Quick drop-off, no hassles.Pros:It was a quick drop-off, just like I'm used to in the US. Everything was in order, and there were no hassles. The shuttle came within about 5 minutes.Reviewed Jul 10 2018

Long wait, friendly service as they pushed upcharges for the car.Pros:Very friendly and personable, and after an hour wait, for service, the care they delivered was great.Cons:I had verified that I have full collision damage insurance with my credit card and had the policy, but they wouldn't give me a car without a letter or call from the card company. This proved impossible to do on the spot so I had to take the $15 Euro a day for redundant insurance.Reviewed Jul 10 2018

Cons:Didn’t even take the car. Got to the counter and was told that the actual price was 950 euro as basic insurance was not included in the kayak quote- which I was quoted at 145 euro. Ridiculous misadvertising on kayaks part.Reviewed Apr 15 2018

Worry-free RentalPros:The car we rented was very comfortable and easy to drive which was fortunate because we did a lot of driving.Cons:The pick-up counter at the airport was very busy when we arrived. Despite having the desk fully staffed with about six agents it still took us nearly 30 minutes to get to our car.Reviewed Jul 17 2017

The rental staff at this location are very nice and helpfulPros:Ease of picking up the carCons:We were not warned by the staff that we should photograph and document every tiny scratch on the vehicle....including the bumpers! The staff at the Hertz near Shannon Airport will charge you exorbitant amounts for any tiny scratch. We were assessed over $700 for three very short (the largest was less than 2 cm) thin (a couple of millimeters thick maybe) on the front bumper. These were not dents at all, just superficial scratches on a plastic bumper.Reviewed Jun 13 2017

Top tips for renting a car from Hertz in Dublin

  • When booking Hertz car rentals in Dublin, you’ll want to keep in mind that drivers in Ireland drive on the left-hand side of the road. Because of this, the driver’s side of your rental vehicle will be on the right side, and the passenger will sit on the left. While driving on a different side of the road may sound unusual or make some nervous, there’s no cause for concern. If you’re used to driving in the US or Canada, the basic rules and regulations of the road are essentially the same.
  • Another item to note when booking a car through Hertz car rentals in Dublin is that you must be 21 or older to rent a car, much like many places in the US. You must also have a valid driver's license and have had this license for a period of at least one year. In addition, most rental companies in Ireland charge an extra fee to drivers under the age of 24, so be prepared for this additional charge if you’re a young driver looking to book.
  • When thinking about the type of vehicle to book through Hertz car rentals in Dublin, a compact car is highly recommended. You’ll easily be able to park and maneuver, fit all your luggage, and get great gas mileage with a compact car. You’ll also typically have more options to choose from than when booking another type of car. The roads in Ireland can also be very narrow, making a compact car a great choice rather than one that takes up more space.
  • One other item to note when booking your car through Hertz car rentals in Dublin is that, unlike the US and Canada, most people in Ireland drive manual vehicles. However, not to worry; automatic vehicles are still readily available to rent. A higher price tag may be associated with an automatic car, so check with your Hertz agent before booking to be sure.
  • 25% of our users found rental cars from Hertz in Dublin for $37 or less.
  • Book your rental car from Hertz in Dublin at least 1 day before your trip in order to get a below-average price.
  • Intermediate rental cars from Hertz in Dublin are around 35% cheaper than other car types, on average.
