesn’t can’t and I had to buy theirs. Liars and thieves.

The deposit for the car was 3,000usd which you had to let them charge you on a card and then refund later. The process was unorganized and took so much longer than necessary. There were tons of hidden fees they required as well so the price of the rental on the website was actually less than the total price I had to pay.

When I landed, I called to pick up the rental car and was just told they had no cars left and that I needed to contact corporate to get a refund. The agent was very blunt and didn’t offer any real apology. I was left stranded with a 7 month old baby. We ended up having to pay $50 for a taxi to my hotel and the next morning got a rental car from enterprise costing us $280. My original reservation was meant to be $140 For the entire week. I will not risk booking a car again through Economy. I am now having to work with another agent from corporate for a refund and it has just been so much more work.

There was little to no information on how I should find Economy. When I called, the man tells me that 'you know that we don't have your car' and it would take an hour to get my car. How would I know? But if you don't have my car, then I'll take another car from the lot. So I travel to the lot after an Uber takes us to their lot. He meant to say 'we have no cars right now, no idea when we'll get any cars, you may be 2nd on the waitlist, so if any cars do become available, they will be distributed first come - first serve, and I'll be happy to give you your money back now so you can find a rental car for the weekend' instead.

The line was very long, waited more than an hour standing in line, hungry & tired, with insufficient staffing and no urgency in the staff to get things going, laid back attitude inspite of the long line. Given a small suv as a substitute, it was quite dirty inside & out, dusty & grimy, seems to have gone on a dirt road, was not cleaned or even wiped down before being rented out to us. Quite a frustrating experience!! Never again.

At the return location it look also a long time to someone assist you and the shuttle driver was on the phone the entire time as he was driving. Will never use it again and don’t recommend at all. The low price is a trap, they will add them on when you check in. They were friendly when you enter the room, but have you wait there forever, while I was waiting, I saw people complaining about the adding on price, I saw people complaining why no car for them yet, I saw people had trouble returning the car, I had to google what is Easirent, all their reviews very poor, I decided to give up my money I've already paid (no refund 2 hours before checking in), before they rip off, they even had no people to help me while I was waiting there for 40 minutes.

The rental process and the rental car itself were very smooth and a positive experience. The shuttle return to the airport after dropping off the car was quite stressful as it delayed us by 30-40 minutes when the return agent had told us to expect 10 minutes.

Worst experience I’ve EVER had with a rental car. Despite talking to them before I even left my departure airport, when I arrived in YVR and called them for a shuttle to get the car, they told me they didn’t have my reservation. I had prepaid for the car. I was told they didn’t have my reservation (even though they found it during the first call). The guy in the phone was beyond rude and told me that they wouldn’t do anything for me. They weren’t going to help.

For TWENTY minutes after returning our rental a wallet was mistakenly left in the vehicle. After twenty mins we returned and were given the wallet, but without the thousand dollars that was in it. I didn't receive help at the time and needed to catch our flight. However, since then my reports to Alamo have gone unanswered. The policy is they aren’t responsible for unattended items… no surprise there. But their lack of interest in rooting out an employee who so plainly stole a significant amount of money is… disheartening. Had my concern been escalated at the time, the employee could have been caught red-handed and the money even potentially returned. Instead, I’ve heard nothing from Alamo. I’ve left website, messaging, phone, and customer service chat complaints. No response. No response to my requests they view camera footage and the log of who was in the vehicle. At this point I’m frustrated that this hasn’t been addressed. If they aren’t going to return the money (because they didn’t take the time to speak to their employees) they should at least police them when reports of theft are made. If not, customers will have to make actual police reports.

Pros:

Easy to pick up and return were fairly straightforward although the wait time to pick up was too long given there were very few other customers.

Cons:

They gave us a choice of two cars. One smelled terrible on the inside and the other desperately needed cleaning on the interior. There was a bunch of popcorn in the back seat and hand prints on the rear seat windows. We were not impressed. I mean you could see the debris before even opening the doors. Gross. And this is supposed to be a time of extra cleaning given the pandemic. May not use Alamo again.

The car was good and staff was friendly but we were charged more than expected and never received an answer when we questioned this. The amount quoted at the pick-up desk was slightly higher (about $10) than the quote. We planned to return the car with a fulll tank of gas but due to unexpected traffic we weren’t able to stop and were charged $48 (returned it with half of tank, charged for a full tank) and were charged an additional $36 for a recovery fee which we have no idea what this was for or why it was charged.

Kayak and Expedia: talk with Avis and find a way to not take reservations when there are no cars available. I learned this when I arrived at the counter, which caused a great deal of inconvenience. My experience with Avis Rental Cars at Fort Lauderdale Airport was disappointing. Despite making a reservation, I waited nearly an hour in line for check-in, which seemed excessive given the low number of customers. The staff aggressively pushed extra insurance coverage and were unpleasant when I declined. To make matters worse, the car I was initially given was parked in an aisle where returned vehicles were lined up, making it impossible to pull out. Despite requesting assistance from the staff and searching for the manager, it took an additional 30 minutes to locate and change my reservation to another car. Throughout all of this, the staff showed little concern and were unapologetic. It's frustrating that even with a reservation, it took nearly 1 hour and 30 minutes to leave the airport with my rental. This experience falls far short of expectations, and I won't be choosing Avis for future rentals.

Checking in and skipping the counter was incredibly helpful. We loved picking the car, although we really only had one vehicle option unless we wanted to pay more. Returning the vehicle is where Hertz stole the show. Mr. Williams at the Fort Lauderdale airport was amazing! He took the time to personally drop us off at our terminal and assist us with our bags so we didn’t have the bother with a shuttle. It was so helpful, having three small kiddos and all the stuff we have to haul. We will definitely use Hertz again in Fort Lauderdale because of Mr. Williams.

Ace doubled my rate when I rented my car at the counter, from $108 to $208, saying i chose the “manager’s choice” rate in my reservation, but that they only had a RAV-4 so it was “double”. They said i could wait indefinitely for “another car”. Because i could not wait indefinitely at the airport for “another car”, the manager gave me the “manager’s choice” at double the rate that i booked. Unbelievable scam.

I would’ve liked to be able to use one credit card at pick up and a different one at drop off which I was refused. I usually rent next door for them at Fox And there is never a problem, changing credit cards. The rental agent was adamant that I cannot do that, which will leave me know alternative, but to resume renting from Fox or other rental companies within Fort Lauderdale airport.

My issue was - in the hotel I was at, I had to use valet parking - the valet driver hit a pipe with the rental car. When I tried to call the official Thrifty number on the contract, I couldn't get a live person AND (as crazy as it seems) kept bringing my to a sales line selling Life Lock. This happened about 10 times. Not kidding. After 9.5 hours of phone calls, paperwork and bringing the damaged car to the Miami airport, I got a replacement car. The customer service person told me to bring the car to the Miami Airport. Note - when I brought it to the damaged car to the Miami Airport, the person at the Thrifty car rental refused to replace it. Again, not kidding. After about 1 hour of arguing with him and trying to call customer service back, they FINALLY accepted it. The experience was terrible. And, I'm not kidding about the 9.5 hours from the time of the accident - 3:58PM till 1:30AM I was dealing with this issue.

This was the worst and most expensive experience. 1) they would not honor my reservation 2)they didn’t have a van available 3) I was charged $400 extra because I didn’t have a reservation and they gave me a SUV, which was a tight fit. 3) didn’t leave from the rental agency until 7pm and had to have the truck back at 6pm 4) Was treated like I was a foreigner who didn’t understand English, I was born in Florida 5) my $532 reservation was over charged to $1229.00 6) Elder abuse Our ages ranged from 64-78. 7) will contact the State Attorney General office this week about the elder abuse and illegal price gouging. 8) I was told to get two cars or change my date, since he didn’t have a van. I showed him my reservation sheet and he said it didn’t matter! The person at the counter for Dollar was Antony! He bragged about what he did to the young man that check at the out going station! Insulting and degrading and embarrassing!!

Make sure you have an international drivers license with you, because Surprise will not rent a car to you if you don’t unless you pay for very expensive daily insurance through them. Even though they refused to rent the car, they still charged us the full rental price. The directions for getting the shuttle at the airport were very vague and so finding the shuttle took us over an hour of asking people where to get it (no one knew) and what the shuttle looked like. The whole ordeal was a nightmare

I found out from a taxi driver that the wrong address was listed on my car rental booking confirmation and there was no information about a shuttle/transportation to the location listed as the airport when it was actually somewhere else. I had to pay a taxi driver to bring me to a different address that a free shuttle should have. Beside that, the car worked great and wasn't very clean but otherwise highly functional. No mechanical issues and I was able to catch the shuttle back.

We arrived to confusion over the shuttle pickup. The directions were outdated. The agent even argued with us when we met her. She wanted to charge us an international drivers license fee. We did not have to do this when using a renal car in Amsterdam. The whole experience turned us off and we cancelled. We rented from Hertz the next day and it was much better from start to finish. .

I do not know who is qualifying the vendors/rental car companies there, but they need to do more research and have some kind of standards when it comes to renting cars. Two reservations canceled within 36 hours of landing on rental cars booked weeks in advance and it cost me over $500 more to get transportation for my trip. Atrocious!! EasiRent and Carwiz both screwed me and my vacation up!!

I had a large group that was going to ride along. We reserved a Toyota Sequoia or similar because it would hold seven people. We received a Nissan rogue that barely held four. The rogue had a large dent in the panel. However, it drove very nice and it was a nice car for the price.

The whole $10 per day rental is a scam! I stayed in the city of Fort Lauderdale and I was forced to pay a toll charge of $14.99 per day or I was not allowed to rent the car. I presented the required auto insurance liability coverage of 100k/300k, but it was not honored because description on my insurance was different than required by JC Car Rental. The car was over 9K miles required maintenance with very concerning noise while driving. I found a surgical pad soaked with blood under the passenger seat after unidentified smell in a car for two days. When I reported it when returning car, the clerk said that he will put a note in the system. No apologies, no concerns to renting me a car with biological hazard! Or maybe the clerk giving me the car just put it there because I was complaining about hidden and forced charges upon me! This place should never be offered at any site!

False advertising by Expedia as price $29 per day. Had to pay another $29 per day at pickup. Only after I paid in full apparently as directed did I get a receipt showing $29 more per day owing. Kayak is allowing this to happen and I will never use them again. I rented 6 different times in Europe in the last 2 months and all were as advertised and honest dealers thru different aggregators other than kayak. I just got conned and am warning people to be careful and not use kayak or Expedia.

I booked a car rental via Priceless in Fort Lauderdale at the advice of a friend who said there are a lot of rental car companies in Florida that seem odd/sketchy, but end up being okay. This establishment isn’t one of those. Upon arriving at the establishment, I was asked to pay several hundred more dollars than I originally had to when reserving my rental car. The origin of these charges and my right to decline them was not explained. When I asked questions, I received an attitude and/or poor explanation from the woman helping me. In addition to this woman raising her voice at me when I asked questions about the extra charges and took some time to think through all of the information that was thrown at me regarding these extra charges, one of her male coworkers chimed in and raised his voice at me as well - from across the room. In front of a room full of other customers. Which was incredibly unnecessary and unprofessional, as I was calm when I asked these questions. After asking for my deposit, I was asked to sign and initial the card reader, so I assumed that this signature & initials were related to the card payment I had just made. Wrong. My initials were taken and electronically applied them to various statements on the contract for the rental car that were never actually explained to me, verbally or otherwise, so it appears as though I initialed/consented to each of their policies when that is not at all the case. In addition, I was charged $60 for “SunPass Activation” which was supposedly for them to keep the SunPass in the car active (thereby saving customers from having to pay the tolls when driving). However, when I went through a toll in FL, the attendant told me that the SunPass was not working and proceeded to charge me $3.75 for the toll. What was the $60 “SunPass Activation” fee for, if I was going to have to pay tolls IN ADDITION to this fee? I noticed in the contract that there is an administrative fee for any outstanding tolls that customers accrue while driving the car, which will be charged to the credit card on file when Priceless receives the toll invoice. Given that I paid for the SunPass activation, I will be reporting any “admin fees” for outstanding tolls that are charged to my credit card by Priceless as fraudulent (it’s not my fault that the SunPass was not working properly!). Kayak, please stop recommending this place to your customers!!

“No cars available” even though I had a reservation. Attendant told me to come back around 3PM to pick up a vehicle. No one called back and when I called around 3:30PM there were still “no cars”. This is very disappointing and not expected with a company like Enterprise with how big they are and how much they tout customer service. This confirms why I don’t rent with them much anymore and haven’t recently.

U-Save agent at FLL, lied about sending the shuttle, as was the only person working at the time, causing 1h30 wait under the rain. Once we get there, he then proceeded to increase the booked price by 56$ a day. Liars, horrendous communication and poor reality of a car rental company. Nothing about the U-Save location was better than utter mediocrity and crassness.

They should require the insurance liability amount required up front because it’s extremely high and the charge is a big hidden fee. Also, gas should always be full at pick up so i can fill up the tank at drop off. I received the car at less than 3/4 full and had to guess how much to fill back up to that point because the gas station doesn’t just stop at 3/4th. Another hidden fee.

The car was nice. Low mileage and clean. There were lots of hidden insurance fees - not sure how much of that was rental company versus state laws. I have rental coverage with my personal car insurance, so that should have covered it. Total cost was almost 4 times the initial estimate.

Absolutely terrible experience and will never use Turo. Apparently the car we had arranged months before was smashed two weeks before we we due to pick it up. Trouble is, no one told us until we were on the Eurostar on the way to get it. They had had our money for ages. Seems like the owner, Luke, was trying to get Turo to make up the difference and hire us his more expensive alternative (a Porsche, which I wouldn’t want anyway). Turo “help” line was totally unhelpful. Couldn’t end the deal; couldn’t refund without us getting on to another department (hard on a foreign phone). They can’t call you…. So it was impossible to organise an alternative. If there is a problem with a car hire company, they just replace it. Turo was more expensive and unable to fix a problem. Never again.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

If you live in Florida and rent a car in Florida they’ll put a 2K hold in your cc and you have 100miles per day limit. So, you have an extra fee for unlimited miles, unlimited tolls plus the hold. If this is your escenario (live and rent to use in Florida) I don’t recommend them.

Zezgo - Los Angeles Here's what to expect: * Wait in line for 1-2 hours if you are scheduled at noon. There is just one to two persons working at the desk and it takes a long time per person. * $1000 deposit on credit card, $2000 if you are an LA resident. They may knock this lower to make you feel better about the extra charge they're about to give you. * "Loss of use" insurance is mandatory and not common on personal car insurance or credit card collision damage waivers. * They will sell it to you. For me it was $20/day additional. (They reduced it from $25/ day) * Need the "declaration page" from auto insurance. It was available via my GEICO app, but you may be able to call and have them email it to you. * They do not accept insurance from Canada or other countries * They only allow one insurance company to be used for the rental. So you can't use GEICO and credit card collision damage waiver together, for instance. I * Declined the toll service (optional). * They reduced the deposit to $250. * They didn't have all the car models that kayak said they had. For instance no Chevy Spark. They said they never have the Spark and don't know why it's listed on the website. CorpUSA group LA was the billing name on the credit card statement. They had zezgo and a few other "brands" of auto rental companies all sharing the same staff and fleet.

I liked how we were able to quickly get rental on our phones and get to the rental car taking shuttle. Process was fast. Car smelled like smoke! There was half tank of fuel when we started so we filled up to half when returning. But they charged me for full tank. But when I called the customer service everything was fixed right away! Thank you! Overall very organized! Saved our long wait for our flight.

I had scheduled the car for noon, when I arrived at the rental counter at 12:15 they told me the car wouldn’t be ready for 20 minutes. I waited an hour before the car was finally ready at 1:15. When finally getting the car the worker asked if I wanted to pay for a sun pass unlimited pass and for gas. I declined both which he then continued to ask two more times until I felt like I couldn’t say no and agreed to both. I paid $12 for the sun pass when I only went through two tolls, and paid for a full tank of gas when I used less than half of a tank. When I finally got in the car it smelt very strongly of cigarettes. Disappointing and over priced experience overall.

On pick up the agent wasn't happy I wasn't going to purchase additional options and became short with me. I have my own sunpass to avoid the cost and he threatened me it would cost $25 each time I went through the toll plaza which is incorrect, as I've rented many times from various companies with my sunpass and have had no problems.

1. The shuttle was late in pick-up from airport, we had to wait for 1 hour 2. The customer support is worst, was not able to understand anything from the adian lady. 3. When I reached there, the system was logged in to an employee ID of Daniela, its like anybody can walk in and look at customers confidential information 4. For insurance, it was not mentioned while booking the car, the one I purchased from Kayak was not valid so had to pay additional $80 on spot for insurance. Overall worst experience, will not recommend to anyone of my friend to book car rental from Kayak.

The company itself does not seem to exist - we looked up the address on Kayak and Google and it was invalid. No valid phone number available to call for directions. Drove around for 30 minutes looking for it and it wasn’t there! We even asked other rental car places in the vicinity of where it was supposed to be and none of them had heard of it. Do not “rent” from this place, as there is nowhere to actually pick up a car.

I was charged significantly more than what I had booked the car for. They charged me for the liability insurance and did not give me an option without it. The offsite location was cumbersome and confusing. There was no one on site. They used a virtual kiosk which is fine, but had I known that I would’ve spent a little extra and gone to one of the major brands and picked it up at the airport. The car was about what I expected for a cheap rental car, that in the end wasn’t very cheap. It ended up being far more expensive than it should’ve been for the car that I ended up with. Overall a poor experience and I will not rent with them again if I make a similar trip.

No option for the vehicle. Vehicle delivered with only 3/8 of gas. The rear safety belt buckle are missing. I need to remove the back seat to put my baby car seat and for my mother safety belt. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. TERRIBLE. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. From the start our reservation seemed off as I had been careful to select rental companies that were in the terminal at MCO but then after I booked I got an email that notified me this would require a 10min shuttle ride. I went along with it anyway. Then we get to the rental site and it's not even a Wrent A Wreck, they are actually called APM Car Rental. This was another red flag. Since we'd already booked we proceeded though. We were then charged a ton of extra fees. We were supposed to pay another $50usd on arrival to complete our booking (we'd already paid the bulk at time of reservation). We ended up being charged another $319 usd to get a car! This isn't even the worst if it. After spending a long time in the office and spending much more money than we had planned, we finally left with our car. We then drove about 10 minutes down the road and the car broke down. We called back the rental and they were extremely rude but said they would send somebody. We waited almost 2 hours in Florida heat with an infant baby and the whole time they would say somebody was on their way every time we called. That was obviously not the case since their office was not even 10 minutes away. When they finally came they had to jump the battery because it was dead even though they had been claiming we had done something to the car, they clearly gave us a car with a bad battery and finally replaced it with another car of the exact same model. Over the course of the few days that we had this car it broke down again and we had to jump the battery because they would not come help us or replace the car. The tire also blew out shortly after they gave it to us which we also had to change ourselves because they would not help even though they gave us a bad car. The rental company admitted that they had not inspected the second car they gave us since they were in a hurry to replace the first. If that is the case we should not be held responsible for the issues that were existing with the second car, but we were. Overall a terrible rental experience and we barely drove the car for the remainder of our trip because it was so unreliable and we had to rely on family members to give us rides. The company was very rude and refused to give us a credit for these issues. After we returned the car we thought that our issues with this company were behind us, we were wrong. In the week that followed, we were charged extra fees instead of getting credits back. First we were charged an additional fee a few days after drop off of car, then that fee expanded into a larger amount that we found on our credit card bill with no notification or explanation from the rental company. We have since been chasing them for answers and to try and get our money back with no response. We have now spent more on this car rental than our plane tickets! We have now been charged 5 times what we booked. This company is truly terrible, they trick people into thinking they are Rent A Wreck but actually they are another company completely and they offer terrible service and many extra charges. I have never had such a bad travel or customer service experience in my life.

rental was 300 but insurance was 700 + tolls were 200 those huge extra costs were nowhere to be found on kayak. on the website, insurance was 260 and the only reason why we did not buy it online (together with the car rental) is that terms were not clear, and we intended to discuss them in person. big mistake: since they charged us almost 3 times as much for insurance! And tolls? they wanted to charge us 25 dollars (plus the cost of the actual tolls, obviously) for every time we would take a toll road... that's crazy! basically we were forced to purchase "unlimited tolls" for 200 dollars, something never heard of. Besides the extortion, we had to wait well over 1 hour at the car pickup before victorycar empoyee picked us up. And they knew we had been standing there since second 1, because they immediately replied to out whatsapp messages. The car was fine, but the overall experience was bad.

I don’t know where to start. First, they have no office at or near the airport. It’s a couple of guys in the back of a van and it took me half an hour walking around with my luggage to find them with no assistance from their side even after I called them twice. Also, I paid for an SUV car (Kia Sonic or similar) and they gave me a very small car (Dacia) and told me it’s the only car they have. They also made me pay for parking to get the car out of the airport parking lot. I wouldn’t rent from this company again.

It was a terrible experience, and they did not give me the car. I went to the counter and showed my reservation, my driver's license, and my international driver's license, and they told me that they could not accept my international driver's license without giving me any explanation.

Was given a car with a known computer malfunction. VW polo with “EPC” light on limiting the RPMs to 4K meaning high way travel was nearly impossible for our trip. Dropped the car off a day early and wrote Autovia an email with listed malfunctions and complaints. Never heard back. Will never use them again.

Nobody at the airport to collect me even though we had provided the flight details. First car was old, broken boot and stank of smoke. Multiple defects to the body work and seats ripped and holes with cigarette burns. Second car was marginally better but damaged and in a poor condition. Manager threatened to cancel my contract with them and was rude/not helpful. Eventually after 2 days we received a much better car but still with bodywork damage. Every car stank of cigarette smoke. Be careful they don’t accept all major credit cards. I will never ever use them again and a warning to fellow travellers to avoid them at all costs. It’s not worth the stress or hassle. They cannot be trusted.

Although it states the Ecovia desk is inside the terminal - it is infact adjacent to the terminal (about 100m walk) along with many of the other hire car companies (the airport could sign this better as many travellers were finding difficulty in finding the car hire desks0. Only 2 or 3 companies were actually IN the terminal - the other 20+ were adjacent. Finding the car in the dark was challenging - the Ecovia cars were parked at the far end of the car park (which wasn't properly explained) - and there was no guidance on how or where to return the car.

We were charged an extra $130.00 for an international drivers license we didn’t need. They have you at the counter so at that point you have no option. Upon further research and asking at another car rental place - we got ripped off. They told us if police stopped us they would take our car on the spot without that license. Not true.

I recently booked a reservation through Kayak for a vehicle rental, and I had to purchase insurance coverage online through Kayak Open Arrival at the time of booking. Upon arrival, I was informed that the insurance purchased through Kayak was not accepted, and I was required to pay an additional $99 to proceed with the rental. This came as a surprise to me, as I was under the impression that the insurance coverage I purchased would be valid for the rental. Additionally, I would have appreciated clarification on why the additional $99 charge was necessary and what it covers. Furthermore, I was informed about a $500 deposit requirement, which was not mentioned during the booking process. I would appreciate clarification on this matter as well. I have not received my deposit.
