Great, central location. The Nob Hill neighborhood is nice, plenty of places to eat and shop nearby. Everyone on staff at the Inn was incredibly friendly and helpful. The building itself is gorgeous. We had a really enjoyable stay here!

Neighborhood is a little noisy, but it's the middle of the city so it's to be expected.

Room was beautiful and staff was exceptionally courteous and professional. The hotel with its blend of the historic and modern updates truly feels luxurious in a way that you don't find in most modern hotels.

The staff was very friendly, but wasn't terribly knowledgable and did not have access to extra pillows since the housekeepers take the keys with them when they leave for the night. It was fairly cheap for San Francisco..

The hotel was VERY dated and located in a terrible part of the city. The rooms seemed to be converted from apartments at some point in the past (we had a walk in closet 3 times the size of the bathroom) and the furnishings shows significant wear. Somewhat ironically the architecture in the are is beautiful but there is a large homeless population. The parking lot seemed to be guarded a pack of feral cats. It did not seem terribly clean, especially in the bathroom or by the light switches.

I loved this hotel! The location is awesome near bubbly Union Square. But unlike most hotels in busy areas, this was like a private, quiet retreat. The room was similar to exceptional European inns I have stayed in--Lovely design, intimate experience with amazing personalized service. Complimentary breakfast and evening wine and cheese were a definite plus. All personnel from front desk to housekeeping were highly professional, attentive and friendly. The room was very clean, pleasant and comfortable. I highly recommend the Inn at Union Square and definitely will plan to stay there again on any future trips to San Francisco.

The location of this cute, little inn was perfect. We were able to walk most everywhere: Union Square, Chinatown, North Beach and Fisherman's Wharf. We had a wonderful stay accentuated by the excellent continental breakfast, wine/cheese nightly get together and fresh cookies and chocolates with our turn-down at night. We started each day by walking two rooms down to get coffee and some breakfast on trays and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast in bed while planning our day's events. It was a great escape from the hectic schedule of everyday life. Have been to San Francisco before and this was, by far, our favorite place to stay. The Inn was intimate, quiet, and casual. It had a bed & breakfast feel. Will stay there on our next visit to SF, no question!

I liked the location.

I didn't like that parking at the hotel was $35 a night. It would of been nice if it was in the description. Parking was a rip off.

long lines at front desk and crowded lobby--i believe b/c free wifi was only available in the lobby. room and bathroom was clean, well-kept and quiet overall. some difficulty in adding people to the room and getting a mini-fridge in the room for medical purposes. definitely a destination for conferences and business meetings.

they changed my room upon making the complaint.

location was horrible. very scary ....for the money I paid this location is not acceptable. I was attacked by homeless angry people couple times . One time I had to run for my life also the place was pretty old and there was a smell in the rooms. no fridge. at the time of check in , the price for the room that you can get the room was cheaper for $25.00 than what priceline gave me

Here are the things that stood out to me: Front desk staff - Specifically Latoya. I've stayed in many hotels in my life and I can honestly say that she's my all-time favorite. The whole group liked her. Professional but with a "friend" vibe. Easy to talk to and joke with. In a past life she was probably a bar tender because she has that ability to make you feel special by taking interest in whatever you have going on. Gave us great suggestions/feedback on nearby eateries (too bad we didn't get a chance to try Brenda's Creole Soul Food). She would be a big reason I'd stay at Cova again. The rooftop - So cool! I was there with a group of guys celebrating a bachelor party so we had to get our rooftop wolfpack pre-blackout toast on. #TheHangover The room - One of our rooms was a double queen and it was spacious and comfortable and most importantly clean. That bathroom faucet is a trip! I also found the benches in each room to be a nice touch that you don't get in most hotels. Location - It honestly wasn't anywhere near as bad as many of the reviews make it out to be. My group and I walked around a lot and never did we feel unsafe. I walked by myself once and it was like any big city; you're going to get a wide array of people, from bums to business people to locals to tourists. In fact, Cova and the international hostel next door gave the street a very international vibe. BTW, don't let the movie "Hostel" corrupt your view of hostels the way it did to me for a long time. This one looked like a hotel and there seemed to be many European and Asian tourists staying there. Also, many good restaurants nearby. Lers Ros Thai food was bomb, Mr Crave right in front of the hotel is a gem, and although we never got to try Brenda's Creole Soul Food, it HAS to be good because it was always packed with a line of folks willing to wait up to two hours.

Prices are either the average per night price per room or first night of stay. You can select to display the prices with or without our estimate of taxes & fees (which may not appear on provider's booking page but will be charged at hotel checkout). Before you complete your reservation, verify the total cost on the provider's site. Prices and availability are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller
At KAYAK we don’t set prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

We aggregate tons of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we don't guarantee prices we find.

Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car rentals can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find on occasion that certain prices are no longer available.

More questions or if you have a bad price to report to us
Please send us an email and someone from our team will get back to you promptly.
