The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous.
The room smelled like stale cigarettes and the hotel was booked so we couldn't change rooms. I have allergies and this was very uncomfortable. The bathroom had white slime on the back of the door that I choose to think was conditioner.
Close to path and NYC
Starbucks did not serve breakfast long enough. Closed at 10 or so and could only get coffee
Great location friendly staff
TV did not work properly and bathroom tub was rusted
The heat was off and on. Sometimes the room was warm and at times it was cold. The staff was as accomodating as they could be. Offered us free coffee the next morning
The man at the front desk was nice
The charge for parking.... and I lost my ticket the valet guy gave me a hard time and I had to go back up ND find it after I checked out
Amazing deal for the price. Much nicer than expected. Even got free parking. Staff very nice. Pool was good, and hot tub was great. Room was very spacious and nice.
Wish there had been a better restaurant on premises or nearby.
location, large room. friendly staff.
bathroom is too small
The front desk staff both daytime and overnight were extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful.
the location neay the Newport path station
The parking's not free (18$ USD/day)
The valet Fernando was very nice.
No toothbrushes in the little store.
Highway robbery for each service, starting from parking to movie on TV. You find people drinking beer in front of desk. We found a drunk guy in elevator who was acting weird and made my wife scared. We felt like we are unsafe during that particular time.
Proximity to PATH train, clean room, attentive, friendly staff. I requested a higher floor with a skyline view and the desk clerk was more than accommodating. Lobby/dining area was very modern. Room, bed and bathroom were spotless. Valet parking.
Breakfast was overpriced. Also (not the hotel's fault) had very loud neighbors who were smoking cigarettes and other things. Hotel security did repeatedly warn them and eventually it stopped.
The location ,Path station right next to Hotel ,can be in the City in a matter of minutes.Lots of places to eat nearby ,a shopping mall over the street, and a wonderful view of the New York skyline from the river walk just around the corner .
Staff was unhelpful. The quality of the bed and overall accommodations were not satisfactory given the price of the room. The prices at the bar were extremely high and the drinks were very watered-down.
This hotel is amazing. This is right next to path station and Manhattan is just 10-15 minutes ride in train. Hotel is clean and well maintained. You won't be disappointed if you decide to stay here.
shower had low pressure and the bar was out of both my wife's wine selection and my beer choice
the room was beautiful. the beds were very comfortable and it was very clean.
the shower and toilet were separate from the sink area which was a little odd but okay.
No breakfast was included and you had to pay for regular TV.
We booked a hotel for the Marriot on Washington Blvd and when we arrived they told us that the booking agency had made a mistake and that they were completely full. We were forced to stay at a Marriot in Newark which was extremely inconvenient to our plan
Clean and up to date. Nothing showing wear and tear. Hotel staff was responsive to noise complaint.
Traffic in the area was horrendous. Jersey City is very congested with homes, businesses, cars, trucks and people.
The location is excellent, close to the Newport path station, shopping mall, supermarket and restaurants.
I left ealy and when I came back at 16:00 the room hasn't been cleaned yet. So we ended up without room cleaned during the stay. The recepcionist complained about our number of bags that we asked her to hold at the reception. Not good last day experience
I liked that the PATH train was right outside. Made it really easy to get to Manhattan. Nice sized room with a fridge.
I was disappointed in the 'smoke-free hotel' policy. On our third night, our entire room smelled of cigarette smoke because of someone smoking in a room on a lower floor. It was coming through the vent in the bathroom.
The stafff was most welcoming but the rooms were lacking things:a box of tissues(we asked several times and never got any), and we did nto have a coffe pot-plenty of coffee packs but no pot.
we booked our room at the last minute based on the access to PATH and parking. The check in process was effortless. We asked for a roll-away at check in. By the time we grabbed our luggage and made it to the room the roll-away was being delivered. Someone opened up the cafe to make us much needed coffee in the middle of the afternoon. More importantly she made our orders without complaint about the established hours of the cafe. The team was gracious when we repeatedly asked the typical tourist questions. Having the PATH just a moment away was fantastic and made our trip much easier than I could have imagined.
We loved the location - great access to the path, price was good, and room was nice. - Though there was fruit leftover in the frig. - we considered minor at the time. Unfortunatley, we left some hanging items behind. After checkout we called, but they were not found - sad considering we left $5.00 tip for maid each day, guess that wasn't enough. All in all we liked this place - and had intented to have glowing review - but we are really disappointed on the forgotten items - we expected more from Marriott.
Great location. Reliable Courtyard experience. Food in 'Bistro' could be much better. Staff was all courteous, helpful, and prompt.
NYC hotels are all overpriced. Courtyard Mariot is convenient even though it is across the Hudson. Room heater was quiet loud. Current hotel bedding - sheet that is not enough and comforter that is too much. What ever happened to blankets? NYC needs more moderate priced clean hotels that have little amenities (pool, wifi, etc) - as most people visiting NYC are on the go and NOT just hanging in their hotel.
This hotel provided excellent service, and was close to transportation to Manhattan and elsewhere. Would definitely stay here again.
