The Scandic Rubinen is a 1960s, seven-storey hotel located on the city's main avenue, within one kilometre of the train station and Liseberg Amusement Park. The 191 guestrooms feature simple, modern, Scandinavian-style decor. All include clock radios, coffee/tea makers, desks, telephones and televisions with pay movies. Bathrooms have hair dryers. Guests can dine in the informal Ruby Restaurant, which offers bright, colourful decor and a varied menu of international dishes, or enjoy spiced Caribbean and South American tapas dishes, tequila, rum and fresh fruit juices in the Ruby Bar. Children receive a surprise on check in, and during the summer they have their own breakfast room with videos and a playroom.
