air conditioning units loud and old. carpets and bathrooms sub standard.
Will NEVER stay there again.
Location is awesome. Staff is great. Bar and restaurant were pretty good and convienient.
Air conditioner worked but was extremely loud I would chug every 5 to 10 seconds and pull you out of sleep. Soon as at turned off you could get about 30 mins of sleep before it cut back on. One of the biggest weekends in Jacksonville for tailgating or people needing ice you would have thought they would have had more than one operational. I was on the 4th floor and had to go exploring and after checking 5 other broken ice machines I found one that worked. I didn't like the fact that I had to pay to self park. Why would you charge someone to park at your hotel that already paid to stay there? If your gonna charge $20 for parking probably should be all valet.
Hotel is very run down
The Dolphins in the waterfront
The Landings, not your fault and our room was very damp. It felt like they just shampooed the carpet.
The view and location
Staff said there was no water taxi to the landing, wall patches all over, walls shook when the door closes, staines on Decorative pillows, no room service during regular hours, couldn't access gym after 4,5 attempts with staff help, wouldn't be surprised if billing collapsed due to water damage, and mild in bathtub:(
We got the room for a cheap rate and the location isn't bad.
Photos seemed to slightly embellish the facility. I know you shouldn't judge a book from the cover the the exterior is not appealing or welcoming on arrival. This set the precedent that the interior would match the exterior. Although the lobby was nice the rooms need updating. The wallpaper was buckling, the ceiling in the bathroom looked like it was going to fall, there were minor stains on the bedding, a dirty old cordless phone, and it just did not have a warm clean and cozy feel to it.
The room was clean and the staff was courteous.
I did not like the fact that you had to pay for parking in the hotel parking lot. Parking should have been a given when you book a room at the hotel. I will never book a room here again.
Everything about this hotel stay was awful. From the moment we checked in the staff was incompetent. Worst hotel stay experience.
The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. The hotel was clean but had a weird smell. Overall it was and ok stay. They also had a nice pool table and cool bar area
I was lied to through pictures. The hotel was not at all what I expected. I was very disappointed. There wasn't much to do for a young couple. I found myself being very bored in my room with my boyfriend.
Terrible restaurant. This is a renovated hotel that must have been a one-star. It is cheap, but no view, poor fitness facilities, computers in business center did not work, and close to noisy roads and monorail. Ok if you just need a place to sleep, but that is it.
The location was decent.
Multiple large patches of mildewed ceiling in the bathroom, falling apart in areas. Coffee maker had a disgusting amount of hard water stains and dirt in the water basin. Even after cleaning it, it ended up being broken and wouldn't turn on. The lobby had a horribly foul chemical cleaner smell (as noted in other reviews). The room smelled better (less bad), but I did contemplate leaving more than once. I would have liked to grab some food at the lobby bar/restaurant, but the smell made that an unworkable proposition.
Wifi not working, lamp missing bulb, shower drain not working, strong chemical odor in lobby.
Location was good. The room was dirty, tub was clogged and also the sink. The cover photo doesnt look nothing as the hotel is. I would never stay in again.
The lobby and king sized bed were nice.
The building was not advertised accordingly. Dirty hallways and leaking toilet. Parking=$10/day
Location was good and staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious
Bathrooms were extremely small and not up to the same standards as the rest of the hotel
The location WAS awesome!
The carpet, walls, and doirs could have been cleane.
The location is very good. There's a museum,a hospital and several restaurants within easy walking distance. The large lobby is nice. Our room was comfortable except for the bathroom and had ample drawers for our clothing. Our king-sized bed was comfortable with several pillow types to choose from.If you're the walking type you can cross over the bridge into downtown, or turn up on Hendricks Street and stroll a few blocks to V Pizza which tastes excellent or have a delicious craft beer at Aardwolf's Brewpub. All of these are within an hour's walk.
First, don't believe the cover photo. That's a picture taken from a parking lot of the restaurant across the way of the view looking at the other side of the river. They charge $9 for self parking which I find unfair. The bathroom facilities are not up to par with a 4-star hotel. The toilet/shower is small and uncomfortable. The restaurant is somewhat expensive:you can eat better and cheaper within walking distance. There isn't actually a river-walk on this side of the river, though that isn't really the hotel's fault, it's the city's.The staff isn't very knowledgeable about the city they live in. If I ever return to Jacksonville I will stay somewhere else. The truth is we never stay in the same place twice anyway.
Staff was very friendly
The fact that they charge you a fee to self park. I have never paid to park at a hotel that I was staying. Also, the hotel needs some serious updating. Carpet is horrible, room was okay but would not stay there again.
Staff were great
The facility, rooms, shops, restaurants and cleanliness were horrible. Mold and must were rampant in two rooms we had. Ventilation and sanitary conditions were deplorable. The carpets can not have been cleaned in years. Would never recommend to someone I hated.
I liked the industrial decor and the valet was very nice as were the folks in the restaraunt. The front desk was very courteous.
I've stayed at other Wyndam hotels and been much more satisfied (even in Jacksonville). This one says Riverwalk but you can't walk along the river unless you cross the bridge (walk almost an hour). It will eventually be finished but right now it's completely fenced off with chain link fencing. It's unattractive to say the least. In addition, music played at the pool all night (despite that no one was swimming because it was cold (November). Very disturbing to sleep. Finally, the tub wouldn't drain. Part of the problem was that the stopper was broken and we had to wedge a soap dish holder under it to keep it up but even then the drain was so sluggish that it took at least 10 minutes between showers! All in all, not a good experience.
Outdated and broken stuff in room. Needs love
I chose the Wyndham because of it's location; we were in town for the Ga/Fl game over the weekend. Location was great. The water taxi left from right behind our room and took us straight to the stadium. Buffet breakfast was good and beds were comfortable, but small.
The lobby was loud all hours, but what else would you expect on a weekend full of drunk football fans? We luckily had a room on the very opposite end of the hall but the walls were still paper thin and we could hear everything in the rooms adjacent and above us. The bathroom didn't seem clean. The carpet in the room was disgusting, I didn't even want to try and figure out the mystery stain in the corner, but for the price and location it was worth it to stick it out through the weekend rather than sleep in the car.
Staff was friendly
Needed to be remodeled, everything was dated and worn.
I loved that it was right down town and price was good.
The rooms could use a renovation. It looks like the last time they renovated the room we stayed in they just painted over old problems. The toilet didn't like to flush. Each room around us were very loud. I could have a conversation with the neighbors next to us through the wall. I would not bring my 3 year old there because he wouldn't be able to sleep through the noise. The room doors slammed so every time one in the hallway closed it sounded like they were being slammed shut. I used to sleep through mortar attacks in Iraq and I couldn't sleep through that. We chose this hotel because of the location. We expected to be able to use the water taxi but it was not efficient due to the lack of availability. We were told that the city took it over and there was only one running. Not good for Florida vs Georgia football game. Upon arrival, we were greeted with its $30 dollars to park at the hotel for the weekend. Not bad if I was expecting that and usually it should be valet at a hotel that requires a few on top of the original cost. Other than that it was a good hotel.
$30 to park was Rediculous.
They gave our room away that we booked a week out a king and gave us(a couple) singles beds. They had people at the pool playing music and shouting till 3am. Someone smoked weed nearby and filled our entire room..... just horrible experience
Staff was very friendly and tried to meet our needs. River / water taxi, which provided transportation to the Landing and to the Football Stadium, stops at their dock.
Had called the hotel to verify that we could get a roll away bed, since I was traveling with my two large grown sons. Upon check-in we were told that it would be sent up, then manager knocked on door and told us that because of fire regs, they could not provide. We had to squeeze into two small beds. Toilet was broken upon check-in...parts missing from inside, so I don't know how it was cleaned before we checked in. Building is old and needs updating. Self parking $10.00 in unprotected lot.
dirty rundown hotel.
It took a long time to get checked in.
Was close enough to whatever we wanted to do. Am track is free and across the street which was nice since we didn't pant to drive or pay a fortune. There's a ferry but the wait was long. The room Was better then most had described- Bathrooms a little small- but overall good
I was here on an ER for my adult son to have major surgery. My daughter in law was with me....hotel close to everything ....hospital, downtown, etc Hotel staff were the friendliest ive ever encountered. Absolutely no complaint.....
Location and friendly staff
Everything.. Room was old and musty. Floor boards patched, no lighting. No décor in the room, patchy plastered walls. nasty bathroom NO ceiling lights, no light in bathroom. Carpet filthy and smelled. I have no doubt this hotel room would have to work REALLY hard to come UP to a Motel 6 standard. Even the parking lot was a disaster there were giant pot holds every where.. and they had the nerve to charge for parking! The lobby was nice, but there was still a musty smell. I'm thinking the carpet, perhaps in addition to a complete makeover for the rooms they should consider getting a new cleaning staff. I gave them 1 star because I couldn't do zero.
The location and proximity to downtown was great.
The place is falling apart. The valet parking was horrible. The hotel has not been kept up at all and the place is a dump.
We stayed there for our first anniversary weekend....LOVED it!! We got a great deal on the room through Kayak. The room was nice and clean. The staff was very accommodating and very friendly! We had a great weekend stay and would come back!
The décor of the lobby and common areas of the hotel were a little outdated, but not the staff's fault. Every hotel can't be updated all at once, still a great stay!!
The location to Everbank Stadium
Pics on website do not give the hotel justice. Small rooms no microwave/fridg. Dirty floors bed fell apart. Smaller than I thought we were getting!
