Our room was very clean and neat. We enjoyed the porch for morning coffee.
Checking in was quite busy and maybe that's why it seemed quite disorganized.
Location was decent Bed was comfortable
Overpriced for an old and somewhat run down hotel I will pick someplace else next time.
great staff, free upgrade, very friendly
Poor service from front desk staff - when asked where the town's tourist center was we were told to look it up on Google. Same answer to our question about how to get to Duval St.
The location / the hottub
The complimentary breakfast was weak, the staff not the friendliest people
Location is OK.
Have stayed here before and new it was average at best. Room was in old section of the hotel and was horrible. Other room already had somebody in it so they moved us to another hotel. We were a group traveling together and they put us in two different hotels.
Carpets are nasty , room cabinets are damaged, front desk rude, bathroom looks dirty. Went here for my two year anniversary. Never coming back!!!!! This was worse than a motel....
I checked in after dark and was out very early to get the ferry to the Dry Tortugas, so didn't really experience much. It was a good value and good location for where I needed to be, without the high prices of downtown (old town) Key West for just a place to sleep. Room was pretty basic and clean, which was good enough. I had to go to the lobby in order to get Wi Fi (the clerk confirmed that).
Staff was nice. Location is good (close enough to Duval St, without all the noise). Bed comfort was meh.
Bathroom needs some updating. Dirty walls and floor. Bathtub was clean though. The state and cleanliness of the hotel is what you would expect from a $50/night hotel. Nowhere near a $225/night room.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Banana Bay. When we arrived, we were offered either the queen size bed downstairs room or a king upstairs. We took the king. Great room, canopy bed, good TV/Fridge/Coffee Maker/Microwave. Free parking. Pool and hot tub were nice. Breakfast on the patio overlooking the bay.
Location was convenient for our purposes this trip, but right on the main drag and not much "curb appeal". No in-room wifi, but we were not using wifi much while we were there, anyway. Breakfast was sparse. Fresh fruit would have been nice. It's not 5 star, but better than I expected.
A lot of coconut trees nice waterfront sitting area to relax and have breakfast
A little bit not convenient to get in and out drive way
The pool was nice and the room was fairly clean
The hotel pool is clothing optional this information is not provided when making the reservation. The staff is not very friendly and do not provide porter service even though the rooms and the front desk are in two separate buildings. There are no elevators.
It was nice to have access to the grounds all day on the day of check-out
Staff was rude upon check-in, room was very dated, kitchenette cabinet doors were broken and chipped, woke up to cockroach on the floor in the am. Definitely not worth the money.
Great price for Key West. Room is big and has a fridge and microwave, which both came in handy. King size bed w/ canopy is nice. Pillow are comfy. Nice pool with water mattresses. Free parking and good location
No in-room Wifi, but hey, I didn't go to Key West on business. This isn't a fancy pants resort. If you want HD TV and a gold toilet seat, you'll have to pay much more money.
Not worth the cost. You walk in and it smells like mold. No beach near by. No internet. Will not stay there again!
Excellent location, and there is such potential in the facilities that it was hard to understand why they wouldn't be optimized. Little things like someone walking the grounds with a broom and dustpan, would have made a HUGE difference. There is no denying this is a facility with lots of potential as the location is PERFECT, the facilities are on the path to excellence, etc. The front desk clerk was rude, and so I suggest minor changes only to make this rating go from good to excellent!
James (the front attendant) was super nice, very helpful and had a great understanding of his guests. We were upgraded to a suite when we got there and it was free! That was awesome because this was our honeymoon/anniversary weekend. Nice facilities and the pool is clothing optional. But the absolute best part was the friendly and fun staff. We loved it. - JP & Britt Neal -SC
Ended up in Key West during the first weekend of fantasy fest, wen I realized the timing of my trip I was worried I would be stumbling into the Bates Motel, given my last minute booking. Pleasantly surprised as was the theme of this Key West visit. The room was clean, spacious, and the bed was really decorative. Great Stay.
Location was good and convenient to move around Breakfast and area was basic - waffle maker a nice touch Grounds were well kept Good parking availability
Was in room 405. Let's just say the whole room and bath need a lot of updating. It's old with a feel of overuse and undercard, definitely needs painting, carpet is old with corners undone, walls are pretty thing, loud air conditioner hanged with patchwork, broken handles in kitchen, noisy old fridge. Noticeable moldy smell every time one enters the room. Didn't change sheets even if they got dirty. Tried connecting to wifi once and didn't work. Not really a beach, more like a bay overlook. Used room as mainly sleeping quarters but really not worth the $ spend. Would not repeat unless had no other choice.
Would never stay there again has bed bugs and roaches very rude staff didn't want to do anything for us bed was broke in half when got there did not clean rooms one time very disappointed
Bed bugs and roaches the staff
Beautiful spot on the water. Quiet.
Room furniture looked old and dirty. Pool was uncomfortably warm. Breakfast quality was mediocre.
That I didn't get to go!!!! Kayak aloud me to book a hotel that was an ADULT ONLY resort when I was going with my 2 kids!!!! I would like my money back!!! All 646 dollars back!!!!
The room was clean, and the staff seemed friendly. Pool area was very nice as well.
The beach part was very misleading. Not really a beach. The airconditioner wasn't putting out enough cool air for the size room we were in.
Enjoyed the pool area & hot tub.
WIFI didn't work in room.
