Pros:From the moment we arrived we knew we picked the right spot. I don't think the pictures did justice to how amazing this spot is. Great access to beach, great happy hour at the bar, and great people made this an unforgettable vacation. You know when locals chose to hang on this beach or drink at this bar you found a good spot. We had a regular room but to be honest we probably only spent a couple hours total time awake in this room. We came for the island and that's what we got! Rented a scooter just down he street, waking distance from the hotel. The grocery shop at the hotel had very reasonable prices, I was shocked to be honest. The beach offered a nice area to hang or paddle board and the rocky area ended up being the most beautiful coral reef area that I didn't realize was there until snorkeling. I even saw a sea turtle while I was down checking out the fish in the reef. It completed my trip!! All this from right outside our hotel! No streets to cross, just hotel to beach, bam! The scooter was fun, we made it all the way around road to Hana on that thing (quickly found out our hotel was on the "sunny side" of the island which was a nice surprise). In 2 days we made it around the entire island and had time to chill at the hotel beach on the first and last day. It was perfect!! I feel like there was so much more to do, all the more reason to start planning the next trip! We will defiantly be staying at Mana Kai again if at all possible, we found our Hawaii home!!! Well never forget this trip and the hotel location and ammenities were a big part of that. If you are on the fence about where to stay and it's a matter of few $$, just do it!! It's the best value you will get in my opinion. If you want to ask me any questions about our stay just dm me on fb.
Cons:Would be super cool if 37 connected to 31 on the south end of the island but nothing the hotel could do about that. I still think the location was the best on the island.
Pros:The facilities here are just amazing and the location on the beach rivals any on this side of the island. We found out a lot of locals like to come to the restaurant because of the beach and restaurant here. Just an incredible value in the Mana Kai. Will definitely stay here again an again.
Cons:I was a little disappointed in my room. We got the smallest room they had due to booking late (everything else was sold out) I saw some of the other rooms and the were what we were looking for. Make sure you book an "A" room with ocean view and you will be more than happy.
Pros:Great staff. Excellent location.
Cons:LOTS of construction during our stay. The hotel floor plan for the adjoining rooms is very odd. If you have noisy neighbors, you will hear Everything. There is a mix of privately owned apartments and hotel rooms so the office can not control what is happening in the private apartments. This is not your typical hotel. Also the front desk is only open from 8-10.
